This is about what you expect from any state motor vehicle department. All the employees are not motivated, most hate their job (some even said so when asked), and they seem to find joy it causing havoc in your life. I just moved from Colorado and followed the rules as stated online. However, the lady would not accept my ID (even though the internet said that's what I needed). Her final response was "the internet may say that but you won't get a license until you have (different forms of ID)". Oh well, it was no better than I expected it to be. At least when you go in with low expectations you're rarely disappointed. read more

I made an appointment online for the travel ID, which was super simple, and I was in and out in 15 min! The woman who helped me was super nice and made the process easy. read more

Just went out of my way racing across town to get here after spending hours on the phone service per their recommendation. Get here and the little elf at the door says "sorry, no more walk-ins today". Even though I was just told on the phone to come here. read more

Compared to the MVD on Mesa dr. this one is better. Sure it's crazy busy, but what MVD isn't? I brought a client here who had to use a walker to walk with. We stood in this line of 25+ people just to check in. After about 30 seconds a woman came to us and said she would take us immediately at her window. We came here to get a handicapped tag for their car. There was a problem with the paperwork not being properly filled out. The woman was polite and helpful assisting my client with the necessary corrections. The whole process took about 5 minutes and we had the tag. I was impressed that they show preference to people with disabilities. read more

OK Why you ask 5 Stars?? Only one reason. The Driver Examiner that tested my daughter today on 10 July. He was an older gentleman that mentioned to my daughter that he worked the Mesa Dr. branch for 15 yrs. My daughter already was so nervous about her test due to the fact she was rejected so quickly by the examiner at the mesa dr branch after trying to perform the 3pt turn which on Utube is nothing like a 3pt turn, more like a drive backward for a block backing into a narrow parking space then driving it fwd facing the opposite direction wtf? Anyway, this guy was awesome! A true professional and a instructor. He calmed and encouraged my daughter all the way thru the maneuver and she passed! I'm sure the DMV gets all kinds of valid complaints but when a dude kicks ass at his job then he should get the praise too. Dude who ever you are, I drink a toast to you! read more

During 90% of my visits, I've been in and out under 20 minutes! I know what you're thinking - you think of the MVD/DMV and you think long lines, long waits, and unfriendly staff. But not here! The receptionists are very nice and truly helpful. They've answered a plethora of my questions and this is my favorite DMV/MVD I go to! I've gotten my Az ID, driver's license, and car registration here and usually in and out very fast! Maybe I'm just lucky, or maybe it's because I go during school hours. Whatever the case, you'll be pleasantly surprised as I was this this MVD! read more

Visited this DMV site on 1/6/22 via an appt. When I get in line, who are being called first, the 'Walk-ins'. About 4 WIs are called before I am called to a desk. I explained that I needed to renew my DL and was interested in a travel ID. Then I was told what documents were needed and I didn't have them. I opted for a regular DL, specifically stating that I wanted my mailing and physical address on it. The female staff stated, "that can be done". When I received the temp. DL copy, after paying $10.00, it only had the physical address listed and I questioned it. Was told then that only one address could be used so then I stated that the mailing address needed to be used on the DL. Signed the paperwork again, received the temp. DL and told that this was now a duplicate DL so I have to pay $12.00. How annoying!! I told the female staff that it would have been good to know all this info BEFORE I paid the additional $12.00. Then she states that the travel ID would only have the physical address listed! Ugh!! read more

Well, Believe it or not we had a decent experience, wife and I renewed licenses and got the 'enhanced license' which will get us through TSA in 2020. Make sure you go on a slower day like Friday and you'll be in and out in an hour. And make sure you bring your documents!! read more

Angie was so nice and i was in and out in under 5 minutes to replace my lost drivers license! So impressed (:

Dane who was at window 17 was such a help to me a couple days ago. Found I forgot my license and he took time to get me new one, take picture, found my points balance and just was such a sweetie. Just wanted you all to know what a great guy he is at the Auto Drive I believe it's called. awesome. read more

Erika and Caleb are awesome! This is the best running MVD I've been to. Friendly AND knowledgeable! They actually put forth the extra effort to take care of me! I truly appreciate it! I get to drive home a happy camper! read more

