Purp margs were good but Rubi made a fake complaint about my dog sitting in a seat claiming a customer complained. There were zero customers there. Rubi is full of doobies if you ask me

I haven't been here in years but when my cousin was in from out of town looking for a nearby Tex Mex place and one of her daughter's soccer teammate parents mentioned they ate there, I figured we'd give it a try. The food was ok. My soup was lacking in a bit of flavor. My cousin did like her vegetarian enchiladas and the purple margarita. My niece said the fries didn't have any salt and didn't seem to like her cheese quesadillas. The service was great and timely! The inside decor was a little dated and didn't give the cleanest of vibes. For example, the stand up menu on the table was dirty. The place did start to get full as we were leaving so I may come back again and try some other items.

The tacos are so good. The pork carnitas tender and juicy. Service is fast and friendly. The waitress answered my questions and suggested a dish that turned out to be my new favorite. The street corn is very good. I love the atmosphere. Not too fancy but definitely not a dive.

This is what I they gave me as a $9.99 nachos! Besides that one of the people that came and spoke to us was coughing. Stay away from this place

In two ways, I agree with some of the negative reviews- I can't say much for the service or price. It wasn't HORRIBLE, but I would describe it as barely adequate. However, this is still getting four stars because of the food and drink! Man, we enjoyed this a lot. We got the dip and fajitas and enjoyed it thoroughly. One thing I really appreciated is how good the individual elements were. The meat was treated well, the beans and rice were good, and the cheese dip was awesome. Even the pico was delicious- chewing individual tomato chunks in a fajita gave so much flavor! Food was plentiful and we ate to our heart's content. The drinks are delicious- beware, though, they're creepers! There's a high alcohol content. I wouldn't recommend this as a pre-drinking stop. For us, lunch and a couple margaritas followed by a nap was perfect. We will be back!

We took our teenage son for dinner to Baby Acapulco on a Wednesday evening around 5:30pm. We used to frequent this location prior to covid so it had been a while. There was plenty of seating and very spacious. The main seating area was very clean and looked welcoming with the bright yellow seating. I ordered a sangria swirl margarita & it was delicious! They do have a happy hour special till 6pm so $2 off frozen margaritas. They do not have a variety of tap beer just the basics. Hopefully they can get a IPA in there soon:) Our waiter was Jorge and he was very sweet & attentive to our table. We had the happy hour queso for $5 and it was a good size serving for the 3 of us.There wasn't an actual happy hour menu we were told by Jorge the specials. We couldn't even find it online just the drinks. All of our man dishes were on point, from the presentation to the flavor! I highly recommend the tortilla soup combo. I'm glad we decided to give this location another try, it really has improved.

The service makes this place worth 5 stars. They really do care for their customers. However the food isn't that great. Orientation of the food was pretty solid. Drinks are always good and the bar area is a good time.

Took my daughter to Baby A's for drinks and tacos to celebrate her 21st birthday. First we were pleased to find out that happy hour is from 2 - closing on Mondays. Then our waiter, Preston, told us about the happy hour menu. We ordered the street tacos and that purple drink . (Who in the world can drink two of those?) The chips and salsa was . I also ordered the tortilla soup to go. Overall we had a great time, in part to the stellar service we received from Preston . He was sweet, courteous, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The parking leaves a bit to be desired but I will be back for the AMOR-ES TACOS! Ask for Preston!

The building is falling apart and there was a hair in my food. I'm sitting hear getting grilled by my gf because of the blood splatter on the wall at the table next to us.

I've driven by El Alma many times being in the Austin area, but I never went until last Thursday, and after surviving a brief monsoon, I was glad to get a few drinks and eat some good TexMex with my large party just before a wedding. The best way to describe El Alma is that it is TexMex that is Austinified. Everything feels a little more unique and special than your classic TexMex options. I started off with a Mezcal Margarita that put a little hair on my chest and got me going. My group ordered two of their Nachitos, which were these nice nachos. For my main entrée, I got 3 Al Pastor tacos on corn with a side of their rice and beans. Their pastor was served with pineapples, onions, and cilantro with limes on the side. They were great and I immediately crushed them all. I thought their rice and beans were pretty good as well and a step above the typical TexMex rice and beans. The server was pretty attentive throughout our whole visit, and I honestly have no complaints about what they had to offer. Pricing on the meal and drinks was pretty standard for Austin, and I didn't think anything really took me out of the experience. On top of that, for being in Barton Springs, there is quite a bit of parking. I would love to come back at some point in the future and hang out on their rooftop bar because that seems like a lot of fun. Shoutout to El Alma for being a TexMex oasis saving me from the MoPac traffic. RIYL: TexMex, but better than your average
