I realized that it was time to redo the roof on the property I inherited/own in South Boston when a large hole (likely from a nesting racoon) was found by painters. The roof hadn't been worked on for 27 years and the skylights on both sides of the duplex were rotting. I contacted 8 roofers, and five responded. MJY construction gave the most reasonable quote, but I was more impressed by how quickly and concisely Manny responded to all of my questions and requests for a breakdown of individual work to be done. We requested quotes on taking out the unused chimneys, on different grades of skylights, and even on just repairing the hole. He commenced work on putting in a completely new roof as soon as the permits were approved and the skylights received. It's a small street with limited parking in the neighborhood, and no auto access to the back yard, so that made the work troublesome. However, he had prepared for everything, had a full crew and I was really impressed by how quickly and professionally the job was completed. When I bought my house a year ago, I was told I needed a new roof. I decided I wanted a new roof before winter and I reached out for a couple quotes. MJY was the first to respond and came very quickly the next day. After looking at my roof, Manny gave me a very competitive pricing that I could not refuse. I even had a few issues with my gutter that he was going to take care as part of the package. The entire process took maybe 15 minutes vs other companies that kept calling and telling me that I need to walk thru the whole process which is usually 1.5 hours long. MJY's team is quite skilled and efficient! We wanted to expand our solar power system by adding six new panels mounted on two small and steeply pitched roof sections. MJY came out to look at the job - gave us a good quote in about two days - and then did the job one day after we signed the contract! It took a morning to install the rail mounts, then a few hours more to install and connect all six big panels. It was scary to watch, but MJY's team made it look safe and easy. I needed repairs to my roof after a tree fell on it. Manny gave me the best price of of all the contractors I got estimates from. Then he quoted me a price to put a new roof on the entire house. It was a price I couldn't refuse. He, his son, and the rest of his crew showed up about a week later. Experienced crew, no BS price quote. They did a great job, using all the highest-quality materials, and did a meticulous clean-up. The team is a well-oiled machine and finished the roof in one day, including removing 3 layers of shingles and replacing damaged decking on one whole side of the house. We had MJY come out to look at our roof, as we sprung a leak in one room, and knew the pitch of the roof above there was nearly flat...They gave us a fair quote, came back a few days later and repaired the roof and the rubber liner--quickly and efficiently.
