Went here for dinner with high expectations. Super disappointed. We arrived around 8:45pm for dinner with a closing time of 10pm. Beef shawarma is sold out. No biggie it's to be expected end of the day. I get suggested a mixed grill which is shish kebabs and rice and salad. A beef A lamb chop and chicken kebab with one beef kaufta style kebab. Every single piece of meat was over cooked to hell and back. Carbonized burnt meat. The rice is absolutely not authentic. I think they're using the Goya yellow rice they sell at Costco. Super disappointing. The tahini tastes store bought or commercially produced packaging which I confirmed when I saw a 5 gallon pail of it labeled in the walk in freezer. The falafel a staple food. Mass produced junk. Even the cheese rolls.... What the heck is going on??? The pita bread also out sourced. Such a sad day. The one good redeeming quality was the lentil soup. Delicious. Vibrant. Spiced perfectly served with an insane amount of toasted pita chips. Will I be back? Possible for one more try. Maybe Saturday night at 8:30pm isn't the night to go out for food. But I'll give them one more chance and make a final determination on whether I would eat here again. I will say that the service was perfect and the girl who served us was fantastic friendly and made great suggestions. I don't know how you can over cook skewers of meat unless they've already been precooked. If that's the case I will not return.
First off, Ayat is stunning, outside and in! It just looks like it belongs and is there to stay (I hope so). Wanted to try something new but also yummy. Ayat came up in our search and decided to go there. Unfortunately, it was a Saturday night and there were no tables available for the entire night. Luckily, they do make orders for pickup, so that's exactly what we did! I do want to want to sit down and eat there because the vibes are so cool. We got a few things to try. The watermelon feta salad, falafels, chicken + beef shawarma plate and a salad. Everything was AH-MAZING! The salads were tasty, the hummus was balanced so well and creamy. The falafels were seasoned perfectly and the same for the shawarma plate. Each meat was seasoned so well and juicy. The menu is large, so it was hard to select what we'd have; I think for our first time, we did a good job. I look forward to going back and trying new things!
This place has good reviews, but we don't enjoy our time here. The food all came out fairly lukewarm and the flavor wasn't good. Too many onions but then under salted. I wouldn't eat here again.
I think I forget to look up sometimes. Every time I quickly drive home from work, I rarely turn my head towards Industry City and Japan Village. Over the last few months, I had noticed a restaurant with greenery and a muraled wall but kept things moving, thinking it was another Aramark sandwich joint. And then one day in true hungover fashion, I flick open UberEats to find that Ayat delivers to me. No freaking way, I thought. Their EV location has been bookmarked in Gmaps for awhile but I don't find myself around Alphabet City too often. On a day where the weather was criminally beautiful, I should've walked the 30 minutes to Ayat Industry City but lo and behold I had a platter and two appetizers delivered. In order to taste as much as possible, I ordered the mixed platter (beef and chicken) with extra tahini, baba ghanouj, hummus, and muhammarah as well as a side order of falafel and kibbeh. I'm still working on learning the right vocab to describe these amazing flavor profiles. My beef and chicken platter was delicious. The chicken tastes like it was glazed with something floral and fruit based after it was charred on the grill and both proteins were dusted in bright sumac before resting on fat pearls of yellow rice. The thick, smooth hummus and baba were anointed with deliciously verdant olive oil and the baba disappeared from m plate first. Side salad was plainly dressed in lemon juice but that's all that greens and sharp red onion really need. The falafel pucks were dense, crumbly, and perfectly spiced while the kibbeh had more warm spices reminiscent of things like cinnamon or allspice. I will definitely be ordering from Ayat in the future, any location.
Food: The food is amazing here! We tried the lamb kebab plate and mixed shawarma plate. Plates come with rice, salad, hummus, and baba ganoush. The meat was prepared fresh. I would also highly recommend the lemonade which was refreshing. I've also come here for lunch takeout which is just as delicious and enjoyable. Service: Service was excellent. The staff are friendly and very attentive. Ambiance: The restaurant is spacious and has two floors. It's good for both small and large groups. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant!
I came here for lunch on a Saturday. There's not many Palestinian restaurants in NYC so I thought I would check it out. My friends and I ordered the labneh dip (thick and creamy yogurt with za'atar) appetizer and the mixed grill (chicken kebab, beef kebab, kefta, and lamb chop with salad and rice). We also received two baskets of pita bread as well. The labneh and pita bread were really good. The mixed grill's meat were all pretty dry and overcooked. Also, we sat upstairs since we had a group and didn't get much service. It's probably best to sit downstairs. It was okay, maybe the other locations are better.
Food, ambiance and service. Everything was so good!!! I have been to the one in the city so next time I'll go to the one in Bushwick. Love Palestinian food. And I love the owner is giving back so much to the community!!!! Thank you!!
Not bad but I had a better experience and meal at the SI location. Still worth a visit though! Only one lady was running the ground so it was hard getting her attention, but I definitely felt bad for her. Chairs are metal so not the comfiest to sit on. The complimentary pita bread with the assortment of garnishes was really good or I was really hungry. I tried not to eat too much to save room for the stuff we ordered though. The cheese manaquish is a must as always. I also got the chicken kebab mashawy. The spinach filled pie was not very memorable.
We made ressos for six people for noon on the Saturday of Mothers Day weekend. We were running late so luckily, they were able to accommodate for 12:30. They have a few locations in Brooklyn but this one seemed like the most friendly for a sit-down Mother's Day lunch. The downstairs area has seating but seems more casual. It's nicer upstairs (which is where we were seated). There's also an outdoor patio on the second floor but they weren't open that day. We ordered: -Mezzen Filistini - a mixed appetizer of hummus, baba ghanoush, muhammarah, tabbouleh, salata tahina and labneh. My faves were the tabbouleh and the muhammarah. They give you complimentary bread with zaatar and olive oil at the beginning so just make sure you don't eat it all at the beginning. Otherwise, you won't have anything to dip the mezze in -Falafel - I didn't care for the tahini sauce but the falafel itself was great -Fattat jaj and fattat lahma - 6 layer dish of meat, rice, chickpeas, garlic tahini, crispy pita, slivered almonds, and parsley. We had one with beef and one with chicken. I preferred the chicken because the beef was a little dry. The slivered almonds added a nice crunch to the dish -Mixed grill with rice - this had beef and chicken kebab, lamb chops, and lamb (?) kefta. I really enjoyed the kefta Overall, it was a nice experience and everyone seemed to enjoy the food.
Large plates of food. The waiter gave us pita without us asking, but at the end we were charged for it...The pita was very dry and hard, definitely did not need it and would not have gotten it... The food is tasty and I like that they give you salad and rice on the plate.
4/5 Mixed Grill - we loved the variety of the different grilled meat options on this platter! Overall had great grill flavor, but it did lack some flavor that is usually characteristic of Middle Eastern cuisine. 4/5 Pita ($2): Served piping hot with olive oil and Zaatar, which is always appreciated! A bit on the dry side and could use some salt for flavor. The service is also on the slower side, we came on a Friday afternoon and there were 3 other tables, but our platter took a while to be served. Also note a ortion size, we split one order as a light lunch!
Amazing restaurant located in Industry City, Brooklyn. When you first sit, they provide you with pita bread and olive oil dip to start. I ordered the beef shawarma plate as my main and I would come again. The beef was well cooked and paired with their sauce and rice. I also enjoyed the cucumber salad included in the meal. Staff was friendly and I overall enjoyed the music inside.

