Wow! What a great find! My best friend took me here for breakfast for my birthday. We were originally looking for the Egg and I only to find that it was recently renovated to this place. The interior is super modern and adorable. Great ambience for breakfast or brunch. I ordered a seasonal mimosa, veggie eggs Benedict with a side of bacon and fruit. The eggs Benedict were divine! I'm always in search of good eggs Benedict and this place did not disappoint! The mimosa was not that great in flavor but it was strong so I appreciated that aspect. The French toast was good. When I called they said they had a 15 minute wait, so we said why not? We come inside and join the 10-15 minute waitlist. What I've noticed is that they tell everyone including a party of 7 that the wait would be 15 minutes that's not even realistic the wait was definitely over 10-15 minutes just to be placed at a dirty table by the bathroom. After placing our order it took about 20-30 minutes for the food to arrive and once it did my waffle was cold and my brother's pancake was slightly burnt. Our service and food was amazing. Our waitress Crisha was GREAT! The only reason I am leaving 4 stars is due to the two employees who were standing/leaning on the counter when we first walked in. Not only did they publicly make fun of the host but verbally demeaned him in front of us. The two employees were leaning on the counter laughing at the host and making ignorant comments about his mental capacity. One was a young Hispanic male wearing a Halloween shirt, its March.. the second was a woman with extremely thick, curly/wavy black hair and wore a colorful scarf in her hair. The waffle was crispy, but I felt it was cooked a little longer than I would have liked. Because it was slightly too crispy, it took away from the pancake flavor. The toppings were arranged in an enticing fashion, but nothing fully harmonized together. It felt as if everything was just dumped on top with no effort. It also didnt help that strawberries arent in season anyways. For 10 dollars, it doesnt feel so grand as it could. The breakfast sandwich was quite satisfying. Crispy, toasted, thick sourdough thats soft but has some density. It was the real work horse of the meal, along with the eggs. The cheese and sausage all oozed together in harmony that hit the spot. I always check out new breakfast places when I can. I am a firm believer in breakfast all day. Parking is lot a mess. Doing resurfacing, so its muddy and very few spots are avails. Menu- full faceted breakfast offerings and a few lunch options. I ordered the following: Cup of Coffee - which you cannot get. Their "premium coffee" is an entire pot for $2.79. And i know that 1 cup would probably be $1.50 give or take, but its the principle of it. 1 cup is enough for me. Diet Coke - fair price and free refills Corned Beef Hash - canned corned beef clearly. Oversalted and overpowering. I desire chunks of fresh corned beef like it should be. Large, oddly cut onion pieces, like something you'd expect in a fajita plate. Cup of grits- boxed grits - fairly cooked. Service - mediocre at best. Came in at 130p and there were maybe 6-8 tables occupied, out of 30+. Long delay from initial seating to ordering. 2 servers working. No refills offered. Silverware questionably cleaned. Looks like their sanitizer has issues and needs servicing. Decor is nice, farmhouse styled. However, chairs at tables are made for people that are a max of 150lbs and short. I am 6'6" 270lbs and i could barely sit on the chair since its extremely narrow, so if you are bigger, take the bench seat. Benedicts galore! I am a benedict freak and they have all the yummy ones here. The food comes out fresh and fairly quickly too for a spot that is always packed to the brim with people. Everyone that works here is also sweet and very kind despite them being so insanely busy. We all know this area has some serious competition with breakfast and brunch spots. I would say this one is close to the top of the list in terms of good breakfast eatin'. Get the Parisian benedict if you want something filling. This time I chose fruit but wished I had gotten breakfast potatoes. If you don't want to wait on a weekend morning I suggest you arrive as early as possible or you will be waiting. But worth it. It does tend to feel a bit like you're sitting on top of one another too in terms of the layout of the restaurant. Social distancing issues nowadays may or may not be a deal breaker for you. The Egg and I will always be in our top 3 for brunch spots - the food is consistently good and filling. Service fluctuates depending on the server and how busy it is, but usually we get good to great service. My favorite thing to order are the Eggs Benedicts and the hash bowls. So far I've enjoyed all of them! They're always prepared quickly and get to our table within 10 minutes of ordering. Even if we have to wait 15-20 minutes for a table, we never wait long for our food. I also enjoy the waffles from here; I avoid pancakes mostly because they're too big - I'm lucky if I manage to finish one. If there's anything I could change, I would just do hash browns instead of ranch potatoes. Sometimes the potatoes are overcooked and dry, sometimes they're chewy and good. I discovered that I wrote a glowing review about Awake six years ago. Well, my experience last week cancels out that good experience. My daughter and I stopped in for a late breakfast. As far as I could see, there was only one other occupied table. The server took our order fairly promptly and brought our drinks. We both ordered the Garden Frittata with a side of hash browns and muffin. