I've passed by this location many times and finally got to try it this past weekend. The brulee coffee was what caught my attention since I can only find egg coffee in OC area. This one is pretty darn close except it has a lot of chocolate powder and ice for my liking. Next visit I will get the larger size and request less ice and less chocolate powder. I was also intrigued by their waffles so I decided to try the pandan with coconut flakes. I prefer my waffles to be crispy but this was a bit soft/soggy. It was very IG worthy with the pretty packaging box though. I would like to come back and try other coffee drinks such as the ube or the fruit drinks. read more

3.5 stars for mediocre waffles and decent Vietnamese coffee. Specializing in egg waffles, this aesthetic cafe has a variety of different waffle, tea, and coffee options. However, they seemed to be sold out of several of their waffle flavors and taiyaki flavors which they also sell when I visited. On their menu they have several flavors, but when I tried ordering some them, they were mostly sold out. I ordered a strawberry egg waffle and sesame waffle initially, but they were sold out of the sesame and didn't tell me until after I had already placed my order and I had to ask about my missing waffle after only receiving just my strawberry waffle. I ended up asking for the cheese cream waffles instead. The waffles tasted just okay. They became soggy pretty quick and the strawberry waffle was a bit too cooked while the cheese cream waffle was a bit undercooked. For $7-8 each waffle, it wasn't really worth due to the lack of toppings and flavor in my opinion. The strawberry egg waffle came with a drizzle of strawberry sauce, cut strawberries, and a strawberry cream. The cheese cream just came with the side of cream. I ordered the egg coffee which is apparently also called their brulee coffee based on my receipt, and an Ube coffee. The ube and egg coffee tasted pretty good though. I liked the taste and sweetness of the Vietnamese coffee that it came with. However, the coffee was topped with a bit too much ube cream and egg cream foam, so the proportion of the coffee ended up being mostly sweet foam rather than coffee. The egg and Ube foam was good, but I would've preferred having more coffee and little less of the creams. Overall a mediocre spot for egg waffles and coffee. I think it's pricey for the quality of waffles that you're getting but I'm glad I tried it out. It's definitely a nice and aesthetic spot to hang out with a good amount of tables available. read more

I've driven by this place many times, seen it on socials, and am happy that I finally got to try it out this weekend. My new fave Viet Coffee spot in the 626!? ITEM'S ORDERED: Sesame Coffee Vietnamese Coffee Matcha Coffee Ube Coffee Pandan Coconut Waffle Black Sesame Waffle TASTE: Not to be unoriginal but my favorite was the OG, straight up Viet Coffee. Not to say the other drinks were bad in anyway, it's just I enjoy the original version so much, I don't think any variation ever stands up to it. Strong bold coffee, balanced out by the proper amount of sweetness, always so good. The other drinks which are basically Viet Coffee but with a flavored cream on top all reminded of Da Vien (in the OC) when I first saw the pics. I'll have to say that I may prefer these though simply since I like the texture of the creams better than the overly thick versions at Da Vien. This way they can more easily be mixed into the overall drink for better flavor balance. The Sesame Coffee was interesting since even though the coffee is so strong, you can detect that roasted, nutty flavor adding another dimension which is worth a try. The Matcha Coffee has a strong enough matcha flavor which is not lost when it's paired with the strong coffee base and is a good choice if you enjoy both matcha and coffee. The Ube Coffee has a nice look with it's deep purple color and was overall the sweetest with light notes of coconut coming from the ube. I don't get these type of waffles often but since I enjoy the black sesame flavor I tried the Black Sesame Waffle and it's really good paired with the sesame cream. The waffle itself is quite light and has a pretty subtle sesame flavor which is nice. Having it with the cream added a little more sesame flavor along with salt and sweet. SERVICE, LOCATION & PARKING: The service was very good here. They were nice at the counter and even though it was very busy, they service was still there. The are located right at the corner of Rosemead & Garvey in Garvey Rose Center, right across from Starbucks. Parking is easy since the center has it's own parking lot. If you know the area, you know the intersection right here is very busy so be careful leaving the parking lot. There are about 6 tables inside and an aesthetically pleasing wall for you to use for your IG photos of your drinks. If you are looking for a solid Viet Coffee spot that's not in the OC, you should make your way to Waffle Studio. Cheers! read more

