Had a nice relaxing lunch with my husband. He got the beef stew which he enjoyed said it was a little spicy but that probably means well seasoned. I had the grilled chicken salad. This review is in response to Josh H's poor review regarding Laurel at the Bacchus Pub. I would like to point out a few things that he forgot to include in his review. Josh threatened to not pay for his $21 bar tab. He also forgot to mention that after the incident occurred in which he became offended he poured his entire beer out in the corner of the pub right before he left to stick-it-to-me. As he left he was throwing out multiple crass verbal insults. The reason why he was so mad? He asked my opinion on what the best things about the bars that I have been to were. I made a joke and said: "You're going to have to pay me for that." And then I walked down the bar to put away some dishes. Up until this point, we had been in conversation about where the best places to go are in Bozeman, and what spots he should hit before they left town. I gave my best recommendations for him and the woman he was with: Paradise Valley for scenery, Damselfly for the lady to pick up something nice if she felt like she wanted to shop, the Bozeman hot springs even though it was hot - it could be cool to visit. When I came back over to ask the couple if they needed anything else, he began to swear at me and call me names. Realizing he was upset, I apologized. He responded with, "No you're not." I told him I was sorry again. I am sorry that there was a misunderstanding of this magnitude, but it is simply inaccurate for Josh H. to leave a poor review of the Bacchus Pub when it is one of the best places in Bozeman to stop and have a drink or a meal. read more

Worst service ever!!! Seat yourself service...my boyfriend and I took a seat on the patio and after 15 minutes of nobody acknowledging us I waved at the waitress through the window waited another 5 minutes not sure that she saw me I let a bartender know that we were outside, took a seat waited another 10 minutes still nobody...went back inside asked another server if they were serving on the patio she said yes and I responded nicely that we had been waiting a little bit and we're ready to order shortly after a group of 4 sat down and then a family waited 10 more minutes and a server finally came out with waters for the table of 4 she dropped us off 1 water on her way back in and said she would be right back out on her 2nd trip out she gave water to the family and again did not acknowledge us even though we were there first and had been waiting well over half an hour. We ended up leaving and did not order!!! read more

We had stopped here for beers and a quick bite before, but made sure to try dinner this time around. It did not disappoint. My burger was perfectly cooked (and medium rare is rarely done right), and my wife's salad was enormous and delicious. The bar staff are always friendly, though I typically feel bad asking them to read off the beers they do so readily. My only complaint was that they did karaoke the night we were there and it was insanely loud. We would have stayed longer but for that. read more

3.25 stars had the nevada city burger which is topped with pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, bacon, avocado, and house-made chipotle aioli. everything about it was good, meaning the toppings were fresh, the burger had decent flavor, and the fries were tasty. definitely a good burger when you need a fix. still... it's not anything to write home about. but remember that i am a rochestarian and am ruthless when it comes to burgs. i think the typical consumer would consider it a fantastic find. drank the rough mule and really enjoyed the copper mug. it really leaned into the flavor of the drink in a fun way. my complaints are that the burger was well done when i asked for it medium and that the server messed up our drink order, charging and bringing an old fashioned instead of a moscow mule. overall i liked the feel of the place. it had a good mix of ages and even though it was karaoke night, i could still hear myself think. i'll be back for a late nighter. read more

Very friendly staff and great location. Enjoyed the scenery while sitting on the patio. The burger was very juicy, as a matter of fact, the first bite resulted in a spray of fat onto the people at the next table and a load of grease on my shirt. The kettle chip was awesome. My favorite spot for drinks and curry fries. This place is so cozy on freezing winter nights (as long as you aren't right near the door) and the staff are on their game. Came here for lunch and was disappointed! The Drinks and food was good, but the service was beyond bad... We ordered a burger, sandwich, curry fries and Moscow Mules. They brought out our food after a decent wait, but not the appetizer (curry fries) we ordered, I couldn't flag down a waiter to stop that order thinking they forgot and not wanting to be charged for something we did not get. At the very end of our meal, the waiter brought over Curry Fries to the table NEXT to us and after they said they didn't order them, we said, those are ours. I had to get a to-go box for them because we were full from our lunch. Leftover fries are NOT the business, so I was severely disappointed that I didn't get to experience them like I was anticipating. Probably won't be returning. read more

The burger here was delicious -- I had the "Nevada City" -- and all of the components seemed fresh and high quality (the bacon was especially good). I had the amber and cold smoke scotch beers, both were excellent. Nice atmosphere. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly. Probably my favorite bar in town! My service has never been superb (taking forever to get drinks, forgotten drinks then made up with by free drinks), but Bacchus makes up for it with tasty food. I recommend their chicken sandwich. It's usually a loud, popular place but always a good time! read more

In the Baxter Hotel, this place was nice to hang out in and have a beer (seemed to be same list as Ted's). We sat in old church pews and talked for awhile. I would have to try the menu to give another star (we had already had a great meal at Ted's) as we weren't there for more than a couple drinks. The waiters were nice, the beer was cold, and the decor was like an old brewpub in London. This seems to be a hot spot in town and the next afternoon we walked past and saw a wedding party having a meal in there as the bride and groom took photos out front. Food might be acceptable if you've had 3 overpriced drinks beforehand. It's a good looking pub and fine for drinking. There is a patio that's open in the summer. However, the food isn't good! I've been there several times to eat and it only disappoints. The service is fine until the place is about a third full. It falls off dramatically at that point. If you're looking for pretty waitresses, you won't be disappointed. Just don't expect good service. read more

I was looking forward to dinner on the patio tonight as the weather was perfect. Unfortunately everyone else had the same idea. Surprisingly the inside only had about 5 tables occupied. We sat at a table across from the bar and looked over the beer selection and were ready to order. There were 3 girls and 1 guy on the floor in addition to the bartenders. After 9 minutes of sitting there AFTER we closed the drink menu we were never acknowledged. We left slowly in hopes that someone would throw out the "oh hey sorry, I'll be right with you" two of the girls turned their backs on us when we were leaving. Looking forward to trying it again, it has a great atmosphere and what looked like a tasty menu. read more

This is the second time I have been to Bozeman. I looked on line to see what restaurants were available to go to, to eat and have a few drinks. I saw Bacchus Pub and liked the menu and what seemed like a good environment and fun place to go with a great history. My boyfriend and I go in and the place is busy. We see a seat and our waitress said to go ahead and sit down and she would get it cleaned up. She was quick to clean the table and get us drink menus. When she brought the drink menu she asked if we wanted to eat. We said yes and she brought us back food menus. We made our decision and pushed our menus to the edge of the table. When she came back with our drinks about 7 minutes later she never asked us what we wanted to eat. She walked away and talked to the group of guys next to us for 4-5 minutes. She walked past us a few more times and did not take our order. She finally came back and said did you want to order food before the kitchen closes in 5 minutes. We had already waited for about 15-20 minutes and decided to leave because to us it was clear that food would have been an inconvenience. We would have never ordered the drinks if we thought we wouldn't be getting food. She brought the bill and I put the money in the book. Meanwhile she was now sitting at the table with the guys next to us and was still there when we got up and left. I'm a bar manager and understand being busy and being extra friendly to get bigger tips. We felt that we were an inconvenience because we wanted to order food and that we weren't guys to be flirted with. That was not a good first impression. read more
