Don't miss out like we have until a few months ago...... The sandwiches are huge and incredibly good. The Babe and the Porker are to die for. All the breads are fresh INCLUDING the day old. I'm not a Jalapeno/Cheese Bread person. I bought a loaf of day old for my husband and tried a small piece. I ate half the loaf.... Perfect blend and very soft and fresh. All the breads are good. Bagels are wonderful. The pastries are amazing, and even if you don't go early, those that are left are more than tasty. I agree with one other poster. I question the few negative reviews as fraudulent or very picky and NO smells were detected on any visit other than wonderful bakery aromas. This place is so popular, there are friends who drive many miles daily to get their items! One in particular drives 38 miles!!! The staff works so hard; they literally RUN to meet people's orders and various needs. Great Bakery and foodie spot! Will be making excuses to get to the north end of GP much more often...... P.S. The cupcakes were amazing! They were nicely decorated, moist and the frosting was perfectly sweet and not waxy. We tried a strawberry, red velvet and a german chocolate. I really liked the half Italian Dream sandwich I ordered. It was very tasty and filling, and the bread was perfectly toasted. They have a surcharge of 50 cents if you use your credit card for an amount under $6, and the sandwich was $5.75. They didn't charge my card the 50 cents but I don't know if that was because it was a debit card or if they were just being nice. :o) read more

I had my wedding cake made here and the cake was delicious. She also delivered to the wedding, but when she delivered it I was distracted and I didnt even get to see her she was being so quick to leave (the color of the cake I asked for off white and I got a full blown yellow cake, yuck) It tasted good Alyssa but the wedding day is the most important day of a woman's life. To me, this is the best restaurant in Grants Pass. In fact while I was here two weeks for business, I ate here at least 3 times a week. Though I use the Yelp app quite frequently, I don't ever review places I go. I actually created an account just so I can give a review of this place! I stopped in here on a whim during a recent visit to Grants Pass. I was out exploring and some of the reviews on Yelp intrigued me so I thought I'd give it a shot. The menu features things you'd see at most bakeries; muffins, cupcakes, cookies, a few extra items, as well as build your own sandwiches, salads and a soup. The biggest surprise on the menu to me were the prices. The insanely low prices were sort of off-putting as I was very hungry and didn't think I'd get my fill. Boy I couldn't have been more wrong! I decided to start off with a sandwich to be followed by one of the delicious looking chocolate peanut butter cupcakes. The sandwich I received was huge, definitely enough to share and quite satisfying. In trying to save room for the cupcake, I could only finish half. Now on to the cupcake, oh man, the cupcake. It was dense, rich and delicious. I believe I was only charged $2.00 for it. This seems so wrong, I felt like I was ripping off the owners. I would have easily paid $5-$6 for this cupcake and felt it was worth it (and would have at any other bakery in Southern Oregon and not been half as satisfied.) I cannot recommend this place enough. I've now told many friends to drop by Babes Bakery on their Grants Pass adventures and cannot wait for my next trip north to try a few more items! read more

UNSANITARY FOOD HANDLING PRACTICE Buyer Beware! Drove in to get a bear claw, the gal grabbed it with her bare hands AFTER just handling money to the customer ahead of me. GROSS! I said, "seriously, you use your bare hand?" She nodded her head yes, then you could see a light bulb go off in her head, she put my order on the counter, reached over to grab a bakery paper and was obviously going to grab another one for me in the PROPER manner, but I couldn't help but wonder what she was going to do with the one she used her bare hand on, no doubt put it back in the case. I was SO GROSSED out! What do these people do when people aren't watching? Ew!! So if you enjoy getting the flu and colds by all means Babe's should be your top destination! read more

Another on-the-road Yelp success story here. I knew last night I'd be passing through GP today to take some photos of property for work nearby. I also knew I had been craving a high quality sandwich for some time. So, rolling the dice, I yelped sandwiches in GP, and got Babes'. It went on my mental itinerary, and I'm so glad it did. Friendly service, comfortable dining area (and some outdoor seating to take advantage of this unusually nice February day) and a sandwich that absolutely satiated that craving. I had the Porker - the meat was all of great quality, and of a quantity to stand up to the bread, which was thick and toasted, but still perfectly soft and chewy on the inside. The biggest surprise was the 'side salad' (their House salad) I got as part of the sandwich combo. It was gigantic, and bursting with strawberries and apples, and an abundance of bleu cheese. As I dug into the goods, some customers nearby were casually chatting about potentially pursuing Dutch Bros franchising, and I thought to myself, #thisisgrantspasslife. I don't usually think in hashtags, but it seemed appropriate at the time. Happy to have a pit-stop in GP in mind for any future road trip in that direction! read more

My husband and I were driving through town and saw this on the corner. We turned in. So glad we did! I had a snickerdoodle cookie the size of a toddlers head and hubby had a peanut butter cookie. Eat here. You wont be disappointed. EPIC breakfast and lunch sandwiches with fresh everything. Homemade ice cream sandwiches to die for. Impressive cinnamon rolls and every other pastry treat you can imagine. Big city style eats in a small town. This place has great staff and great food. My issue is that they have given me the wrong salad to go on 3 separate occasions and the last 7 (no I'm not exaggerating) times I have come to the window and ordered something off their menu they say "we just ran out of that". You can't have bagel sandwiches on your menu and say you ran out of eggs....which has happened the last few times. It's just frustrating to have this happen every time no matter what you order. read more

We like the drive-thru feature of this restaurant....one sandwich, with all the things you choose to put on it, is enough for two and very filling. We usually have turkey, with pepperocini, pickles, cheese, lettuce, mayo, french mustard and salt & pepper. A large round loaf of Jalapeno/Cheese bread makes a great sandwich for two. The cinnamon rolls is really delicious but there again, one is big as a saucer and easily serves two. Great place! read more
