People with appointments or walk ins can check in at one of the kiosks in the lobby. You then will be directed to which line to wait in. (A B or C) I was called to the counter at 9:26 am and left the building at 9:39 am. Carmen was knowledgeable and kind. She reviewed my documentation, I signed the paperwork then she took my photo.Completed, in record time! Now I'm hoping to see if USPS comes through just as efficiently. ;) read more

I had one of those rare, magical experiences at the DMV, I was in and out in record time! From the moment I walked in, Drew welcomed me and immediately guided me over to the kiosks. The entire process took about five minutes, start to finish. I almost couldn't believe it. Drew was completely on top of things helpful, efficient, and clearly paying attention to the flow of customers. What really surprised me was the lack of a line. This location is usually extremely busy, but on this particular visit, most people were on the ID and driving test side. I've never come here and gotten in and out so quickly, so I'm calling it my lucky day! Huge thanks to Drew for making what is typically a time-consuming errand feel effortless. read more

Everybody complains that government services are always not up to snuff, but I have to say this MVD Chandler has always done me good and Im giving them 5 stars. My taxes I pay, I gladly support these workers. I came here this morning at 7:25am and there was already a line of about 20 people in front of me. The place opens at 7:30am. By around 8ish, I made it to the front of the line and clerk at station 18 helped me. I had my license plate confiscated last evening (long story and no, I was not consorting with illegal drug cartels - that aint my style). Im about as prim and proper as they come, with a dash of disco, unicorns, sexy is a must, some sassiness and classy AF is what I am up to, and I like to be nice, it's just my disposition. Deal with a dose of sunshine, we all need that Vitamin D! OK, I digress, I like tangents. But anyways the lady at the counter was great, she was like call you car insurance, swap out the VINs, come back here and stand by my number station and I'll help you get sorted. And sure enough, in 15 minutes, she got me sorted and we even managed some small talk. We both complained no parking around ASU. An hour later, with temp tags in hand, I was out of there and not bothered at all. I walked out smiling and funny enough, the woman helping me was also smiling. I liked her. They're very well organized and professional. Of course it's the DMV so there is a wait but I felt like everything kept moving in a timely manner. The only thing that would have been helpful is for the website to state there's not scheduled appointments until July but it makes you think there's an error and to keep trying. 3 days in a row and I am finally done! read more

Alyssa was super helpful! The atmosphere of the DMV has changed. They're very quick but I would recommend making an appointment. You can't pick the representative you want to help you but if you happen to get Alyssa you are in good hands. Also, they don't have anything to do with the DMV app like the MDArizona app. I tried to get that fixed because the error pops up saying contact DMV but oddly it seems the issue falls onto the the app creator not the dmv. So if that's one of the reasons why you wanted to go to the DMV, save yourself the time and contact the app creator directly. You will not be able to use the app for Travel ID purposes either. I made an appointment and arrived at 9am on a Thursday. I made the appointment two days before, and there were lots of time slots available. The non-appointment line was a little long, but it seemed to move quickly, and was empty by the time I'd left. The appointment line moved fast too. There is a computer for people to check in on if they'd made appointment. The person that helped me was very polite and even waived a small fee that I would have needed to pay for the service I'd needed done. I would come back here for all my MVD needs, but always with an appointment. read more

The 4 stars is because of the 40 minute wait in line. This is the first time I've been to the MVD since Covid. You can't make an appointment for everything. You used to be given a number when you checked in and able to sit and wait. Now you must stand in a line and wait your turn. The people who work at the Chandler location were pleasant and efficient. There was someone directing customers as soon as they arrived. The process to renew my drivers license/ get Real ID went smoothly because I bought the documents specified on the website. However, I had a REAL PROBLEM with a person who answered the phone on their helpline. He was condescending and threatened to hang up on me when the website page that was showing on my screen was different than what he said it should be. I am on the computer daily so it wasn't that I didn't know what I was doing. He said that I was not listening to him and therefore not cooperating with him. I wish that I would have gotten his name but I was in shock at the time. read more

We were working with the representative at the window, after him having to take my daughter's drivers license photo four times, Rochelle came to help the agent, her support appeared to get our experience back on track. After some time and our experience not being back on track Rochelle came back to trouble shot with our agent and I asked her to stay because at this point we had been at the window for over 30 mins and her presence appeared to support the agent and I needed to get my daughter to school. Rochelle spit nails, lost her temper, her tone lacked professionalism, her approach lacked emotional intelligence and basic customer service skills. Rochelle never validated the value of the time we had spent so far or our experience. An appropriate response would have been I'm so sorry for the delays, I'll be here to help make sure we can get you out quickly. Rochelle, with your limited availability to properly engage with consumers it's no surprise that you work at the DMV, you wouldn't make it in corporate America. read more

