I found out today that Awesome Coffee has a location in Koreatown. First off the americano is less expensive over here by about a dollar. BUT now I can appreciate the Southpark DTLA location. DTLA truly has a soothing, dare I say spa like ambiance. I can see why more expensive. It is usually packed with remote workers and I do enjoy working there. As to Koreatown location, dead on a Friday 9:45am. Decor completely different, on the darker hues side. In general they do make a very good decaf americano. read more

Not the best but also not the worst- this cafe is located on the second floor of a strip mall and the main draw here is: 1. Lots of outlets! (Extension cords laying around on the floor lol) 2. The workers turned off the music at 1:25AM and then turned off half the lights at 1:30, making it uncomfortable on purpose and obvious they wanted everyone out, so plan to stay until 1:30, not 2! But overall, a no frills place for limited options in the area if you want to get in a late night work sesh and plug in your laptop or phone, but I will still be exploring other late night options. read more

I think awesome is a bit of an overstatement. The coffee was decent. The food selection was quite meagre - made worse by the fact that the only thing I could / actually wanted to eat was the macarons which I was informed "are only for decoration." I was willing to put that aside because it was a quiet café with acceptable wifi and a power strip to charge with. But then, I was made very uncomfortable. We got there at 8am, parked and walked in. Around 12, someone from the parking lot comes in telling me I owe them money for valet. I didn't valet, I parked myself, and there was no signage when we arrived stating there was any valet service or that the spots were reserved. He stood over us demanding money on zelle. Frankly, on principle, I had no interest in paying his parking racket because I had already spent upwards of $40 on drinks already and, again, there was no signage indicating the spots were in any way reserved. The cafe itself was so mid, but the fact that they tolerate anyone coming in and treating their customers like that, to basically a shakedown, is a nonstarter for me. I won't be back. read more

I got the Vietnamese coffee this time around, but I definitely enjoyed their mocha latte more. The drinks here are decent overall, but the main attraction for me is the abundance of outlets, seating, wifi, and late hours. It's the perfect place to get work done or just hang out with a friend or two. There's plenty of parking in the lot, and it's not nearly as busy as other cafes, especially when I visited on a Friday night. Visited: 4/14/26 Dirty Horchata Latte ($7.25) = 5/10 This didn't quite capture the classic horchata flavor. It lacked the usual sweetness and distinct rice taste, and instead had more of an artificial, powdered flavor. The cinnamon was noticeably gritty, which made it a bit harsh on the throat. After eating dinner in ktown, we were looking to see what would be a good way to end the night for my belated birthday celebration. Eventually I decided on checking this place out as the aesthetics and vibes were what I was feeling that night. The coffee shop is located in a small corner plaza in koreatown. You'll either be lucky with parking or have to find street parking nearby. There's also a valet at the plaza but I think that's mainly for the restaurant there. Upon entering, it is very much like a college student study cafe area. It's moderately decorated to look like a reading area in one corner, the rest looking modern for the folks who want to get work done. Despite the small area, I think the spacing allotted per table was just right as it didn't feel too cramped. I ordered a simple latte to end the night on a good note. Being a night owl, always love to find somewhere that caters to those who stay up a bit later than the average person - they don't close until 2am. You'll find some great drinks here. I used to love coming to this spot to study years back. The ambiance and music really put me in a locking in mood. I recently dropped by and ordered a matcha latte. Please order what they're known for, which is their coffee. I can vouch for how their coffee tastes but I could not enjoy this matcha drink. I've come here twice now to study and have had great experiences each time! I can't speak to their pastries or drinks other than their matcha, but the study atmosphere is fantastic. I'm unsure exactly how parking works in the plaza (the cafe is upstairs) but I park across the street in the parking spot for Tom N Toms Black coffee, since it is a little more protected. There are plenty of spaces to sit, when I came here on a Saturday midday it was a little more busy but on a Saturday morning, you can definitely get a corner to yourself. There are some nicer sofa chairs, as well as spaces along their window. The wifi is free and easy to use, and there are many outlets for you to use. There is plenty of natural lighting as well from the large windows. My only regret is that I forgot my laptop charger one of the times I was here. The matcha latte is not the most concentrated but still a great taste and not too watered down, I always get it iced but my friend's hot version came with cute latte art in a mug. The service was great and my drink did not take long to come out. The pricing is pretty standard for cafe drinks these days, and isn't absurd. Awesome is my favorite coffee shop in LA, and I drive cross-town for it at least a few times a month. The ambience is perfect for working or studying. Customers tend to be respectful and quiet most of the time. I love the strawberry matcha latte and peanut butter latte. Prices are a little on the higher side, but it's a fair trade to me because they have the most plentiful outlets I've ever seen in a cafe, the seating is ample, and the atmosphere is truly so cute and comfortable. With my continued search of finding good study spots, I stopped by Awesome Coffee. This is located on the second floor. There is an available parking lot shared with other businesses. I went around 10 am on a Saturday and it wasn't busy at the time. For the interior, it felt more spacious compared to how it looked outside. There were many seats for small groups to single seating by the window. There were outlets available primarily near the window. There's also free WiFi with the code available at the front register. It was good and reliable connection. The noise level was mainly low, but could be moderate when the staff was using their machine. For my order, I was craving something sweeter that day. I decided to get a Horchata latte with oat milk. It was definitely a sweet drink. You'll like this drink if you have a sweet tooth. The drink was ready within 5 minutes. Awesome coffee may have been more awesome back in its heyday but not sure if it still lives up to it's name today. The Vietnamese iced coffee was...not very Vietnamese. When I ordered it, the staff member turned around and I saw her grab tall glasses of black coffee already sitting on the counter behind her. She poured the coffee into a tall glass which she rimmed with condensed milk. I was a bit concerned at how long that coffee was sitting on the counter but I took it regardless. The Vietnamese coffee was subpar, and could definitely be improved. It didn't have that strong robust taste that comes with Vietnamese iced coffee, and surprisingly even though the glass was rimmed with condensed milk, the drink didn't have that overly sweet taste that balances out the strong Vietnamese coffee. The huge positive though about why I would still come to Awesome coffee is the ample table space, a multitude of electrical outlets that are questionably plugged into one another, the dark library room aestetic, and soft jazz music that makes Awesome coffee a pretty darn good place to work remotely on your laptop. Valet parking is $3 in the little plaza, which isn't terrible for LA, but I believe it's free if you're able to just find a parking spot on your own? Someone should double check that. read more

I enjoyed it, but it wasn't anything special. 16floz Iced Matcha Latte ($4.75): This was an Incredible Hulk green-colored drink with the matcha flavor present throughout from start to finish.
