We are regulars here. Well, as regular as we are any place else. Our order is the same every time. Strut burger and fried chicken sandwich with a bit of extra white Alabama sauce. Cut them in half and we can each enjoy both. We LOVE the food! The drinks are usually top notch also. And, the service is usually good. But, this time. WOW! Chloe absolutely knocked it out of the park with super service. I see the review that the guy says it's not worth the price and I have to totally disagree. I'd recommend Baby's highly! read more

We tried baby's tonight and it didn't disappoint! The milkshake will definitely bring the boys to the yard The food was amazing, I love that they don't have a lot of things of their menu but what they have is delicious and very good Keep in mind that most of their food come quick but if someone in your group gets the broasted chicken, which takes 30 mins to be prepared, then all the food from your group will come 30 mins later but it was sooooo worth that 30 mins wait I love that they are well diverse and very welcoming to all kinds/types of people they even have play area outdoor for the kiddos We will definitely come back again! 100% recommended read more

A fun atmosphere - perfect for a night out with friends. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and makes great recommendations. We all had different drink preferences and they worked with the first timers to ensure they selected something they would like, without making anyone feel rushed or like an inconvenience. We tried everything from the veggie burger to the chicken cutlets and nothing went uneaten! read more

Listen. I'm going to start by saying this is a cute little spot! And if you're an old time Hoosier that is familiar with the area, seeing it being next to where "Talbott street" queer club used to be is somewhat bittersweet but cool to see something being done in the area! When Me and my gf went, it was summer of 2020 when covid was still taken over and it was our first outing in a long time. We had our temperatures check and everyone was 6ft apart. Every staff member was wearing masks and still super friendly given the discomfort of being close to people who didn't have on masks. True riders, if you ask me. There was indoor dining and outside. We dined outside for our comfort and it being a nice day! I'm not big on ordering custom things because my anxiety definitely says that's not happening no matter how much we rehearse in our heads. So I ordered a simple double bacon burger and fries. I would say this reminds me of steak and shake burgers, a diner spin. Thinly sliced patties and extra room to pack toppings. Which I like! A tasty burger! Simple and to the point with taste. Which is a good start to test the waters of a burger for me. I would love to come back to try more items, especially their milkshakes and to also sit inside and experience the dining decor. All in all, a good place to bring either a date or a group. Even going by yourself! Pretty chill and good customer service and variety of foods depending on your stomach capacity. read more

It was a great ambiance but wow the food was not good. I don't often say the food somewhere is bad but.... we couldn't even finish our meals. It was also very expensive for what we got. I'm so sad about this because we love supporting local restaurants. read more

We've been patronizing this restaurant for a while and they've always have pretty good service and food. This time around we decided to eat at their open patio which is covered and heated. I really enjoyed that the patio was heated but they had open portions of the patio windows to allow fresh air to flow through. That made me very comfortable. They do temperature checks, social distancing, everyone wore a mask. During our time here our waitress was very nice and attentive. She gave us great service and even brought our toddlers water while we all waited for our food and drinks. The food is always fresh and hot here. We keep coming back because they seem to treat their customers the right way. Parking is out front on the street and there is a parking lot right across from the restaurant that you can use as well. Great place to eat and enjoy. read more

Baby's has a great old school diner vibe with delicious food and drinks. There is a great outdoor patio... dogs and kids welcome! All covid protocols were followed. The jumbo chicken tenders are just that! They are crispy and juicy, and the dazzle sauce is the perfect compliment. The side of mac n cheese was creamy with a hint of spice. read more

I literally downloaded the yelp app because I was so compelled to write this review. I just left baby's and will never be returning, despite living around the corner and having previously enjoyed the restaurant, even with frequent issues with service. Me and two friends waited over an hour and a half for our food. Two burgers, two fries, and a kids meal. It took so long that we decided to ask for our food to-go because we had other plans after. We then continued to wait another 25 minutes for our to-go food. We finally receive the food and get home, and half of our food is missing. None of our sides of fries or the sauces we paid for were in our to-go order. We paid almost $90 to sit and wait for over an hour and a half, get our food TO-GO after waiting forever, and then have half of it be missing when we got home. Absolutely absurd, not sure what is so difficult about making burgers and fries at a place that is known for burgers and fries. While our server was kind and it wasn't his fault, this was totally unacceptable. read more

