Have been here a few times, the food is good and drinks are great! Went last week and most of the staff is different and it shows (servers sucked before). Our server was Sofie and she was amazing. The other severs were also very attentive making sure we had refills and what we needed. Really enjoyed the service this last time. Have enjoyed the life music as well. However I don't enjoy kids at a bar... they seem to be everywhere and its annoying, I think this is probably why we don't go all the time. read more

The customer service was a little slow and we didn't exactly know who our actual server was. The green beans and French fries were seasoned great and were the highlight. We got the jalapeño poppers and it was a little underwhelming, the cheese inside wasn't melted and I think there was pulled pork inside, but it was not really necessary or tasted bc of the BBQ on them. We got the tacos in each meat; those were good. On the tacos the brisket and chicken were the winners, the pulled pork didn't really go well with the taco combo. We also got the pulled pork sandwich; It was good but very sweet, I would suggest a more tangy BBQ sauce instead to balance out the sweetness. First time here after touring Southfork Ranch....had expected more of a bbq place to be honest. It's a big place, large patio, and two dinning rooms. One loud the other a bit more quiet. They had the baseball game on which was nice. We ordered the Brisket deviled eggs, they were not bad, but not amazing. It was a good portion, I had the brisket sandwich, it was on a very good bun, that held up, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. The brisket was just okay, I've had better. The sweet potato fries were some of the best I've ever had. Cut thin, cooked perfectly, tasty, just the right seasoning. I would come back just for these. We did talk to the owner which was nice. read more

Very good lunch experience. We were greeted and quickly found a table in the back room with TVs. She had the salad with chicken and I had Buffalo wings and a beer - food was good. Server was attentive, food and beverage both came out quickly. Noticed impressive selection of bourbon at the bar - we'll be back to try that another day. Update-I have now visited this location on multiple occasions and they have greatly progressed on their level of customer service, check accuracy, time, and attention to detail. I would love to see more food specials - maybe a day of week specials and etc. The happy hour specials are great but limited. The drinks are ice cold and strong. The manager is awesome and is much more present. ------------------------------------ Visited Backyard Murphy today- struggles of a new location were very apparent. There were some bright spots but here is a full scope. Food- for type of venue menu was small scale and a lot repetitive items in different formats. Peppers stuffed pulled pork, pulled pork nachos, pork tacos... etc Stuffed peppers- good in flavor, small in portion vs price even at happy hour. BBQ sauce was on sweet side. Drinks- the happy hour specials are good and drinks such as the back yard marg was stout and good at 3.50 Service- the biggest issue was the they were more concerned with talking to each other than checking on tables and keeping tickets straight. Drinks went empty many times, no silver ware for half of table, no dirty plate removal, checks were all wrong when brought to table. Has a lot of potential... but mgt has its work cut out training staff, and providing some spark to menu and finding more value. Looking forward to a re-review in the coming minth read more

Stopped in with family from Pennsylvania.. couple kids and a dog. Absolutely fantastic customer service, play area for kids with video games and bean bag toss. Lots of shade, fans and clean Astro turf. Dog friendly. Good choice of food and tasty to boot. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a break for food and cocktails and letting kids stretch their legs while adults eat. Would differently want to return if get the chance. Gluten free heaven!!! Most of the menu is GF free. The brisket deviled eggs are legit! My favorite, probably because I can't usually get it anywhere, is the buffalo chicken sandwich. The food is practically inedible. We ordered fried potato skins- which came out as big potato wedges- NOT skins-that weren't cooked well and tasted like old grease. We had ordered for take out last week when our power was out, heck, the while area, most of Texas had power outage due to the "rotating" power outage that didn't rotate. I had the pulled pork sandwich & jalapeno popper while the boyfriend had a burger with sweet potatoe fries. My pulled pork was okay, the jalapeno popper was good, their sweet potato fries were cut smaller then what I'm used to but flavor was good. Boyfriend said the burger was really good.
