Where other contractors canceled appointments, arrived late, or were just no-shows - Mikel (out of their Hudson office) arrived on time and did a thorough assessment of the roof including taking drone footage. He sat with me and walked me through the whole process clearly, explaining all my choices in materials and didn't push any product or add-on. I did receive marginally cheaper quotes, but they did not leave me feeling like my home was in good hands in the same way that Mikel did, and I felt the extra money was likely to be worth it. Once I decided to go ahead with them, again, everything was done very professionally. I was kept informed of times and everybody showed up exactly when they said they would. I made a small change to the scope of the work in replacing additional plywood sections of the roof, and these were easily accommodated on short notice. On the day of the work, the crew showed up on time and Jurgan (the site foreman) kept everything moving with minimal disruption to us. I was working from home, and my wife and kids were in and out of the house for school and errands. Despite replacing the entire roof of the main building and two additions over approximately 9 hours, there was minimal disruption to our days. The house was protected during the work, and even with snow still on the ground, their cleanup crew constantly walked the property picking up and disposing of any debris, nails, old material etc. Ultimately the roof was replaced successfully and looks good. Every step of the job was explained to me, every question answered, and every decision explained. The team was professional, punctual and courteous throughout. A couple of weeks in and we've had snow, rain and strong winds. Everything is still perfect. I can highly recommend Mikel and Jurgan from Golden Group, Hudson.

That decision turned out to be one of the best moves I've made so far. The experience started with their on-site consultation (BD) which was extremely thorough. The rep carefully documented every single one of my needs/preferences and quickly turned around a draft 3D rendering of the proposed siding, which allowed me to visualize the project and modify things that didn't quite suit the house, etc. Later the rendering served as an invaluable reference for tracking progress towards accurate installation of the siding and trim. Once we launched the project, the team started a group chat, including the entire core team (BD, project manager, and the owner), so everyone was always in the loop on the project at all times. If I had *any* questions, they responded immediately, even on the weekend. In my experience, this level of transparency and accessibility is unheard of in construction projects like this. The owner, Yuk, is absolutely outstanding, a paragon of business owner excellence who clearly values client satisfaction. Definitely want to comment on the actual site team, who produced very high quality work, and were super courteous and friendly (which is especially appreciated when you have neighbors who have to live through a construction project this big). I was impressed with the back office team as well, who was consistent in their communication and always friendly and accommodating. If you hire this company, you will not be disappointed. Not only is Ryan a really nice guy, he is super communicative and makes sure that everything happens as it's supposed to. I have an extensive garden with many vegetables and flowers and the crew did a marvelous job at protecting my plants and cleaning up. I have multiple crews working on various areas of my property and Ryan was the only one who came on time and did exactly what he said he'd do. I'll keep hiring and recommending them. I was a little skeptical at first, especially when I saw so…read moremany positive reviews on Yelp (it seems like every company gets trashed on here at some point, or they do something to remove bad reviews). After speaking to a few roofing companies, I decided to go with Kavanaugh, because I saw a lot of their signs around Westwood and Norwood and, unlike some of the other roofers I met with, they did not trash the competition. They also had a great price and were really fast to return phone calls and answer questions. I also appreciated that they provided their insurance and license information up front. When it came to the work, they were in and out in one day. They did a great job and it could not have been easier to work with Paul. My wife and I both work in Boston, so it was going to be tough to be home when all the work was being done, but Paul did not mind and his team did everything quickly, efficiently and professionally. The whole process felt more like I was dealing with someone I had known for a long time rather than a big faceless company. I strongly recommend Kavanaugh Roofing and hope that they continue to maintain this high level of customer service.

My husband and I had originally called Paul back in January to get an estimate to redo the roof on…read morethe house we had just bought in Norwood. Paul came out right away and left an estimate- he was the most reasonable of all the other estimates we got. We actually got married this June, and between moving into our new home and planning for the wedding, the roof was pushed aside. Once our wedding was done, we called Paul in late June to see if we could reconnect. Paul immediately remembered which house we lived in (months later!), and mentioned that we may need to repair our skylight. He said he would stop by to inspect the skylight and leave roof samples so we could pick out the color we wanted. Not only did he call back to let me know that the skylight was not an immediate need (he knew we didn't have much money over the estimate to spend), but he was also honest about the different types of roofing materials- as in, what the "Good", "Better", and "Best" meant- and what he would suggest. Paul said he would get back to us in a couple of weeks- he had a few other jobs scheduled before ours. However, two days later (a Wednesday), he called to say another job had to be rescheduled, and that he could begin the next day and be done by the weekend! My husband and I were shocked and so happy! Paul and his crew came on Thursday afternoon, with a dumpster, and were able to remove half of the roof. My husband and I weren't even home- they came while we were at work. The next morning (Friday), they showed up promptly at 6:30AM, and the crew worked right through until noon. They were completely done in less than two full days. The crew was very professional! Paul was there the whole time working, and everyone was very friendly (I was home all day Friday). We have Directv (a dish), and one of his workers even tried to recalibrate it for me so that our cable would work (it was being finicky- not his fault!) The cost was exactly as Paul had quoted- not one dollar more- and he told me about a few extra things that they did- replaced some of the warped wood boards, insulated the front bay window, and sealed the skylight, just in case. Our roof came out excellent, and we are so pleased with the work Paul and his crew did. They were incredibly efficient, even working through a brief period of rain. I will be adding photos once I take some of the outside. The new roof has changed the look of our home. One of his crew members even came back a few days later with a magnet-type stick to pick up any nails left behind. I doubt we will have any more roofing needs in the near future, but we could not recommend Kavanaugh roofing more!