We were so excited to try Baby's since we found out they had vegan options, and man it did NOT disappoint!! The restaurant is located on the corner of 22nd / Talbot street, cute outside exterior with a fun outdoor patio PLUS an enclosed heated indoor patio. Super fun decor! When you walk in, you go to a table, scan a QR code, and the menu pulls up on your phone. Then you go to the counter and place your order. We got the veggie burger with vegan cheese, an order of onion rings, fries, and dairy free milkshakes (one toasted marshmallow / chocolate and one strawberry cheesecake). Guys, the food came out SO fast and Everything tasted AMAZING! They also have lots of other types of burgers / sandwiches / chicken etc. so something for everyone really. I think the outdoor patio will be really fun in the summer! This is such an awesome concept and great addition to the Indy restaurant scene! 5 stars! read more

Fun place I happened upon while visiting from out of state. Was greeted upon entry by friendly staff. My order was taken and received in a timely manner. Fun place to come to sit out on the patio and enjoy the weather! It has a super cute interior as well. I really like their unique boozy milkshake menu in which you can design your own by picking the flavor of shooter. It was really good and pretty filling as well. Our waiter was helpful in coming up with the best combinations. I'd like to come back for their drag brunches or when their kitchen is still open! read more

I came here with my sister, mom, and boyfriend the other night. I had been wanting to check it out for a while and finally got the opportunity. I would say it's a cross between fast food and a diner vibe. You go up to the counter to order and then they bring your food to your table. They have an full bar with some cool cocktails. My boyfriend and I ordered make your own burgers. They serve them smashed and I got the vegetarian beyond meat option. Overall my burger was pretty good. I didn't like the aioli sauce I chose for mine and next time I would order a different sauce. My mom and sisters got chicken tenders with fries and they both enjoyed their meals! We got the fried mushrooms as an appetizer and we did not like the fried mushrooms at all. They definitely didn't seem made in house and by the time they arrived at your table they were warm and soggy. Not hot and crispy like I would expect. Overall we had a pretty good experience and enjoyed our food. I love the ambiance inside and it gives you the opportunity to get some good Instagram pictures. It looks like they have a nice outdoor area so I definitely want to come back in the summer. read more

So we gave it another try Wednesday and the food was good. I got the vegan burger, fried mushrooms and non-dairy shake (blueberry lavender) and it was all good. I didn't care for the sprinkles on top of my shake, but overall it was good. I believe they switch the non-dairy shakes out regularly, so it could be a different flavor when you go. It's really cute inside. Pinks and silvers and shimmer, really lively. There is outdoor seating with heaters but we sat inside. When arriving no one greeted us in the door, they were standing behind the counter just looking. It is a seat yourself environment, but a nice "hello" would be a nice touch. Once you decide what you want you walk to the register to order, but they will bring it to your table when it's ready. The lady I spoke with and the gentleman that brought our food over were both pleasant. I would probably try it again. read more

Yep its us again! Mi Amor has been stalking this place and finally got the entire family there and it did NOT disappoint! The girls ordered milkshakes (strawberry, curious (caramel apple right now yum!), and non dairy). All three of them said they were amazing! I took sips of all of them and equally agree, although the texture of the non dairy is not as creamy (go figure lol) but I did not find myself missing the "milk" of the milkshake. Mi Amor and I both had smash burgers (me a single, him a double) with our favorite toppings. My burger was HUGE probably because of all my toppings but it was delicious! The fries are some of the BEST fries I've ever had! They're shoestring style and were nice and crisp! For a drink we both had making herstory's. I don't know if I would order it again, but it wasn't terrible. Plus its on a draft which I think it part of my hesitation. My family loved it and we will definitely go again. It's SUPER family friendly and the staff is very helpful and friendly. read more

A fun family restaurant with burgers and chicken. It's in a great location and has a pink motif that my wife really enjoyed. They have plenty of tasty shakes and ice cream treats. Baby's is such a fun and bright atmosphere! Honestly, I marked it down as a place to bring a group. Why? It's a great local spot that brings a great smash burger experience. There is a intentionality in every element in the design. I went here in the winter but from looking over the reviews I want to come back and check out the patio vibe at a future date. The sauces were probably the most unique part of the experience. I tried three different of their homemade sauces and each of them were excellent elevations to the meal. Well I didn't try them in the milkshake, but you get the point. Overall, support your local burger place and head to Baby's! read more