So yummy! I went with the matcha coffee foam and the foam is super thick and filled with strong matcha flavoring!!! The coffee isn't too sweet and one of the best vietnamese coffees I have tried. The employees are super friendly and let us sample the coffee so we knew how to adjust the sweetness accordingly. The currently also have a bogo 50% off on coffee in the morning. The location is super close to my house and i'm glad I gave this place a try. Great for a viet coffee fix! Suck that's it's located in a congested area of El Monte bc the traffic was horrible to get in and out. So excited to hear of another Hong Kong Waffle joint with boba so I made a point to try it out asap. Sad to say, we were not impressed. Disclaimer - we did not order any boba drinks and I notice most of the positive reviews were for the drinks. In fact, when we were waiting for our waffles, another customer complimented the staff on their suggestion for taro milk tea and how delicious it was. So, we came for Waffles, hence the name of the place is Waffle Studio. Thankfully during the soft opening the waffles are buy 2 get 1 free because they are pricier than most other HK waffles at $8 each. Here's what we got: Egg Waffle Boba - plain egg waffle with boba mixed in the batter. It's exactly as it sounds. The boba were okay. Egg Waffle Strawberry - this was the best of all the waffles we ordered. Nice presentation and the strawberries were fresh and sweet. Egg Waffle PanDan - Presentation was okay. I could not taste that much pandan flavor. Waffle Studio cookie - all I will say is skip this. Looks nice but was very hard with no distinct flavor other than sugar. The waffles are nothing spectacular and I have to say it is overpriced. My suggestion is to add some mochi to the batter, make the flavor more eggy? The dine in presentation is sad. The round waffle doesn't even fit on the rectangular styrofoam plate. To end on a positive note though, the interior decor is great. I'm not sure how long this will go on for. Dragon Lichi: Felt more like shaved ice than a slush. There are 3 layers of flavors: dragonfruit, lychee, and mango. It was ok, but I was hoping for a refreshing drink, which this was not. Matcha Brulee: Reminded me of spoiled milk. With every sip, I tasted a mouthful of slimy and chunky "brulee." I tried to thoroughly mix the drink to get rid of chunks, but to no avail. It was honestly disgusting, so I threw most of it away. Ended up having a tummy ache shortly after this. Condensed milk egg waffle: Meh. I was expecting a warm egg waffle covered in condensed milk. Instead, I got a cold egg waffle topped with a bunch of cocoa powder and barely any condensed milk. If you look at the menu, you'll only see the basic egg waffles. They have much more variety on their counter display, including stroopwafels as well as egg waffles. Some flavors I saw are oreo, fruity pebbles, and walnut. Best thing about this place is the aesthetic appearance. They have cute decorations and cute cups. Their packaging is sturdy. I will never be going to this place again. The food was MID but that wasn't the major factor that played into my review today. The staff that operate this establishment are downright immature and incompetent. I was waiting for service, while the staff behind the counter stood around and laughed to each other. My experience was moreover ruined by the presence of homeless man that continually berated and harassed me and other paying customers. I watched him approach two young ladies and touch them after giving them notes. Mind you, he looked around 60 and the girls looked like middle schoolers with backpacks, studying. He also made a toddler cry. When the mother presented the staff evidence of the incidence, they laughed it off and made fun of the kid. Aesthetically pleasing! We ordered the taro milk, sesame egg waffle and mango snow. Taro milk was very milky with a faint taste of taro. Mango snow was decent, a little bit watered down to my liking. Ordered the house coffee with less ice, the drink tasted similar to the house coffee from 7-Leaves, except the coffee is stronger and the cream top is thicker, creamier, and saltier. Definitely would comeback and try other drinks, also would take advantage of their buy 1 and get 50% off on 2nd drink specials from 7:30am to 11am (if I remember correctly, should be for weekday only). Just a suggestion to the owner if they look at customer's review, they should organize the space to make it more welcoming. I was really looking forward to trying this place. Emphasis on "was." When I walked in and looked around, I noticed long hairs all over the benches, which was gross. I decided to order a meat bun with quail egg. When it arrived, it was piping hot but served in a plastic container, which was a disappointment. However, when I bit into it, I found that the meat and quail egg were actually quite cold. I was quite disappointed with the experience. Additionally, the quality of the bun wasn't all that great either. Perhaps I went on an off day, but regardless, I won't be returning.