This place is located on Beck Ave South of Chandler Blvd. It is about 1 block South of the Emission Testing site. There is parking around the building. Sometimes it gets filled, then you will need to park on the street. We tried to make an online appointment to get a driving permit but the website was not working so we walked in on a Thursday afternoon. It was empty (see photo). They have kiosks to check in when it is busy but we did not need to do that because there was no line. We just walked right up to the counter. They guys said it is typically not too busy Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and very busy Monday and Friday. So plan on that. They also have 4 computers where you can take the permit test if needed (see photo). Anyway we got it all done in about 10 minutes including the photo. I guess just avoid Monday and Friday if possible. read more

Ok. So it's a lot lack-luster. The flooring really makes my vértigo go wild. But aside from the nausea I feel after being in line for 30+ minutes, I'm pretty impressed. they have kiosks that are wildly underused. You can order a replacement license and other simple stuff. They have a lot of people training. That helps. You can also schedule appointments online. Unfortunately, we didn't. But next time, I will try to remember. read more

Visited this place on Wednesday 3/5/25 Was trying to title 2 vehicles. The person behind the counter titled one vehicle under my name instead of the business name. Not only that she also set up the other vehicle with the wrong vin for emissions. 3 days later I have been trying to fix all her mistakes. First by paying for the first vehicle to be titled correctly and has to pay again. Also the second vehicle she put the wrong vin number and emissions also put the wrong vin so now I'm stuck having to bring the vehicle back to emissions and re pay again. My First time coming was to get an AZ ID. They asked for my Illinois Identification. I surrendered it in order to get an AZ one. HOWEVER, They entered my IL ID as a DL instead of an IL ID. Which caused me to show I had an active DL. Which in fact was expired from IL. I went to take my drivers test at an Authorized 3rd party and they insisted that someone entered my information wrong the supervisor reached out to this location to let them know. I then went BACK to this location stood in line for practically an hour. I get to the window the guy tries to tell me nothing is wrong. He then goes over to a colleague and comes back and calls a manager over. The manager proceeds to say "Ok we have corrected the mistake it shouldn't interfere with your test." I go BACK to the authorized 3rd party to test (passed both written and road test). Wait for them to call me up to tell me they couldn't process my AZ DL. due to the error still reflecting in the system. So here I am now calling off again (for the 3rd time) to try and get this rectified. STILL have yet to get this resolved I am going in the morning. wish me luck read more

Good thing I asked one of the representatives that works there because he said that I wasn't on the schedule to get seen. I waited until closing time at 5pm and was there since 3pm. I'm a california girl, I'm used to an "appointment" meaning wait five hours or the entire day while your mind goes numb waiting for your ID. This place however is different. Assuming you make an appointment, your placed in a separate line away from the walk-ins. This means you get in and out a lot quicker. It took longer to process my documents then the line did. Overall an exceptional experience. Rather then being a disorganized mess of crowds and lines, this place actually functions. But even without one, the office runs efficiently. You check in, you get a number, the people working there are actually friendly, they seem to be appropriately staffed so the line actually moves. Over the last three months, I've had to come to this "MVD" to update registration, title, etc for each of my cars. My previous trips here I was able to get in and out within 15 & 20 minutes and the customer service was great in asking me questions and assigning me a lane. The most recent time I learned the most important lesson... that "I am the reason why the line at the DMV can be a little out of control at times". Yeap, that was me today!! I had everything and it was checked but one of the last steps in the process requires some documentation via my bank and the dealership and it never took place. So yeah, I'm 'that guy' on his phone standing at the counter trying to get some documents emailed to me or the agent at crunch time holding everyone up!! The DMV (sorry, I can't keep saying MVD) is no stranger to this kinda stuff as I thought I had the info in my email... Wrong... but the agent pulled out a sheet with her email address as that was the backup plan and she was ready to go on all cylinders... and I appreciated that!!! Thankfully the agent Elaine was able to walk me through what I needed & I was able to get a hold of the bank to get all of the required information in order to make sure the new title and registration was complete. This last trip lasted about 30 minutes and drain my battery down to about 40% but in the end, I got my new license plate and title and everything done correctly so now I'm not looking to return back here for a couple years for the next emissions test (just next door) Make sure to always check online at the waiting cue to get an idea before you show up, especially on the second Wednesday of the month as they don't open until noon!! http://www.azdot.gov/motor-vehicles/hours-and-locations read more