Cute burger spot with a full bar and extensive patio seating. Ordering here is counter service so it has all the makings of a burger spot. My husband and I have been wanting to visit for such a long time, so we were excited for our trip. It didn't disappoint. We sat out on the covered patio. While super cute, the acoustics on a busy night were horrible. The food was good - the fries were incredible! The Bam burger was also good, but a little plain. Next time, I'll either add some toppings or try another entree. I didn't get to try any of their cocktails or tap list, but the offerings were good. I definitely want to return and try a cocktail and more of the menu. We will be back! read more

I visited Baby'a for their famous Drag Brunch during Pride Month! This event was special because this was the first time the performers performed together in about 10+ years I believe. If you want to go to a drag brunch (they're only once a month) follow baby's on Instagram, they share the details there. Now on to the food and experience. We entered the space and were seated immediately. Drag Brunch has a set menu so they asked if we had dietary restrictions and what drinks we wanted then the food came. The loaded fries are amazing. They were so good I wish I had my own plate. The fried chicken sandwich was okay. I got ranch instead of the white bbq sauce and that helped but it wasn't anything special. The milkshake was good. I liked the chocolate more than the curious (it was like a cotton candy flavor). They both were very flavorful and the right amount of thickness. The show was nice. The performers lip synced and some danced. Oh and make sure you bring some cash because you have to/should tip. I've never been to a drag show before but it seemed like it was more about giving them tips than actually seeing them preform. Either way the show was nice. read more

Baby's has recently updated their menu to include a few more staple burger options (previously they had the Strut burger and maybe a special one on a board) although there has always been the option to customize your own. There are vegan options here including vegan chicken tenders and vegan fried mushrooms with vegan ranch since my last review. Can confirm both are great options! They host Drag Brunches once a month, but they do sell out quickly. read more

Came to Baby's for the first time with a friend and I was pleasantly surprised. The minute I walked in I couldn't help but take in the cute pink retro diner vibes. One positive about this place is that there is plenty of parking as they have their own parking lot. Our server was super helpful and attentive as I told him it was my first time and if he had any recommendations. He stated since it was my first time I had to try a burger. The burger itself was delicious and the "sassy sauce" on it really packed a punch! I was excited to try Baby's after seeing some of the hype surrounding the establishment. I'm happy to report that my visit did not disappoint!! Baby's is conveniently located at 22nd and Talbott Street, just a few miles from downtown Indy. The moment you walk in, you will notice the laid-back, comfortable vibe Baby's has to offer. I appreciate the vintage look and feel, and according to their website, the "aesthetic gives a little wink to the past, and we hope to play a meaningful role in this area's future." I decided to sit at the bar and was greeted within moments by my server, Keegan - He was professional, friendly and did a great job. Zero complaints! I ordered the Smash Double Burger (American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle, Caramelized Onion, Ketchup and Mustard) and a side of Fries. The burger was prepared perfectly and was loaded with flavor. The fries were hot, crispy and had a good amount of seasoning. Looking forward to future visits at Baby's!! read more

I have been to Baby's a couple of times, but our most recent experience made it so we won't be going back any time soon. We arrived on a week night and there were other tables, but it wasn't a very busy night. The staff seemed a bit annoyed we were there and asked if we wanted our check while we were eating our meal? We have two children who were eating their food too; the comment made us feel rushed. The restaurant wasn't closing for another hour. Also, the chicken tenders used to be very different from what I remember having the times prior. The food was still good, but definitely not what is pictured in prior reviews on this page. To summarize, it wasn't a great dining experience when we were just having a family meal together. We didn't like feeling rushed for no reason. read more

I don't often dine out with children, but Baby's is a go-to for kids! My 4 year-old niece and I spent the morning at the Children's Museum and headed to nearby Baby's for a late lunch. All of the staff were so nice and welcoming - to me and my niece. They took her order as soon as we sat down so her food would come out quickly (hadn't thought about that). She got her chicken tenders and fries right away and my mom and I had time to peruse the menu while she ate. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and my mom got a burger - we cut both in half and split them. Both great! We also got fries, onion rings and Mac and cheese to share. The serving of fries was generous and I loved the breading. I'm not usually an onion ring fan, so I liked that these were smaller onions and the dipping sauce was really good. The Mac and cheese was cold and bland and pretty forgettable. Also got a strawberry milkshake to try and it was great! It looked like there was plenty of space inside - we sat in the insulated patio - and lots of outdoor seating. Service was quick and friendly! read more

