Took my mom here for her birthday lunch because this is alllll she talks about. The family style salads and pizzas are amazing!! food was soooo good and lemon cheesecake for dessert. The only problem was service. I like when resturants go above and beyond when I call ahead and say I am bringing my mother for her birthday and am willing to pay for the servers to make it a special occasion and nobody really did anyting special. Fantastic place in Hudson. Probably the best casual place in town. Everything is homemade and flavorful. Greek salad was very good. Artichoke puree soup was unique and also very good. I have been to this restaurant many many times both for takeout and eating in and usually enjoy it. Well, recently we went in on a hot day to have lunch and there was one group ahead of us to sit. That was fine, we knew we were next and could see a table about to be cleaned up. So in walks a group of older women with one obviously the loud mouth leader of the pack. She walked in just fine, but as soon as she got in she was loudly complaining that she had to be seated ASAP. The waitress said that she was sorry, but we were ahead of her and would be seated first. Well, lo and behold, the hostess or manager (somewhat sloppy looking always sweaty woman) actually told a couple sitting at a prime window table to move and let these women sit there. So our table was taken by the couple moving and this woman and her pack were seated at the window table. Now there was going to be a long wait. Of course we were appalled and disgusted because that hostess always sees us in there. If I had any indication that these women were feeble, sick or in need of assistance, it would have been another story. Once seated, they were happy as a lark. We, on the other hand, quickly left and might not ever go back there until this idiot of a hostess no longer works there. I would also like to add that this place hasn't been as clean or as cool in summer as previously. It's sad that they have now lost regular customers to satisfy a seemingly wealthy older woman who seems to have this "act" down very well. Baba Louie's has hit a new low. read more

Delicious food. Two of us, quite hungry after hiking in the Catskills, got the small bruschetta salad and a large pizza with eggplant and fresh tomatoes. We had two slices of pizza left over. The salad came with four pieces of toast topped with smashed roasted garlic, which was a very nice touch. The pizza was delicious, nice crispy thin crust. Service was good. Favorite restaurant of all time! My fiancé and I are regulars and drive over an hour at least twice a month. We also consider our selves to be "food snobs" and are very particular with our pizza. I have been to Baba Louie's more times than I can count and I have never had a bad meal! I just wish the Pittsfield location was still open as it is a little closer. We had high hopes for this place, as a family with multiple allergies including gluten and dairy, which makes eating pizza out almost impossible. The menu is great with so many options for toppings and the atmosphere/decor is cool. The service was very, very slow, despite the fact that it wasn't very busy. The gluten-free crust was average - it was nice and crispy at the edge but the rest had that soft yet dry texture so many GF crusts have. My dairy allergic son was thrilled to be able to order pizza, and said the sauce was awesome but didn't like the cheese (they use the Daiya mozz). Lunch for 4 with no drinks came to over $80, so for that price I was hoping for better. read more

We have been here many times and most recently asked Cara to help us put together a large order in order to feed 40 guests at our rehearsal dinner. Not only was she quick to respond to e-mails, she helped us order the perfect amount of food and everything was delicious. The salads were crisp and fresh while the pizzas were hot and crispy. She went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed the meal and our closest friends and family loved the food! My husband and I had our Friday night welcome gathering for our wedding at Baba Louie's and it was the PERFECT start to the most incredible weekend. We had searched all over Hudson to find a place to have our Friday night event, but struggled to find something that could fit 50+ people and fit our budget. We got in touch with Baba Louie's after months of searching and were blown away by how kind and accommodating they were. We worked directly with the owner, Eileen, to set up all the details, from the space to the menu. On the night of, her husband was there and he was THE BEST! He made sure we had a drink in my hand within 5 minutes of arriving. The food (pizzas and salad) was delicious and the setup was ideal for our group. Every single person who worked there made sure that all our guests had enough to eat and drink, and that they were enjoying themselves. My husband and I have been going here since it was first opened 10 years ago. The pizza is delicious!!! The salads are fresh and scrumptious. We tend to get the same thing which is the BBQ chicken pizza and the Greek salad loaded with yummy feta, roasted red peppers, and sunflower seeds. The pizza here is quite good, and dependably so. The salads are very good, and always so. The atmosphere is good enough --a little loud, but convivially so. Above all, the service is warm and friendly. I'm a vegan -- and there have been a few issues here, especially when ordering dairy-free cheese but getting dairy cheese on the pizza, more than once. After whining a bit to the very politic and pleasant manager about this, he made it clear that this was unusual--extremely so--and he promised it would never happen again. Also gave us a free pizza. So.... all in all, a consistently great place to have a good meal at a good price, but if for some reason things don't go quite right, they will make it right. read more

Where do I start? Nestled into the hamlet of Hudson, right next to the firehouse sits Baba Louie's. I didn't inted to go out for pizza that night but my uncle suggested it, and let me tell you, he was right. They have gluten free options and italian type fare for those not wanting pizza, but wait a second. Hold the phone, the pizza is the BOMB lol. So I went a little old school, don't hold that against me. The pizza was sauced properly, and the dough was thin, crusty, but with just the right amount of chew. I got a regular margherita pizza to just test the authenticity, and it passed with flying colors. The olives also are fresh, absolutely delicious, I cannot wait to return. Party of one at the bar. Typical Friday night crowd,;busy but not insane. Ordered squash soup (their soups are always vegan) and a personal pizza. Soup was excellent, but an hour later pizza had not arrived. After bringing this to the attention of the waitress, she checked in with the kitchen staff. Due to a 'miscommunication', the pizza hadn't even been started. She comped the soup. This isn't the first time I've experienced poor service. I often order a pizza to go at their Great Barrington location, with specific instructions not to slice it due to cross contamination concerns. They haven't gotten that one right yet after three separate tries. read more

A pleasant and attractive restaurant/bar on the main drag in intriguing Hudson. A late afternoon, tired from too much antiquing, I ended up here for the house pasta and a beer - prices are right, people seem to like the place and the food is right on. Great Location, Great Food, Great Service. If you like "Wood Fired" "Thin & Crispy Crust" Pizza this place is a must try. You can try any one of their specialty pies. I like the "Isabella Pizzarella" Pizza. It has sweet potatoes parsnips, caramelized onions, garlic, fresh mozzarella, shaved fennel & a balsamic vinegar. Crazy combo but it truly tastes AMAZING. I also recommend getting one of their salads. You will need to be hungry to be able to finish it. I usually find myself there on a Friday or Sunday evening. Good thing I split both or else I would have taken most of it with me. It's a bit small though, they should expand so they have more tables since they were obviously busy.