The mansaf is a meal good for 2-3 people. I loved the food here especially that dish. They have a rooftop with great views. The pic is of fattat lahm which is also good. Great Palestinian food #down_with_the_occupation #free_palestine read more

i have passed ayat many times and been tempted to go in so when picking a place for lunch, my two friends and i finally decided to try it. none of us are really experts on middle eastern food (though i sent it to my palestinian friend and he said it looked like a great representation of their cuisine) so we decided to share the hot appetizers mix so we could try a few different things. the hummus was the best hummus i've ever had and i personally loved the cheese cigars. as a vegetarian, i do wish it was a bit clearer what was what on the plate so i didn't have to be scared i would bite into something with meat. our service was good!! our waiter seemed a little confused but he told us it was his first week so i dont blame him. the decor inside was very nice and the arabic music playing contributed to a lovely ambiance. read more

This place is fantastic!! The food is stunning with generous portions and most importantly DELICIOUS! Our server was so sweet and attentive and it seemed she was dealing with everyone so props to her. I really can't wait to go back as this location has plenty of seating and it's easy to get to. For the 2 of us, our bill was under $60 which is a score for date night :) the roof is beautiful especially during these warm summer nights. I want to try the whole menu! It's a shame when we went they were out of the tahini ice cream but I'll return to try the desserts. read more
I've been here a couple of times, both to dine in, and I've also taken food to go. I would say the stop doesn't always seem jolly, but they get their jobs done do it efficiently. This place transport her to Palestine. My favorite thing to order Here is the falafel platter the hummus and the eggplant appetizer is a must try. read more

