I've been here a couple of times as my wife enjoys their pizza selection. They have Gluten-free options as well as dairy free options which she favors. The pizzas are always tasty and the ingredients are fresh. They have an acceptable drink menu to pair with the vast selection of pizzas and combinations which our wait staff has always seemed to be good at tying together. The restaurant itself is small with a few booths along the walls and tables in the front and center. There is a small bar in the rear left of the restaurant that is quaint and kept tidy. The staff are always friendly and this place is usually bustling when we go. It can be hard to get a table during peek dinner hours but it's worth a 15-20 minute wait if you had too. I'm sure we will be returning in the near future and look forward to their new ideas and pizza creations and combinations. read more

Toppings were kind of a mess, too much on each one, and a lot of sauce on top for some reason. Greek salad was decent and a great value (small is enough for 3-4 people as appetizer), but oh soo salty. Wanted to like it and place filled to capacity by 6:30, maybe it was an off night (sun night), but any decent nyc pizza place it is very far from. We dined in your restaurant yesterday. While your server was excellent and the pizza was fine, we took exception to having a gratuity added to our check without any notice to us -- not the initial check itemizing the charges, but the final check presented for our signature. This was done without informing us, and this practice is not mentioned anywhere on the menu. This is a highly deceptive practice, and is apparently being applied in a selective and discriminatory manner. My girlfriend, whom I left to settle the bill as I got our car, is African American, and when she saw the added 20% gratuity, she asked the manager about it. The manager stated that the server had forgotten to add it to the original check. This is not a plausible explanation, as the server was not new to the establishment. What seems to be going on here is that the manager is making uninformed and racially motivated judgments about which customers should have an additional 20% charge added to their bill. Let us calculate the tip for ourselves, like anyone else. Unacceptable! read more

I've been here 3 times now. The first visit was great, and while the next two visits were good, the pizza wasn't quite as good as the first time. The place itself has an alright ambiance. You can tell that it's an old building, it's not overly bright or dark, but I feel like it would fit the vibe better if they darkened it up a little. The servers have always done a decent job. The first time I got a margherita pizza. The sauce was great and they used a good amount of it, which I love. The cheese was great, a lot of time when places use fresh mozz it's too tough, but this cheese was great, it melted well and had a nice bite through texture. The dough didn't get too much of a flavor from the wood fire, but it definitely got the chewy texture from the high heat of the fire. the 2nd time I went I had the BBQ chicken pizza. It was decent, the chicken was cooked very good but the sauce they topped it with seemed generic, I wanted something homemade. The 3rd time I got a plain pizza with sausage and pepperoni. They put a good amount of the toppings on and both of those toppings were good choices. So far this is the only pizza I've had in Hudson, and so far I don't really have a reason to try anywhere else. I won't be in the area much longer but I definitely enjoyed my meals here. read more

Awesome pizza. This is a nice little local kind of place. Our waitress was great. We had an awesome salad with roasted pepitas, feta, and red peppers that was out of this world, and I'm not a big salad eater. I "made my own" pizza with roasted potatoes and proscuitto. It was great. Hubby did the same with proscuitto and olives- awesome! The crust here is very unique but it's great. You definitely don't need the family size if you're two people - we were stuffed from the salad alone. For our pizza, we got the Puttanesca. This restaurant is one of the only places in Hudson able to cater to those of us with gluten intolerances, and the crust is truly delicious. They also have gluten free pasta! They don't have a gluten free kitchen so they can't serve to those with Celiac disease, but if your system is able to handle a small amount of cross contamination I highly recommend eating here. read more

First of all this place is awesome. It's a little hole in the wall in Hudson and we actually drove past it because a fire truck was in the way. But once you find it you are treated with great pizza and nice atmosphere. The place survived the traditional era and interesting pizza creations are nice change from your standard pizza shop. The boy and I were in the area for a school assignment. When our research was done we were hungry for something tasty, quick and informal. Baba Louies was the place. It was nice to see it so busy on a Sunday night - couples, families, singles at the bar - they were all there, but it wasn't packed and we were seated right away. The ordering didn't take very long either...probably because we didn't give it that much thought. Usually we go for something that's balanced and varied but somehow, that didn't even come up. Our appetizer was the Nachos Supreme - nachos smothered with tomatoes, beans, jalapenos, onions and cheese. It was delicious. The cheese was fresh mozzarella, not the liquid cheese that covers everything offensively on other nacho platters. And it was all layered together so the bottom nachos had just as much smothering as the top ones. I was surprised that we finished it all because we were just two people and it was pretty big. The boy got pasta (another dish of carbs and cheese with veggies) and I ordered pizza (a third dish of carbs and cheese with veggies). The pasta was tasty and the pizza was really good, except... Well, it was pizza with feta, arugula, fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, roasted garlic and balsamic viniagrette. As much as I really like all those things, I'm much happier when my salad is a salad and my pizza is a pizza. I enjoyed it as much as I could have enjoyed it given that it was salad on my pizza. I left a little pile of arugula on my plate and ate the pizza without it. I'll know for next time that I should trust my intuition about greens on pizza. Still, it was a good dining experience and we'll keep it on our list for our next visit to Hudson. So why 4 stars instead of 5? Well, the service wasn't as prompt as I would have liked. Though the restaurant was busy, it wasn't packed and we did wait a few minutes to have water brought and then to order and then to get our food. It felt like it could have been a bit more polished. But like I said, the food was good and the rest of our family might enjoy coming here next time. read more
