"Servicio" 10% was included on the bill and was presented after paying with credit card for a 10/20/30% option. On our last day in Italy we returned to Rome, and decided to stay near Termini the main train station. We would take the train to FCO in the am to catch our flight home. The last time I was in Italy, I made the mistake of staying at the Hilton near FCO on my last day. The Hilton was shit and there wasn't anything to do near the airport. Babbo's (Dad's) was across the street from the B & B, and was recommended by the lady at the front desk. Mija was tired and wanted to eat in the room. We wanted to order some take away fretta (in a hurry) for her & ITC, while my order was to eat at the restaurant. The take away did not come rapidemente as requested, and my order of octopus and fried seafood took a long time. Even ITC was getting upset bc we wanted the take away first. When my octopus finally arrived, it was just okay. I had this dish at least 3x in Italy, and the polpo here was my least fave. A portion of it was cold which was a major turnoff. Likewise, the portion of mixed seafood was small in relation to price vs the dish we enjoyed in Livorno. The portions were massive there and for less €. Regarding the ambiance, they offered inside and al fresco seating. We wanted to sit in the main part of the restaurant, but the put us in this small area to the right of the entrance. Like I said the service is slow AF here, and they didn't seem to understand we wanted the take away first. ITC confirmed that I made my request properly in Italian. Nonetheless, the staff was friendly and warm. All in all, a ho hum experience. When I return to Italy and stay by Termini, I will definitely not return here. The server (who was lovely) came over and showed us a large tray of fresh fish and described their specials that night. We had wanted pasta and pizza (Italy- ya!) but after his detailed description of the "Flounder fish for 2" he encouraged us to try this. So we did. The fish was alright, but the shock came when we received the bill. Most entree items on the menu were priced €20-€30, so imagine our shock when this "flounder fish for 2" was priced at NINETY EUROS. We did get two free limoncello shots which helped (a little). So beware the unlisted fish specials. If you can avoid being taken advantage of, this is an excellent choice for dinner! First time in Rome and was looking for a good place to eat lunch. We came across Babbo's in Via Volturno. Food was exquisito (fish with pasta, catfish with patatas, Cesar salad and lasagna). Tourist trap! This place had awful food, upsell scam and overpriced. Went in here for a light dinner near our hotel and at first seemed nice. Mostly tourists in the place should have warned me. I ordered European sea bass (Branzino) for 15 Euros and minestrone soup for 9 Euros. The waitress then said I could have braised artichoke instead of veggie side and bread will be brought out.. She didn't mention that the artichoke was 8 Euros and the bread was 5 Euros. Food was awful - got 4 tiny tail sections of fish that was over salty and soup from a can! At the end, they added on a service fee of 4.50 Euros. Total bill came out to 45 Euros which was a rip! Don't come here unless you want to be taken advantage of by servers who know you are tourists and will never return! read more

We stopped in for dinner while in Rome and everything was delicious. Our server was excellent and very funny. We got the fish special which may be a little gimmicky, but was delicious and enough for four people. Saw some reviews calling this a scam as it's 80€, but that's reasonable for how much food it was and getting to pick your own fish. Great choice for al fresco dining on a warm afternoon or evening. Very good fresh fish options. My wife ordered the carbonara, which may not be quite (as claimed) the best in Rome, but it's still very good. A bit salty for my palate, but she enjoyed it. I couldn't disagree with the naysayers more. We spent our last night in Rome tired and hungry. This place was just what we needed. Great ambiance in the outdoor patio. A VERY attentive owner/manager which may make some feel rushed, but we were allowed to take our time. Food was excellent, mushroom pizza was perfectly cooked and pasta with clams was very very good. Price was awesome, around 50 euros for two glasses of wine, one beer, appetizer and two entrees. Actually a great deal for Rome! This place is a great restaurant that is both classy yet casual. The prices are a little higher due to the menu choice, but the steak, fish, pasta, and noodles were very tasteful! The homemade egg noodles tasted original and definitely homemade. The food was warm when it came out and the setting and the decor of the place makes you really feel like you're in italy. Although it's location is a little hidden in a sketchy neighborhood, the place feels safe inside and homey. The real gem of this restaurant is its tiramisu. Many tiramisus in Rome are merely custard with chocolate powder on top, but this tiramisu was absolutely delightful and real authentic Italian tiramisu. If you are looking for a restaurant with many different choices, this is the place for you! read more

Definitely not the best place I've eaten in Italy. Trip advisor reviews sing its praises, I wonder how many of those are paid reviews. Service fine, lots of waiters around ready to help, garlic bread good (pizza crust with garlic and rosemary) but the carbonara was literally floating in cheese. This place qualifies as a tourist trap. Stay away!!!! I ordered risotto. It arrived on a cabbage leaf And resembled oatmeal as it was overcooked and a soggy mess.
