I told my husband I wanted to do something different last Sunday and we decided to have a drink at the lake, a quick search helped me find The Boathouse. To know: if you're going to the restaurant you don't have to pay day use fee at Lavon. $5 highnoons- we're already in. Deck seating was super comfortable, even midday in August. Food: mozzarella sticks- look I expected bar food. They were perfectly cooked! Not greasy. Not burnt. PERFECT. and they come with ranch AND marinara. Burger- just the way I like it. LTPO mayo and mustard, and this seems silly, but they put the mayo and mustard ON the burger, not in a cup/packet where you have to do it yourself. This was every burger I've been looking for in Dallas. No egg, no special sauce, no wierd ass extra stuff. A perfect burger. And the fries were great as well. Again, not greasy, well cooked. Not too thin, not to thick. The best part was Cailey (spelling?). She took amazing care of us. You can tell she really loves this spot. I know the feeling. Being a full time educator, having a job like this on the side is a break. As a nurse, I do the same. She told us all about the other businesses the owners have, the schedule, the upcoming events. I couldn't wait to get back to Dallas to tell our friends.

Nice place to chill out and have a bite to eat on the lake. Food was good, just wish the shrimp on the po boy was normal shrimp size not popcorn shrimp. Service was efficient and attentive. Definitely will go back

We wandered around the lake and stumbled upon The Boathouse on a busy Sunday evening. The restaurant was lively! A few tables for outdoor seating, and a handful indoors if you prefer to enjoy the AC. Our server, Megan, was attentive, and made sure we were taken care of. I ordered the cheeseburger (came with fries), and my fiancé ordered the patty melt. The cheeseburger was good. The meals were very generously sized. Lots of families enjoying their meals here after a long day out on the lake!

Came for lunch. Nice little unassuming restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, although it was too hot for us to sit out. Bacon blue cheese burger, Nashville hot chicken, and the Philly were all good. Rum punch and jalapeño pineapple margarita were good too. Our server was friendly and did her job well. Will returns when in the area enjoying the lake.

We've ate here twice now while boating on lake Lavon. Easy to tie up, dock and restaurant are clean, and the staff is very friendly. They have clean high chairs for the kiddos. Everything we've had there is delicious. Mostly we get chips and queso blanco and the quesadillas. Be sure to try their house margarita or frozen! Our friend had the Philly cheesesteak today and said it's the best he's ever had. Definitely stop here for lunch or dinner if you are on the lake!

The lakeside appeal isn't what makes this place great, that fault lies within the walls and is attributed to a pair of family friendly owners who are turning this place around. I had the burger of the week which was a hatch green chili burger with a side of fries. The burger was cooked very well, and fries were seasoned perfectly. Some might call this place a "hole-in-the-wall" but I think of it more as an un/re-discovered gem. The beer was cold, food was great, and it is on the lake. Winning all around. Was great from the owners conversation, to the sweet waitress, to the chef. Really good people!

There is a certain energy in a restaurant when people trust it, and Creekside has that. We started with the crab and shrimp dip, which came out hot, creamy, and loaded with flavor. It is one of those appetizers that everyone at the table keeps going back to without even thinking about it. For dinner, we ordered the Red Snapper Alexander and the chicken cutlet parmesan, and this is where the night really took off. The red snapper was cooked perfectly, topped with sautéed shrimp in a white wine sauce that added flavor without overwhelming the fish. The balance was impressive, and the presentation matched what you would expect from a much higher priced restaurant. Then there was the chicken parmesan. As Italians, we do not say this lightly, but this dish stood out in a big way. Creekside blends Alfredo and marinara into a creamy, well-balanced sauce that takes a classic and elevates it. The chicken was lightly breaded, the mozzarella was fresh, and every bite delivered. We awarded this dish our Best of the Best for Chicken Parmesan, and that is something we reserve for dishes that truly separate themselves from the rest. Service was excellent throughout the night. Our server Erin was attentive, knowledgeable, and helped guide us to some great choices. One small note, the fish and chips did not quite match the level we had experienced on a previous visit. It was still good, just not at the same level we had come to expect. That said, it did not take away from what was otherwise a fantastic meal. If you are looking for a place that delivers an upscale feel without the upscale price tag, this is it. Great for date nights, family dinners, or just a night out where you want consistently good food.

In my quest to check out new coffee shops, I thought I'd pop by and check out Armor Coffee…read more I liked it, although it doesn't look or feel like a coffee shop - it really is more like a fast-casual full service restaurant. You order at the front counter - there was a very long line during my visit. I think things were held up by the fact that there was a paper menu, and also a digital display board menu (sight lines were poor though) and the menus didn't match! Employees didn't seem sure which menu was "accurate" which slowed down ordering for everyone. Once I'd ordered and selected a table, service was great. They bring your order to the table with the matching number. Bathrooms were clean. They had a separate room for groups to meet. Overall, it's a cool space. Again, it didn't feel like a coffee shop. If you're just popping in for a cup of coffee, it'll probably feel like "too much" but if you want a full breakfast experience, it's perfect.

I ordered the cookie butter with coconut milk, not something I'd usually get. Again, it was FINE but not my favorite. The roast was flavorful and not burnt like other franchises (cough*starbucks*cough) and it wasn't overly sweet (I ordered 3/4 pump) , but it just didn't have any distinct flavor that made me go "yum!" My daughter ordered a White Sands because they told her it was cake-flavored. She said it was good, but no cake vibes were detected. She also ordered a breakfast sandwich which was filling and hot/fresh, but pretty basic. Would I visit again when I'm in Wylie? Yes! But next time I'll try something that's not on the signature line.

I tried the biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs today which includes pancakes. I got regular pancakes and my wife had the gluten free. I can't find a good biscuit and gravy place but theirs is really good! Eggs were cooked correct at over medium. Pancakes were great last time but even better today. I asked for warm syrup which only magnified the great taste of their pancakes. I don't have any personal interest in this place other than I want an excellent place to take my wife. I spent 14 years in the restaurant business when I was younger and I want the type of service and quality of food that I deserve and pay for. If you are looking for a great place for breakfast, this is it!!! Also....ask for Trixi. She is great. You absolutely feel welcome at this location.
