Chicken Shawarma on the Fattoush! Medium size salad!

Excellent! Some of the best middle eastern food in the area! Friendly service and the restaurant is very clean! The waitress was very accommodating with extra bread! I highly recommend the hommous and the chicken shawarma on a fattoush salad! You will not be disappointed! Portions are pretty big fyi!

Medium Fattoush Salad with chicken shawarma. Pita and garlic

To start my dining experience the restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated . The lady who came to take my order immediately brought me a bottle of cold water and a menu ( I was dining alone after an appointment in the area). She any was very kind and pleasant. I ordered a Medium Fattoush Salad with chicken Shawarma, garlic and pita and a Pepsi. The amount of food for a medium size salad was startling . I was not expecting how large a serving it was. The food was amazing, the pita came to me while it was still steaming hot . The salad was crisp with the perfect amount of seasoning and dressing . The chicken was melt in your mouth tender and hot. I still had half of my meal left so I took it home with me.I will definitely go back the next time I'm in the area .

Chicken Schwarma

Down here for a work training session and wanted to grab some good food to take home. This place was suggested to me, so I went ahead and made a carry out order. I ordered the Platter for 2 and a Chicken Schwarma platter with a fattoush salad. Can I just say there are a lot of Schwarma places out there, but this is some of the best Chicken Schwarma I've ever had. It was moist and tender and very flavorful. Also, the kabobs with the platter were also excellent. There was so much food, we easily could have fed 4 people. I'm not complaining though, we definitely enjoyed the leftovers! I wish we lived closer because I'd be coming here more often!

Super fast service through grub hub, warm and very delicious!

Delicious meal of epic proportions. My group shared plates and the highlight of this dining experience was - 1. Hummus - very lemony and whipped creamy smooth 2. Falafel - lighter in color with a crisp outer shell and soft core. 3. Kafta was perfectly well done and seasoned nicely.

Stopped in for dinner and was very pleased with the whole experience. Made a reservation (maybe not…read morenecessary) but it filled up so I would recommend. Cool spot that they have. Kitchen is an open concept in the back right of the restaurant. Big bar in the middle and tables/booths throughout. Went with some friends, so we ordered a fair amount of food to try. We ordered the hummus with lamb, the crispy potatoes, falafel, and the mixed grill. Before getting into the food, quick shout out to our waitress. She was amazing. Very attentive without being too much. Walked us through the menu. Was patient with us. I would have gone back for that alone. The food rocked. The hummus with lamb was my friends' favorite. I thought it was very good. Ample serving as well. That goes for everything. No skimpy servings. Almost $20 for hummus with lamb seems a bit pricy but well worth it. The crispy potatoes were very good. The jalapeño added a little kick which opened up the sinuses. Would order again. The falafel was the best I've had. Perfectly fried. Very nice flavor. Could have just eaten those all night and been extremely happy. Finally, the mixed grill was great. It came with chicken, ribeye, kofta, some veggies, rice, and pita. My one complaint would be that the pita was so soggy when it came because it was under the meat and some sauces which was a little unfortunate. Still a good pita though. The chicken was good. Nothing mind blowing. Nice char. My friends really liked it, so different strokes I guess. The ribeye chunks were nice. Solid medium rare-medium cook on them. Solid marinade/seasoning. Not chewy or fatty which was a bonus cause you never know with steak. Finally, the star of the show which was the kofta. If I go back, I only need kofta as my main. I'm not a huge kofta guy but this might have converted me. Grilled to perfection. The lamb was not too overpowering which can sometimes be the case. Very good portion as well (2 big pieces). Rice and veggies were standard. Nothing special; by no means bad. Highly recommend. Can't go wrong here. Curious how similar it is to Phoenicia in Bham (need to try that). 5 big stars.

We shared each appetizer and entree. I'll add pictures to show the yumminess. And the warm most hand towels after the meal add a great final touch. Possibly the only downside is it was crowded downtown and valet was $20 as a result. But besides that, I highly recommend!!