I consider this a new wave diner and a must try if you enjoy burgers, chicken, fries, booze, and of course milkshakes! The bar is where I like to hang and the have a full dining area that is family friendly. Full bar with beer, wine, and spirits. I highly recommend trying a Boozy Milkshake, peanut butter was on point. Burger can be single thru triple and can be completely customized. Some of the toppings include caramelized onions, Gouda cheese, and jalapeños. Fries ordered separately, and of course I had to load them up after the bartender talked them up. Thin crispy fries with tasty toppings! If you enjoy a good sandwich and fries kind of place or love milkshakes this is right up your alley. read more

Stopped into Baby's a few weeks back to simply get a dessert - aka a boozy milkshake. I hadn't even seen Baby's at this point - so as we drove down 22nd street and turned down on Talbott I was taken aback. During the night - the view of the restaurant was just so cute. It looks like an old-school diner you would see in the 50s. I was immediately drawn to the outdoor patio space and cannot wait to get back to enjoy that. We sat at the bar and had a very friendly bartender. She explained to us how the milkshakes worked and how we could order different liquors than recipes called for but explained this tended to just end up tasting very boozy. I kept it simple and stuck with the dairy free option they had available (they change!) which was French Vanilla and got the Hazelnut flavor which was cognac and liqueur added in. It was delicious and I slurped it down easily. I am looking forward to returning to this place (or ordering carryout!) ASAP. read more

Food was fantastic! Family friendly with a great ambiance. My family and I will definitely be back.

I love having a neighborhood spot like Baby's! I've been three or four times now and I've always had a really fun experience and great food! My favorite thing so far has been the chicken- it is so good! The half chicken is perfect size if you want to split it with someone and add a side or I ate just the chicken last time I was in (lol). I've had the salad and the slaw, and they were good but nothing to write home about. Seriously- I'm here for the chicken. The drinks at Baby's are also amazing! The specials are fun and the boozy milkshakes are a little pricey but delicious for a splurge. Be sure to ask the bartender or server about the special drinks and what you are looking for. They've got a great cider (can't remember the brand right now) and my new/old favorite- grapefruit beer! If you are a chi-mek fan then this is that that you know and love. The last thing I will say is that Baby's is just really fun. Fun atmosphere, fun people, fun decor! I'm so glad Talbott St. is able to have such a thoughtful and delicious addition to the neighborhood. read more

If you build a restaurant with a playground outside, the parents will come. I mean, it worked for me! I had to drive 30 minutes to get to Baby's during rush hour traffic, but the promise of a restaurant where I could relax and get a meal and a drink, and where my kids could just play while I relax and get meal and a drink, was too good to pass up. Have you ever been a parent? Do you know how hard it is to take a child to a restaurant and actually have a good time? If so, then you would agree with me that Baby's has the right idea: create a kid-friendly, family-friendly place to relax, play and eat a meal. Offer good food. And that's it, really -- that's all you need to do, and the parents will come. So, they have a little playground on astroturf that's accessible from the patio seating. Parents: Opt for the patio seating and don't worry if it's cold outside, because Baby's has outdoor heaters that will keep you warm. They also have magnetic tables and magnetic tiles that kids can play with. I love it! My kids spent most of their time building houses (when they weren't playing on the playground), and pretty much zero time complaining to me that they were bored. Yes! More time for me to actually enjoy my meal. I ordered the regular smash burger, and I was able to customize it how I wanted. They have things like grilled onions and pickled jalapeños, so of course I got both. We got our fries "glitzed up" and ordered them Talbott Street Style: They came topped with white cheese sauce, bacon bits, white bbq sauce and pickled jalapeños. I also ordered the vegan milkshake, and the flavor of the day was key lime, so of course I got that. It was delicious and fabulously tart, but be aware that it is way thinner in consistency than a dairy shake because it is made with coconut cream. I got the boozy shake, but honesty, I couldn't even tell it had any booze in it! (Does that say more about me and my liver or the way Baby's makes their boozy shakes -- who knows?!) Next time, I will save money and just get the vegan shake without booze. The showstopper of the evening was the Sriracha Broccoli Slaw. I am seriously thinking about getting more as I write this review, because it was excellent. I highly recommend getting the slaw here! The service was top-notch, too. Our server was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu, and he was very attentive and friendly. We had a great time and we will definitely be back again. read more
