Let me start out saying it's a boathouse, not a fine dining Michelin Star kind of place. When you put it in perspective I rate this place a "good" category, because what this place does really well is provide a fun, safe, atmosphere to dock your boat and grab a pretty ok bite to eat and/or drinks and get entertained. Tonight I had the Southwest Eggrolls Appetizer and the for my main, I got a Breakfast Sandwich. Both were good! They excel in Customer service. I was really impressed with our server and she did an excellent job with our big party. A couple of quick suggestions they could instantly improve upon...1) fans our on the patio/deck. I told my husband I wanted to do something different last Sunday and we decided to have a drink at the lake, a quick search helped me find The Boathouse. To know: if you're going to the restaurant you don't have to pay day use fee at Lavon. $5 highnoons- we're already in. Deck seating was super comfortable, even midday in August. Food: mozzarella sticks- look I expected bar food. They were perfectly cooked! Not greasy. Not burnt. PERFECT. and they come with ranch AND marinara. Burger- just the way I like it. LTPO mayo and mustard, and this seems silly, but they put the mayo and mustard ON the burger, not in a cup/packet where you have to do it yourself. This was every burger I've been looking for in Dallas. No egg, no special sauce, no wierd ass extra stuff. A perfect burger. And the fries were great as well. Again, not greasy, well cooked. Not too thin, not to thick. The best part was Cailey (spelling?). She took amazing care of us. You can tell she really loves this spot. I know the feeling. Being a full time educator, having a job like this on the side is a break. As a nurse, I do the same. She told us all about the other businesses the owners have, the schedule, the upcoming events. The Boathouse at Collin Park Marina is one of my favorite summer spots on Lake Lavon! It's a seasonal restaurant (open from around Memorial Day through Labor Day) that sits directly on the water, which makes it perfect whether you're coming in by boat or driving in. Boaters can tie up at the on-the-water parking, and if you're arriving by land there's plenty of parking in the lot. The menu is casual but solid (fresh salads, juicy burgers, Nashville hot sandwiches, and a few other favorites). Family-owned and operated, and the service has always been friendly and laid-back, just like a good lake day should be. They also make it fun with karaoke nights and live music during the season, which adds to the atmosphere and makes it a great place to hang out with friends or family. And here's a cool bonus: once the lake season winds down, you can still support the family by visiting their Kadee Farm in Greenville, TX for the fall pumpkin patch or Christmas tree farm in the winter. If you're out at Lake Lavon, The Boathouse is definitely worth checking out: good food, fun vibes, and a true local gem. We wandered around the lake and stumbled upon The Boathouse on a busy Sunday evening. The restaurant was lively! A few tables for outdoor seating, and a handful indoors if you prefer to enjoy the AC. Our server, Megan, was attentive, and made sure we were taken care of. I ordered the cheeseburger (came with fries), and my fiancé ordered the patty melt. The cheeseburger was good. The meals were very generously sized. Lots of families enjoying their meals here after a long day out on the lake! read more

Located within the Collin County Park Marina on Lake Lavon there is a gatehouse that is staffed but they will waive your admission fee if you simply let them know you are just going to the restaurant. Parking close to the restaurant can be challenging as this is an active marina as well as a county park. But you can park easily within walking distance. That being said your access to the restaurant is via walkways to the marina boat slips. The restaurant is literally on the water so you'll have boaters, park goers etc all around. It's a nice atmosphere. The restaurant food, they have a fairly large menu of offerings from appetizers , burgers & regular entrees as well as specials. For those seeking to enjoy beverages, they have what I interpret as plenty of choices for adult beverages as well as the regular soda options. Staff are attentive & working constantly to ensure customers are served. Burger we enjoyed was the Bleu Cheese which came with fries & an appetizer of cream cheese filled pepper slices all of which were delicious. We'll definitely go back and they also have live music at times as well. read more

Came for lunch. Nice little unassuming restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, although it was too hot for us to sit out. Bacon blue cheese burger, Nashville hot chicken, and the Philly were all good. Rum punch and jalapeño pineapple margarita were good too. Our server was friendly and did her job well. We've ate here twice now while boating on lake Lavon. Easy to tie up, dock and restaurant are clean, and the staff is very friendly. They have clean high chairs for the kiddos. Everything we've had there is delicious. Mostly we get chips and queso blanco and the quesadillas. Be sure to try their house margarita or frozen! Our friend had the Philly cheesesteak today and said it's the best he's ever had. Definitely stop here for lunch or dinner if you are on the lake! read more

The lakeside appeal isn't what makes this place great, that fault lies within the walls and is attributed to a pair of family friendly owners who are turning this place around. I had the burger of the week which was a hatch green chili burger with a side of fries. The burger was cooked very well, and fries were seasoned perfectly. Some might call this place a "hole-in-the-wall" but I think of it more as an un/re-discovered gem. The beer was cold, food was great, and it is on the lake. Winning all around. Was great from the owners conversation, to the sweet waitress, to the chef. Really good people! read more

We went for lunch today. Excellent service (Sabrina), and good food. Not busy at all. Just us and 2 sheriff. Lots of food for the price. We tried the Elote French Fries as an appetizer and they were very good. Got the Fried Shrimp Platter, and my Granddaughter got the Patty Melt. They were both good. My daughter got the Queso Nachos and added chicken. She said they were good, but she would try something else next time. Highly recommend trying it for lunch. read more