Al Fawwal - Fatteh Bil Laban w/ Ras Aasfour

Al Fawwal is a new Lebanese breakfast restaurant that opened up a couple of months ago on…read moreGreenfield Rd. We saw the signs going up late last year and only recently had a chance to drop by. It's always nice to see another place that specializes in breakfast/brunch! We stopped in close to noon and found a small shop with around 8 booths worth of seating. There were only two tables with customers at the time but a couple more groups trickled in later. Service is super friendly here - we sat down, ordered and our food came out pretty quickly. Hummus Bil Tahina ($7) - Nice creamy hummus, fresh tasting. The hummus here is a bit heavier on the tahini vs. some other places. This is topped with fresh tender, piping hot and steaming chickpeas, and a nice fresh olive oil that's just the slightest bit peppery. The olive oil here tastes much fresher than most other restaurants around the area. Fatteh Bil Laban w/ Ras Aasfour ($14) - I totally misjudged what ras aasfour is - when I googled this before going in, I thought it was going to be Lebanese-style mini ground beef meatball stew, but this turned out to be straight pan fried lamb. The construction is essentially a layer of super tender chickpeas, topped with fried pita chips, a garlicky and tangy yogurt, then a very gamey lamb flavored oil (the oil they use to fry the lamb), and finally toasted slivered almonds and the aforementioned ras asfour. While I don't usually like lamb, the meat was actually not gamey at all and I honestly thought it was beef at first. It wasn't until I dipped into the rest of the bowl that I found that the oil drizzled on top is super gamey and the taste permeates everything underneath. If you like lamb, you will love this dish. All the ingredients used in this fatteh are on the liquidy side, so the pita chips get very soaked and lose their crunch. Batata Harra ($7) - These potatoes were undercooked. We heard the chef frying everything up, but I guess they still weren't cooked long enough? The insides were not fluffy and instead were on the hard side. The exterior had no crisp whatsoever. The potatoes were tossed with red pepper flakes, adding a bit of spice, and fresh cilantro and garlic, giving an herbal pungency. I also found a bit of acidity possibly from the addition of lemon juice. As with a classic Lebanese breakfast, you get pita and a plate of fresh veggies and pickles to eat everything with. The pita is standard commercial pita probably from a local bakery. Another patron was asking about bread and the waitress said the oven was down, so maybe they usually have fresh pita? The veggies included sliced tomatoes, cucumber pickles, turnip pickles, fresh radish, onion, mint, and even some Lebanese green olives. Yum! A very nice accompaniment. On the table are the usual salt, pepper, sugar, and olive oil, as well as a bottle of pomegranate molasses. We asked the waitress and she said that people enjoy drizzling it on liver and on baba ghanoush. As a side note, this is one of the few restaurants around the area that serves complimentary bottled water. Most other places charge a dollar or two per bottle. The Lebanese breakfast classics at Al Fawwal are pretty good. It's a good choice if you want to expand your breakfast repertoire.

Carry-out Mediterranean salad. Tl;dr; $20, bland but fresh,…read moreskip the pita. The blandest Mediterranean salad in west dearborn? Ok, maybe not the blandest, just really meh. For $20 otd? You decide... First of all, it's next to a brewery. (Ordering from their website, you'd think the parking lot would be lit -- in at least two ways -- but it's next to a brewery Nice brewery and all, but Bistro seems a bit out of place... not the brewery.) Pickup was seemless. Anyhow, the lettuce seemed fresh, and there was some dark lettuce in there too. The chicken was very moist... and not much evidence of grilling. Not bad, tho, if you're hungry -- it was all right. Probly perfect for some. The dressing is something that we think could turn an otherwise decent salad into 4-5 stars... what they've got going on today, their "creamy Parmesan vinaigrette" is... well, it's just creamy. Maybe there's parmesan flavoring in it? It's OK, just very bland. Maybe their loyal clientele love it! Finally, to top it off, literally: "grilled pesto pita". You get one of these little slices hot of the grill and they might be edible. Beyond two minutes?... they turned into tiny triangular pucks. Seemed like a small pita to begin with too. Overall, decent. Not bad, definitely not great... which is too bad, we really want to love this place!