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. When we finally got our meals, none of the food was hot. None of it. We had been engrossed in conversation and just started eating. The food tasted fine but I can only assume it had been sitting on the counter for some time before being brought to us. When our server finally came back to the table (a good 20 minutes after leaving our meals), she did not ask if everything was okay, or ask about drink refills, she just asked if she could take our empty plates. My daughter asked for the check. Between the lengthy wait to be served and the lengthy wait for her reappearance, I'm guessing she was engrossed in conversation with another employee or perhaps on her cell phone and lost track of the time. In any event, there are too many other good breakfast places up north to waste another visit here. read more

Surprisingly we didn't have to wait too long for a table, probably about 15 minutes. Our waitress was a sweetheart (don't remember her name). I couldn't decide between their two seasonal fresh juices: Kale cooler or Peach, so she brought a sample of both for me to taste. This place was very good. I came on a Restaurant.com gift card. Despite the gift card, The food was affordably priced while having high quality and good size portions. I had the garden frittata with a side of French toast instead of toast. The frittata was sooo delicious and one of the least calorie meals on the menu. My boyfriend ordered an omelette with egg whites and he enjoyed it! All the staff was so friendly. Fun fact. There's a window in the swing doors where I could still see the same employee wiping his face every few seconds with his gloved hands. I was followed up with half a dozen employees staring at me through those kitchen windows. We have been coming to this restaurant for years. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back for the foreseeable future after our latest visit. Half of our party felt uncomfortable enough to leave before ordering due to concern for their health since they are at high risk. Awake is not following the minimum standards health protocols set for restaurants set by Gov. Greg Abbott. To start, there is no point in having employees wear face masks/covering if they remain around their necks the entire time. Also, your menu is already online so maybe redirect customers to that menu instead of handing out stained/dirty menus. Sanitize the tables. Seating a customer that had the last customers dirty plates and quickly taking those away and not spraying down the table doesn't provide a great image even if we weren't in the middle of a pandemic. We understand some of these are harder to implement than others but even simple protocols are still not being followed at this location like they are at other restaurants. I will list some of the recommended protocols below. Dining: Do not leave condiments, silverware, flatware, glassware, or other traditional table top items on an unoccupied table Provide condiments only upon request, and in single use (non-reusable) portions. Use disposable menus (new for each patron) Contactless payment is encouraged. Where not available, contact should be minimized. Both parties should wash or sanitize hands after the payment process. Train all employees and contractors on appropriate cleaning and disinfection, hand hygiene, and respiratory etiquette. Have employees and contractors wash or sanitize their hands upon entering the restaurant, and between interactions with customers. Have employees and contractors maintain at least 6 feet of separation from other individuals. If such distancing is not feasible, measures such as face covering, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, cleanliness, and sanitation should be rigorously practiced. Consistent with the actions taken by many restaurants across the state, consider having all employees and contractors wear cloth face coverings (over the nose and mouth). We were looking for a nice breakfast/brunch place a few days ago to grab a bite. This place delivered! It is similar to First Watch, which I believe they have in the area as well. The menu is different however, and I ordered the Kale Cooler and the Garden Frittata without green peppers and onions. I also added avocado and substituted the English muffin for a side of fruit. It was simple, but at the same time, delicious! The frittata was perfectly cooked and I would highly recommend it to any vegetarians. My only critique is the fruits could have been a bit better and had a bigger portion. The Kale Cooler was also refreshing, but quite similar to First Watch's kale juice. The restaurant is decorated very well and the employees there are nice. Jillian was our waitress and she was helpful and able to help us choose our dishes.
