Besides the chicken being dry, the pad Thai being sauceless & tasteless, the peanut sauce diluted and the cucumber salad not tangy enough and the a/c was supposedly on, but we were literally sweating, (even other patrons were complaining of the heat) everything was fine. Your meal comes with your choice of soup or salad along with the entree. The portion is quite large, possibly enough for leftovers. The service is quick and friendly. If your dish isn't spicy enough, they have jars of chili for you to kick up the heat. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick lunch spot. read more

This was my first visit here and I ordered the pad Thai with chicken & shrimp. It was a little too wet, and too sweet for my taste, but it was still tasty. I then ordered the sticky rice & mango/ delicious. My daughter ordered the made-in-house coconut ice cream- that needed to be sweeter! All portions were quite generous so you're guaranteed to need a to-go box. I will go back to try other dishes to give this place a chance for a better write up. read more

Super salty, chicken was dry, and almost no vegetables, the papaya salad was small for the price, the sauce on the salad did not have any sweetness that I was expecting. We just got takeout today and I wish we had thought about doing it sooner. Pre-COVID days, we have eaten in the restaurant and we have always had great food and a really nice dining experience. They are doing a great job with their COVID takeout setup. I'm picky about this and normally will only do curbside food. We ordered online, paid online, and picked our pickup time. The best pad Thai I've found in the area. I can't vouch for the price waitstaff (I order to-go each time), but the food is spectacular. The crab stars are perfectly made, the pad thai is always wonderful, and their spring rolls are the best in town. Four of us ate there early on a week night. The ambiance was Inexpensive Thai Restaurant, which was fine. Service was prompt and friendly. We ordered Thai Egg Rolls and I got my usual Green Curry with Pork. My wife got Sweet and Sour Chicken. There were five of the egg rolls and they were good. My green curry dish was probably as good as my all-time-favorite, also at a Baan Thai, in Seaside, California. That is high praise indeed. It may not save us trips to California but it will be great to have it pretty nearby. My wife liked her chicken a lot. I'm not sure what our friends had but he, who had served in Thailand, praised them. Their menu is calling us back; I hope and expect we'll have several happy meals there. read more

Hands down my favorite Thai place in the greater raleigh area. Have tried about six other places and this one is the best and most authentic. Baan Thai is a small restaurant at the corner next to a Harris Teeter. The food was great, greatly seasoned and so mouth watering! I got their special-fries pineapple rice with shrimp and chicken and my friend got the drunken noodles! We split both plates so we can try both. The portions were the right size. I didn't complain because they were open on xmas and I felt that it was an honest mistake. When I ordered today I mentioned my order wasn't correct and she insisted that I must've placed it and I said "forget it"!! And went on to order a plate to go with a side of jasmine white rice. Today's order had chopped up black hair in the rice. At first I thought it was a single stand on the plate that I emptied it on. It probably took more time to do that than to actually steam them. End result was dry dumplings. I can make dry dumplings at home, why go to a restaurant and pay for leftovers? 2. Duck with spicy basil sauce. I have no issues paying usd$18.00 for a plate, but it was bad. The "protein" was dry and chalky. We shared the entree as we also had appetizers. The Spicy Chataboon (I think I spelled it correctly, lol) was very tasty and spicy. Decided to try this place for my birthday lunch and was pleased! The red curry was very tasty with a healthy serving of meat. I asked for thai hot, but didn't find it overly spicy. Extra credit for having sticky rice, which seems to be hars to find in the south. We'll be back! read more

Happened to be at beaver creek and googled nearby restaurants for lunch and this came up. We've been looking for a good Thai place so gave it a shot. We were very happy with our dining experience and this will become our go-to Thai spot! We had pad se ew and Bangkok fried rice. I always order pad se ew to test out the quality of a Thai restaurant. If the noodles are overcooked, I won't go back. In this case, the dish was executed perfectly. My only suggestion for improvement is to use Chinese broccoli (Gai Lan) instead. My husband got the Bangkok fried rice and it was also delicious. The salad that came with it was tasty. The coconut soup was too sour. We didn't get a spring roll which was mentioned in other reviews. We also got a Thai iced tea which was very good. Will definitely return! read more

I'm surprised at the negative reviews of this place. I moved to the triangle fairly recently and this was the 6th Thai restaurant I've tried and by FAR the best. I ordered the spicy basil fried rice and my fiancé the drunken noodles. Our food was out within 10 minutes! It was flavorful and delicious! By far the best Thai food I've had since moving. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I think ambience and aesthetics could be improved. Food is solid though! Will return even though it's a drive from chapel hill! read more

First if all the restaurant just opened in January 20, 2014. You cant expect everything perfect as long as the food is good. I was impressed about the location-easy to find right around the corner of Harris Teeter store. The restaurant looked brand new and clean. It had open kitchen that you could see who were cooking for you which I really liked that. I want to know who makes my food. My first thought was oh they had Mexican cook like some other restaurants however, I was totally wrong. I heard everyone spoke Thai. I talked to the owner she told me the cook was Thai and had many years of experience in Thai restaurants . Here is my comments about what I ordered. Basil duck-it's homemade and marinated, very tender and had lots of tasty flavor. Fish with herb salad-very yummy and tons of herbs in there, so healthy. Pad See-Ew, big flat noodle with brown soy sauce. They use fresh made noodle not a dry instant kind from a package. This is the first Thai restaurant that uses fresh made noodle for cooking. Their coconut cake is homemade $5.5 a piece but big enough to share. I also LOVE their homemade ice-cream. You MUST try them! read more

My wife and I visited recently based on recommendations from the neighborhood. They're in the old Ichiban space near Harris Teeter. The space hasn't changed much and the décor was pretty sparse (which is fine by me as I go to restaurants for the food). The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We started with the Fresh Shrimp Basil Rolls. They differed a lot from the ones we get back in RI (where we had some great Thai places). These were mainly filled with iceberg lettuce and carrots along with a basil leaf and piece of shrimp. The ones I love have bean sprouts and rice noodles instead of the salad and Thai basil over regular basil. They were still well prepared, fresh and pretty good. My wife had the Panang Curry with Chicken and I had the Massaman Curry with Pork. Both were well done but not outstanding. They let you bump up the heat using their three level system. I opted for moving from one to two to be safe but I could barely detect any difference from my wife's dish. My favorite Thai place anywhere (which is run by a Thai family out of the back of The Churchill Arms in London) combines inspiring flavor and (depending on your choice) searing heat in a truly addicting way. I suppose that's always my goal with Thai. Overall I thought the food was good but not especially authentic. I feel like they're catering to the American palate instead of presenting true Thai food. But I suppose that's' needed for business. I'd give them a 3 1/2 if I could. I think they're off to a good start and will try them again at some point.
