Worse dining experience of my life! I've always loved Lux Cafe and always visit the Las Vegas location & This one here at the Galleria. We sat at our table for 1 hour before our food arrived. The server checked on us multiple times and was also confused why our food was taking so long and she said " it's just pasta! It shouldn't take this long!" She kept on bringing us bread, by the time our pasta arrived someone who was not our server brought the food. I think he may have been the one cooking in the back. His clothes were dirty, with food so I'm assuming he's a cook. He was so sweaty and out of breath. Brought our food and apologized for the wait. Tell me why our Pastas were Literally SWIMMING in oil! Like what?! The sauce was super salty, the meat in the pasta was burnt. Crusty burnt pieces which you could taste. I was hungry but disgusted at the food. Both of our pastas were sitting in a bunch of oil. The pasta was disgusting and we felt so sick after the few bites we did take. I will absolutely never in my life come here again. I felt robbed. I expect higher standards from Grand Lux Cafe. They were well aware of the slop they were plating and serving. They have absolutely no right to do this to people. Arrived for lunch on August 22 as part of my birthday celebration. My longtime friends joined me along with better half. It was difficult entering the restaurant entrance facing the North Dallas Tollway due to some type of construction in front of the building. We had reservations so the host took us straight to the table. We ordered food. We received a bread & butter appetizer. The bread was the "hard crust" type which was unacceptable. It's beyond me why restaurants would actually serve this hard crust bread to customers and expect recurring business. The food served was average...nothing to write home about. I find it interesting in my online reservations it was noted in the comments section that we were coming to celebrate my birthday. Neither the host nor server mention it during our time there. Unfortunately, we notice later at home on the receipt that we were overcharged by nearly $25. The golden rule still applies to thoroughly check your receipt BEFORE leaving the restaurant. read more

I've been to Grand Lux Cafe three times now, and I'm consistently surprised by how good the food is! The atmosphere has a fun, upscale Vegas feel with plush velvet and a touch of glam. The cocktails are great, and the food has exceeded my expectations every visit. Service has been on the slower side, but it's also been busy each time, so I can give them some grace. If the biggest complaint after three visits is slow service, I'd say they're doing pretty well! Definitely worth checking out. read more

We started coming after ice skating lessons on Sunday. The lessons start before the Galleria open and the Grand Lux was one of the few restaurants open. The service is excellent and the food has been fantastic. The portions are generous. We've had the chicken with waffles it has an amazing syrup and lightly crispy waffles much better than at any other restaurant we've eaten at. The child pasta and burgers are flavorful. I came back this time with a large group of 10 during the Christmas season and we were seated in 10 mins on a busy day. Our server was fantastic. He was attentive to everyone including the kids. Everyone's meals were fantastic as well and they were extremely hot. I highly recommend coming during brunch or lunch time so you can try different food items on their menu. So disappointed. This used to be one of my favorite spots, but not anymore. I recently visited after not being there for a few years, and the experience was nothing like I remembered. The salad was dry, my sides were forgotten, and although I wasn't charged for the fries I ordered, they arrived dry and tasted like they'd been sitting out for a while. The customer service was okay, but overall the quality has changed drastically. I won't be returning. I know the Houston location has already closed, and while this place has been around for years, it's sad to see the food and business go downhill.