What a good time. Except the 20% mandatory tip added to the bill. What has NYC dining become? Food is delicious and the plating is on par with the casual dining. I would say if they use real table cloth. Then I will be amazed with what this place and IC had to offer especially for PPP on the meal. We got the drink, meal for 2 and two appetizers which is plenty for 2 of us and a lunch to take home. I will say the portion is big but filled with rice and bread. It's better than some place that charges $8 for a small plate of rice. Definitely try the lemonade as it's not too sweet and very refreshing. I love the layout but if you expect to get some quiet dining, this isn't very good for that. You can hear every table. It's more of a casual place for friends and family. I can't wait for a warm day for their outdoor to be available. We have the enclosed upstairs which is very warm and comfortable. One of the servers doesn't speak English well but got our order 95% correctly. Also the service is fast. A bit too fast. We order and 5 minutes later, our food comes. I wish the meal is a little bit hotter as it's warm. They can use another minute on the grill. Too much filling. You don't need bread on rice seriously. Overall. It's a pleasant time read more

I've been to possibly hundreds of middle eastern restaurants and Ayat has easily won the title of my favorite. The food is top notch (the hardest part was picking what to order!), the service is amazing (everyone was so friendly and attentive), the ambiance was beautiful and warm (not to mention - this is the only restaurant i've been to with bidets?) - I could not recommend Ayat more, for dining in or taking out. a welcoming, delicious addition to brooklyn. Lastly, I feel the need to say that as a visibly jewish LGBTQ person, they couldn't have been kinder or friendlier to me, so anyone saying otherwise is LYING!!! read more

Stop by Ayat for dinner after not eating much for the day. We ordered the Fattat Lahma, which is big enough for two very hungry people or 3-4 moderately hungry people. The dish felt dry, so we asked for more garlic sauce. However, we're given a very small helping in comparison to the size of the meal. The sauce did help, while it lasted. The almonds in the dish were a nice touch and I appreciated crunch. The service was absent, as we had to walk up directly to the register to ask the hostess for help or additional water. The water is served in very small cups and they don't leave any on the table for self replenishment. read more

I've been here a few times and the food is always fresh and delicious! Most recently, I had the vegan platter and it was so tasty and very filling, which is rare with vegan food imo. I am usually not a big falafel person but I actually love the falafels here. They're juicy and not at all dry. The hummus, stuffed grape leaves and grilled cauliflower were full of flavor and tasted so fresh. I also LOVE the fresh bread. read more

I've been to a few Ayat locations, and they're all incredible. This is probably my favorite Palestinian restaurant in the city. The ambiance is great, the place has an incredible mural, and the service was lovely. The falafel is fantastic, crunchy on the outside, moist and flavorful on the inside. Hummus is spicy and lovely. The kefta, man, the kefta is so good, as is the rice that accompanies it. A STRONG recommendation for this restaurant, as well as all Ayat locations. read more

Honestly I stopped in for lunch to show my support more than anything, but then I was treated like a queen and received the greatest shawarma plate of my life. I've eaten a lot of shawarma, I'm not new. Amazingly succulent. It's like other people have left unfairly poor reviews for political reasons, and somehow the restaurant has responded by making the food supernaturally good to try to average it out. And then somehow ... the greatest baklava of my life. I have become one with the flavor of pistachio. I honestly feel bad I didn't pay more for this. read more

Casual Palestinian restaurant with warm, friendly service and huge portions. Definitely order the Mezze Filistini, which is a mixed platter of dips, and large enough to share with multiple people. The Fattat Lahma is a standout dish, with 6 layers of lamb, rice, chickpeas, garlic tahini, crispy pita, slivered almond, and mint. Supposed to serve 2, but could easily serve 3-4. read more

This is a cute little restaurant in Brooklyn. Serving authentic Middle Eastern dishes (specifically Palestinian), this is a great place to visit if you're looking for a Mediterranean fix. The staff is very friendly and quick. I got the mix shawarma, some hummus, and two glasses of limonona. They were all delicious. The mix shawarma was extremely filling. The limonona was perfectly sweet and not bitter tasting like American lemonade. The walls are also lined with some interesting art. This place made me yearn to be in the Middle East again. read more
