Breakfast sandwich on English muffin. The egg is fused to the bacon.
    Quijana B.

Breakfast while traveling can be difficult. You don't want to go hungry, because you're never certain when it where your next meal might be found. You also don't want to over eat, just in case the next meal is amazing. Breakfast sets the pace for the rest of the day, so it's important to get bit just right. All of which is to say- if you are traveling anywhere but a nearby napping space you might want to skip ordering a platter at Babes for breakfast! Stick with a breakfast sandwich and you'll be full enough, I promise! Babes is whatever is just below a greasy spoon. Is there such a thing as a "dive diner?" Service is spotty, the parking lot is crowded, and the lighting is low. The portions and the flavors are worth the stop as long as you can look beyond the issues. So much so that we were Disappointed when our trip didn't provide time for a return visit. My mother had the breakfast sandwich and was amazed at its massive size. We loved the way it was constructed, with the egg fried directly on top of the bacon. It ensured that she had bacon in every bite. I'm the fool who tried to eat an entire platter on my own. I eventually gave up and regretted that I could not store the potatoes for later. They were truly delicious. PS- the menu photos here are correct. The menu link is for a different restaurant.

Good size menu and portions, but leaves a lot to be desired. But I often will judge a diner based on their home fries are and at Babe's they are some of the worst I've ever had. They are basically sliced potatoes slightly cooked with no seasoning or crisp to them. The omelette was decent enough, the Italian bread toast was either a day or two old or I got stuck w the heels. Pancakes while on the pricey side for a stack were decent. Definitely not the best. Coffee was classic diner style joe, I enjoyed Spacious booth and plenty of seating and they are always open which is neat. Waitress was nice. Kitchen got backed up several times and different items came out separately to several tables. Not the biggest of deals. $35+ for two for breakfast and not feeling satisfied is hard for me to swallow bc I love breakfast. But I shall give it another try bc it has potential to win me over.

Sink coming away fro wall. 1" of caulking.

So many things wrong. Few were right.when walking in, I first thought the place was shut down for renovations. And it does need an overhaul. Bathroom was gross. Coffee cup was cracked and the waitress put the cup filled on table but with her fingers all across the rim where I drink from after handling cash from other patrons. Won't be back.

Disgusting, urine stained, covered in pubic hair and dust. Looks as though it hasn't been cleaned in weeks.

A real disappointment. My wikd mushroom eggs Benedict on the menu said Poplaced it on customer plates. My kids french toast and pancakes were good. Server complained about always being understaffed. The place was filthy. Bathroom bordered repulsivertobello, Shitake and white mushrooms. I got just white mushrooms. Eggs were hard boiled. Cook picked up bacon with his bare hands and

Went on a Sunday morning for a quick breakfast. Pros: plenty of open tables. Fast service. Waitress went out of her way to help us find a safety pin. Large portions the omelettes were huge. The chocolate chip pancakes were huge and loaded with chips. We were in and out in 1/2 hour. Cons: the home fries were bland I was surprised at how empty the place was on a Sunday morning.

Went here for breakfast on a Sunday and the place was busy. Service was quick and the portions were huge. We saw people leaving with doggie bags. The prices were a little high but you won't leave hungry.

I like to judge for myself, and this place is no exception. My husband and I were in town for a memorial service. We had not eaten dinner and decided to just find a place on yelp that people rave about. I was not familiar with the area so this place popped up with great reviews. We took a chance and it paid off! We blew right by the place twice because it didn't look like a restaurant, it just looked like a tiny old house with a few cars parked out in front. It has a very small parking lot, maybe up to a dozen cars can fit. There is a sign out front off to one side. We walked in and we were pointed to a booth. There are not many booths and only a couple of tables. There was only two other people in the whole place eating there. The walls are very plain and the booths were reminiscent of my grandparents picnic table. Plastic covering and all! The young man who waited on us was super friendly! We joked back-and-forth and the menus were given to us and as soon as I asked if breakfast were all day, and he said yes, I knew exactly what I wanted! There are plenty of options although I didn't see anything on there for gluten-free. Not that I am but I know others would want to know. Basically it's a straightforward menu and I do believe this is a Guatemalan restaurant? There are a few things on the menu I couldn't pronounce but the ingredients in the dish sounded amazing! I just knew I wanted breakfast. They have the typical items for breakfast and the eggs were perfectly done, the home fries were a nice helping and the blueberry pancake was nice and light and fluffy. The coffee was great. I do believe it is small family owned and run. The two people we did speak to who were working there at the time we're a very kind and accommodating and breakfast was done quickly. I definitely recommend this place. On a sidenote the only thing that I found was that when I left, my clothes and my husband's clothes had a strong odor of diner. But that's to be expected in a small enclosed area. We were going home anyway so we didn't care. We went there about six or 630 at night but I can imagine on a Saturday or Sunday morning that place must be hopping! He did say it does get busy. They do have takeout available. Definitely worth a try and if I'm ever back in the area I will be revisiting!