They are so mediocre that they are closed until 12 PM across the board and the Avenue signs I don't communicate that so they make you go and travel across the land so that you can go ahead and see that you're not valuable and that they are willing to play garden waste your time read more

How good can the DMV really be? They are helpful when asked but also understandably rushed. Seemed to be some confusion on policies regarding people who west glasses. One lady said if you don't have glasses on in your photo you can be ticketed. Really?!?!? Another said that's not true. One said my husband needed to do their eye check and sent him back to the front for it and the lady at the front said not needed. It was a little weird. When I went for mine, there weren't any hiccups with my license or registering the cars. read more

This place is HORRIBLE! The staff is rude, acts like they hate their jobs and life. When you talk to them they just stare at you like you're stupid. They won't do my sons drivers test because they said "they have already filled up driving tests for the day." We're told to fill out paperwork and wait for the next window. We ended up waiting 3 hours for nothing! Only to come back for the driving test. I think the staff is personally just lazy and doesn't want to go out in the heat to do driving tests. read more

Az Adot - I was told on the phone that Wednesday's are the best days to come in. Are you serious?! - Departments of Motor Vehicles Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

After coming back for the third time because they wouldn't give out a new DL despite bringing everything we were told to bring previously, we were met by the most bitter little troll I've ever encountered "Tiffany". They were rude, condescending, and most likely deaf. Every question I asked was met with an answer completely unrelated, "why were we told to bring a birth certificate by the last employee but now you're claiming we need a drivers license and social?" To which this moron replied "Noooooo You can only get a state ID". Instances like this happened three times where I would ask a normal question and I would be met with a snarl and sass without informing me of anything. I believe tiffany was born and bred in the back locker rooms of the DMV and is only let out to torture tax payers with her disgusting attitude and presence. Tiffany, you were meant to be where you are, working at the DMV. read more

***Update Review. I received an inbox message from a person and said "Screw You" and he has the same name from an official that works at the DMV! Haha, I guess some people can't hear the truth. Don't get made at me because you can't handle your job This place is horrible. Just like any other government agency. When was the last time anyone here worked a Saturday because they were backed up? They are so complacent and have zero idea how the real world works. If you can make it out there, get a government job. I was waiting for 3 hours, let it be known I this was my third day trying because the other 2 seemed too busy. They are all the same. Crowded, full of grumpy ass workers who get over paid for what they do. This isn't my first review on yelp and understand things don't always go as planned. But this place is such a joke. A town of 7 million people and only 2 places to get anything completed if you have a CDL. Such a joke, but they are the government and can go as slow or act as dumb as they want. Again, if you are having a hard time at your current job. Go get a government job and you'll do just fine. Figure out how to do your job. read more

No matter what time I go there, or what I came there for, there is always the longest line. I'm usually there around 2-3 hours at the least and I pretty much give up my whole day to be there. The employees aren't the nicest and over all I don't have a good experience. I will say this particular mvd was faster than one I went to in Mesa, BUT still very slow. read more

Best service DMV has to offer. It's busy but moves quickly. CDL portion extremely busy Monday and Friday. Things keep moving quickly. Verify needed documents in advance. Bring everything and save time. read more

I can't praise Dina enough for her services. She was a pleasure to deal with when we got the kids ID cards. Happy, friendly, helpful......a breath of fresh air. If you have a child that does better with verbal tests, maybe has test anxiety. Schedule a verbal learners permit test and with Dina. She kept him calm and laughing throughout his test. He said she made him so comfortable and he passed! I hope your department knows what an asset Dina is!! Thank you!!!! read more

Horrible. Make an appointment to get an Inspection.... an hour later still sitting here waiting. What's the point of and appointment? Then they act like they are doing you a favor. I don't need the attitude from them either. Frustrating read more

This is the best Mvd I've ever been to in my life.I was in and out past 2 times within 20 minutes!this is just unheard of!2 years ago I used to go to Chandler location..spending at least 2 -3 hours on each visit...Long story short, whoever is running this location (baseline/greenfield)is doing a great job:service is professional and very fast(they had about 20 windows open),even employees are trying to be friendly. And don't forget ,you can fill most of forms online now and even make an appointment and show up at your appointment time with no wait at all!i am not going to any other locations for sure! read more

