Will and Lorena are the BEST! We moved into a large home with lots of smoke detectors and thermostats, and also decided to install a security system. I loved their initial consultation, which included looking at the (somewhat dated) wiring in our home to determine compatibility. We also talked through all the options around smart doorbell, outside cameras, and different Nest thermostat models. We couldn't be happier with the results! We feel extra secure with all the suggestions they had about our security system, they took the time to uninstall all the hardware from the previous owners, and they took such extra, professional care with the install (including lovely touches like silicone insulating the holes for security cameras to prevent water leaks). And Lorena and Will are such nice people and a pleasure to work with. They made it super easy to work with them and they are so professional with great judgement. I was looking for a price quote from an authorized Nest dealer for an outdoor Nestcam installation. I saw these guys were the only ones on Nest's website with more than one or two reviews (and they are highly rated) so I thought I'd try for a quote. I reached out for a price quote on yelp and they got back to me promptly with a quote of $170 off a basic installation, but they would charge more to run the power cord into the house. They told me they recommended that I have a site visit, which would cost another $99. These prices seemed a little high but I was still willing to pay based on the good reviews. I asked if their policy was to waive the $99 site visit fee if I used their services (a common practice), but they said the only way to waive that fee would be if my site visit and the installation were done on the same day. I was still willing to do that, but I was hoping for some kind of range for the price of running the wire into the house. At that point, all communication from them stopped. So a day later I called them to see if I could get a ballpark range over the phone. Nobody answered and the call went to voicemail (a greeting that said I'd get a response within 24 hours). I still haven't heard anything from them. I don't think I was asking for too much...even if it was a very noncommittal answer like, "every job is different, but the typical range is $20 to $200" would have been better than nothing. I just don't want to be on the hook for $99 just so they could tell me this is going to turn into a $500 job on top of the $99 I would be charged just to get that quote. Thanks, but I'll look elsewhere. read more

These people are the ultimate in customer service. Lorena was helpful and cheerful in digging up all sorts of specs to satisfy my HOA to authorize the installation of Nest Hello intelligent doorbell.. When installation came, it turned out I had not understood I was supposed to buy the doorbell beforehand in a store. The technician called Lorena and she immediately dropped everything and went to a store to buy it and brought it to my house. Later I wasted the technician's time giving him an inaccurate password to my wifi. He was very gracious and remained completely friendly. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Lorena and Will at AvidWorks were outstanding! They were listed as install pros on the Nest website so contacted them as well as some other installers. Lorena was the most responsive and seemed the most organized so decided to have them scheduled an install of a Nest Thermostat and several Nest Protect smoke/CO2 detectors. Lorena was terrific! We had several changes in the scope of the work and Lorena was very accommodating with the schedule. We had some delivery issues with our items and not all the items arrived in time for the install but they mentioned that no job was too small and they still arranged for the install on the scheduled date and time. We were given a window of 9:30-10:30am but installation technician, Will Gates, arrived exactly at 9:30 am. Not only was he prompt but he was courteous and very efficient with our install. He walked us through the install and the features of each device. Did some installs of Nest Protects on some high ceilings and had no complaints and did the installs safely and cleanly. He was great!