We have been here several times & it feels like the kind of diner you grew up going to: cozy seating, familiar faces & that unmistakable "welcome home" energy the moment you walk through the door. For the #BestBreakfastSandwich, I ordered the grilled English muffin with sausage, American cheese & egg. Hubby selected the Western (ham, onions, peppers & cheese). We couldn't not order the absolutely delicious & HUGE side helping of home fries. The breakfast sandwiches were hearty & satisfying. You can tell they rely on fresh, local ingredients where they can because the flavors pop in that unpretentious, "this is real food" kind of way. The home fries had this gorgeous grilled crisp on top that made it impossible not to eat every single bite! The service was friendly & warm, where everyone seems happy to be there & they treat you like a regular, even if it is your first visit. My favorite part: when our lovely server came over with a to-go coffee container & said that it was part of the coffee service. Hubby was so happy! The hollandaise sauce was broken with an odd orange color and smoky flavor, and the potatoes were mushy and unappetizing. Overall, the food quality was a big disappointment. The only reason this is getting two stars is because the service was genuinely great. Otherwise, I'd suggest finding another spot for breakfast, or hopefully ownership can bring in a cook who knows how to execute classic breakfast dishes properly.

Nothing fancy. As it was, there were not many tables taken at that time yet. But within 30 minutes the place packed up. It was locals who know this is a the place to go, grab a beer or cocktail, then sit down and wait to see what you ordered. Burgundian is a meal to enjoy while having conversations with many others. We started with the IPA beers we ordered. They also had good German beers to select. There are even other European beers available. The list is endless to have. First up to arrive was our Traditional Canadian Poutine. This is House Fries served with Cheddar Cheese Curds, hot beef gravy and fresh scallions. This can be a meal unto itself and is ideal with the beer. We also received a kids meal for a little one. It was chicken fingers and fries. It was so large an adult could have had this for dinner. There was enough left for the next day's lunch. It was fresh, tasty, breaded, and warm. Ideal. There was also Burgundian App Sampler Platter. This was a mix of 2 Arancini, 2 Halloumi Cheese Sticks, 2 Crispy Polenta "Fries" , 2 Wings served with a choice of dips. Again, it could have been a dinner, but with others it was a good dish to share while waiting for the dinner to arrive. We started with US Staycation Burger, switching the beef with chicken. It had melty Three Cheese Blend, Shredded Lettuce , Pickles, and topped with Burgundian mayo. Naturally there was a side of fries and a small salad. It was fresh and tasty and had a flavor to enjoy. Naturally, had to have Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles. Buttermilk-Fried Chicken Thigh coated in house seasoning. There was creamy Memphis slaw, a spicy sauce you can select and a good hot honey drizzle. The waffle was fresh and enjoyable and ideal for breakfast as well. This was perfect for dinner or breakfast or anytime of the day. One special they did have, and which is not easy to find, is a good Germany Burgundian Currywurst Sausage Dog. Made with a true grilled Knockwurst Sausage it is on a toasted roll that is topped with smoked gouda cheese and caramelized onions. There is curried ketchup which is a variation of what you do find when you order this in Berlin. It too had fries on the side. The taste was good. It was similar to what I remember when living in Germany. And it is a rare find in many restaurants. But here it was. And with a German beer, it was good. Overall, Burgundian is a place to find. It is not easy, but it is there. It is small and simple. You enter and order at the counter. You can go from Beer to a coffee. From an Appy to a meal. The portions are large. The prices are good. The team is good to work with, ask questions and help. This is not a fancy place, but they will take reservations. Your choice here. A true mix of flavors, and cultures, and ideas on what to have next. I will go back just for the Currywurst. Danke.

I've been a few times over the years and always remembered it as a solid local spot. My bagel sandwich was simple but good, and the dulce de leche latte was definitely on the sweeter side, but that was expected based on what I ordered. The biggest miss for us was the chicken and waffles. The waffle itself was actually really good, but the chicken was way too thick and underseasoned, so it completely overpowered the dish instead of balancing with it. There was also an overwhelming amount of butter on the plate that felt a little excessive. What really dropped the rating though was the coffee refill tasting burned. At a brunch spot especially, coffee feels like one of the easiest things to consistently get right, so it was disappointing when something that simple missed the mark. I really wanted to love the experience because the space has so much potential, but overall it just didn't fully live up to what I was hoping for.