What is wrong with Arizona and their very unhappy government workers. I guess I was spoiled with California DMV even if the lines can be long, at least the workers are slightly happy. Not only are these employees incompetent and rude, they're not helpful to those who are new to the state and needing to replace drivers license. Good thing after this MVD trip, I can do everything else online! read more

Kristina is not nice, she is very rude and has a rude face. If you want to let a costumer know something don't give us attitude. RUDE

Came here to have HAZMAT certification removed from my CDL. First tried on a Friday at 9:00am. By 2:00pm there were still 20 people ahead of me. Had to leave. Came again on Monday, got my number at 10:28am. Didn't call me up until 1:55pm. Once I was called it took less than a minute for them to do what I came for. The people working the desk were friendly and helpful, can't fault them for anything. It's just a terrible, terrible system. People coming in just to drop off paperwork have to wait in line behind dozens of people taking drivers tests. Arizona needs to authorize third party DMV to handle all motor vehicle transactions. I would have been in and out of Desert Title in 5 minutes. read more

Compared to other states MVD is very well organized, When you enter they direct you in which line to go based on your needs. It will not be fast but far quicker than the other state I lived in. Employees are friendly when I was here and seemed to have a positive attitude. My registration and DL was done in less than a hour with no appointment. read more

To the road test staff on the morning of July 2nd: GIVE CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS and try a little eye contact and possibly a smile. "MVD" This place is crazy! Intercom not working, 42 people in line just to check in. Under staffed and overwhelming for all employees in my opinion. Good times for all! Bring a lunch and a bag full of spare time as you will need it. I look forward to not returning for a long time! read more

Like a lot of people, I dreaded the DMV visit, mostly because of the anticipated lines and such. Boy, was I surprised! A big shout out to Linda who was very pleasant, informative and knowledgeable. read more

Who says DMV is horrible?? Not this girl! Made my appointment online to renew license, very easy. Was in and out within 30 minutes. Kami was super friendly and fast, with taking picture and filling out paperwork. The only thing that could have been done better was the signs showing you where to go and what number they are on, maybe just not working today. Staff members were there to help direct you to the correct waiting area. read more

I got my permit from here and it was not a bad experience but I also took my road test and 3 point turn test and one of the driving instructors had the worst attitude. Not only is it a group of teenagers who are nervous that your working with but if u don't like ur job then leave. Don't be rude and snobby to those who are being respectful. Probably my worst service experience. read more

Made appointment and came all prepared with all documents needed. As soon as I walk in the entrance it was chaos. I was told to go stand in line but I had made an appointment and was then told to go to another location, I get there to kiosk then was instructed to go get picture taken, my son was getting his permit and was treated so rudely by women taken photo ID. She spoke to him in such a manner that I couldn't believe my eyes and ears, my son was having trouble signing his signature, she said your son can't write cursive! Of course now he's nervous and humiliated. I then needed to hand her a paper for my own ID, I'm totally flustered, upset about how she spoke to my son and her unprofessional demeaning instructions to me. She acted as if we should just know what we were doing and her condescending attitude literally had me shaking from disbelief and anger, as she proceeded to take a picture knowing how visibly upset I was, I forced a smile, got up walked away, I then lost it. Never in my life have I been treated so horribly in a public setting. An employee from another office assisted me and my son, she was kind, professional and concerned as to how upset I was...she took care of everything and was able to get us out of there pretty quickly. I am appalled by the women who works the photo ID at the entrance...I walked over to get her name but it was conveniently covered. I've been to this office several times and yes the DMV is a hassle however when properly prepared, with an appointment, it shouldn't be this horrible. This miserable women, whoever she is, shouldn't be working with people in a public setting or with any living creature as far as I'm concerned. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about this MVD. They had someone helping as you came in, making sure everyone had the forms and documents they needed so no time was wasted. Seriously, this location is as good as it gets. The staff is as friendly as you could expect at MVD. They are quick! I mean FAST!! The lines move well here if you go on a Tues, Wed, or Thurs (Mon & Fri are the busiest). You may not like their answers to MVD questions since the bureaucratic monster that is our government is not efficient (or "fair"). However, these ladies and gentlemen seem to do their best.
