I have always worked with companies that came highly recommended from colleagues. Let's just say the person who recommended them works closely with the owner (Joel) and after seeing what happened to us, he was extremely disturbed. They were to perform a sweep of all of our computers on a Friday, secure them and set up a maintenance plan. When they were sweeping my computer, which I was informed would be monitored, a glitch occurred and they crashed my SERVER. When I showed up to my office along with my staff and a full schedule of patients, we discovered we were blind. We had no idea who was coming in, couldn't run or close out payments, and my staff had to work with Allen to resolve this matter (9 to 4pm). I was left to check in patients, see patients, turn over rooms, check out patients completely solo because he had my staff running to office depot to purchase supplies. Once we were supposedly all set, we discovered that we were missing about 3 to 4 years of files. I went into panic mode. Losing 3 to 4 months would be detrimental! I was reassured that we d eventually find everything...Still missing files The icing on the cake . THEY LIED I hired them to sweep and secure all our computers especially anything that logs into our server. Allen went out of his way to name each computer and let me know it was clean. Come to find out form my remote employee that he told her "I got your back, I ll tell doctor your computer was clean" My head was spinning and I felt completely betrayed. In my several conversations I specifically discussed that we had been hacked, accounts had to be closed, I m concerned about the security and safety for my business and want to secure all employee computers so we can move forward. I verbalized that I hired them because of the referral and that my colleague knows the owner. GETS EVEN BETTER... when everything came to light and I questioned the Tech on a 3 way call, he never apologized and made excuses. My colleague apologized to me and said he'd speak with the owner Joel and call me back. His conversation with the owner was the CHERRY ON TOP... the owner didn't seem phased. He proceeded to ask how much was my bill and am I a big account. Once he was given the $ amount, he responded " its not worth my time" and just drop this business. Clearly the ethics or lack thereof starts at the top. I reached back out. I m left in a position worse than where I started...I don't trust them and they ve made it clear my business wasn't worth the trouble. When as a business owner you allow complete back access into your server, computers and personal space, you expect a level of ethics, professionalism and security. I was completely vulnerable when I hired them and verbalized the level of trust I m giving them. We had steps 2 and 3 planned for after the sweep and because I m a small business owner, it was OK with Joel that his staff was unethical and lied. I'd be way more concerned with small business owners if I were him since we are small stepping stones to the top.
