The best coffee around, and very close to me!!! I compared all the different coffee places, and Acre was qualitatively better! Yowza!!! read more

My FAVORITE coffee by far!! I go to Petaluma from San Rafael just for one of the tasty lattes. The vegan banana bread is off the hook good! Last time I went it was bustling and busy! Yet the service was relaxed and friendly. The food came out in a reasonable time and the coffee was spot on as usual! read more

A great spot for locals and visitors. I had the turmeric chai which was delicious. Acre seems to be a great place to catch up with a friend or just enjoy your beverage solo. Acre is a popular spot depending on the day so if the seating is taken you can always stroll around downtown. All in all you should give Acre a visit when in the town of Petaluma. read more

The breakfast sandwich here is delicious, one of the best that I have had from a grab and go cafe. The coffee was average and a bit too watery for my tastes because I like stiff coffee. read more

So so so Petaluma. Be warned: do not go if you are in a rush. Great coffee--of course--limited but delicious breakfast sandwiches. Vibe is just what you'd imagine which is either going to tickle you beyond measure and/or make you feel like you just walked onto a movie set of an Uber hip dog cafe. Everyone (but the baristas) is incredibly friendly, and those guys are deadly serious and you wouldn't dare interrupt them. read more

Want to thank the Acre Frontliners for being there for us all during these trying times and keeping us supplied with one of life's most precious pleasures........ Mochas!!!! A big shout out to all the baristas for their great work and especially for the consistently awesome mochas we get from barista, Bailey. read more

5/15/19 Updated review Still love acre but I wish they had not started adding greens to their hot sandwiches because it makes them very smelly :-( I frequently go into the downtown location and lately it's been inconsistent. Their baguette sandwiches keep getting smaller and smaller yet the price stays the same and this morning I ordered two kids hot chocolates and both were filled barely to halfway. I was in too much of a rush to say anything. read more

Sooooo slow due to so much chatting among employees. Tall blond woman with short hair has been making my avocado toast for like 10 minutes. She keeps stopping to continue a conversation with coworkers. I'm with a 3 year old and tho I'd love to pace myself according to employees' conversations I have other less leisurely demands on my time. I just wish they would prioritize customers over the chat. Adding a star because manager reached out to apologize and hopefully address the issue. read more

I've been to both locations in Petaluma and can say that I liked this location more, although there is nothing wrong with the other location. Both sites have the same drinks, but the one here has more food options aside from just pastries (I could be wrong about this). I love the casual atmosphere here, with the big open windows. I will say that the downtown location is smaller, so you may have trouble finding seats if they are busy. Parking can be hard to find in downtown and most are limited to only 2 hours. The one on Petaluma Blvd is a lot bigger with more seating. They also don't have as much foot traffic, so I guess it's all about preference. There is also a large parking lot located on this property. I ordered a mocha and I love that it's not sweet, but also not bitter at the same time. They definitely use a dark chocolate or bittersweet chocolate for their mocha. However, the drink wasn't very hot. This is true for both locations (I ordered the same drink). I did order it "for here" instead of "to-go", so I'm not sure if the cups had anything to do with the temperature of the drink. I also tried their chocolate croissant, which was nothing special, but I did love their cinnamon roll. Overall, this a very nice place to meet friends or just to come by yourself to get some work done. The espresso is of high quality, and the prices are comparable to any other coffee shop in town. read more

Got a latte and it tasted great! Their bathroom is open for customer use, and it was large and pretty clean. No sitting inside during covid (it looks like it would have been a really cute study space, though based on the number of people who were waiting for their orders, it seems to be a very busy spot). The line to order and to wait is not really that distinctly marked and you just kind of stand in your own staked out spot, which leads to some confusion and I think you will inevitably be asking someone "have you already ordered?" read more

One of the things I missed the most after moving to Petaluma from Healdsburg was the Flying Goat, so you can only imagine how elated I was to discover Acre Coffee, which is truly the Goat incarnate- not just because they serve Flying Goat coffee, but because the atmosphere is very much the same. It's clean, comfortable, and the baristas are are very welcoming. Even though it's a small space I've never had a problem finding a seat, and the outlets available along the walls (along with free wi-fi) make it very computer friendly. Also, the cookies (which they bake there) are divine, I highly recommend the one with chocolate chip and caramel. My only suggestion (well, hope, actually) would be that it stay open later... read more

I was just looking for a local shop to grab a reasonable coffee. Fit the bill. Nice staff. Easy going space.

Drink-in cappuccino comes with a small glass of sparkling water as palate cleaner, how fancy! It's almost 10am, and there's a party! read more

Avid Coffee - Cappuccino with latte art and the sparkling water as palate cleaner, with chocolate croissant. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Petaluma, California

I wouldn't consider this place as somewhere to get a good cup of coffee since there is a bitterness kick to it overpowering any flavors that it may have - not smooth or silky. It's more of a place to receive a local vibe where people can meet and chat it up or do some computer related work. I went here with my wife and ordered a breakfast sandwich that was dry and the egg patty was warm in the outside but cold in the middle. Bread was dry. Customer service was mediocre. They forgot my coffee and I had to ask for it when they brought up my wife's drink (not a big deal). There was a worker that was cleaning tables where he picked up someones plate that was done. He looked over to our table as I was placing two plates together and moving them to the side of the table which is usually a sign that we are finished with the plates. He didn't come by to take them. If this were good customer service, you make the round to pick-up all plates not just some. It is very small and confined. I wouldn't go back. read more

Stopped here 5 minutes before closing and was warmly welcomed with a smile. We were mid running a race and looking for hot drinks before heading out for the night shift. I purchased a thermos to keep my quad shot soy latte with honey drizzle and was totally delighted to have this treat through the night. The beans tasted like a dark roast, the soymilk was well balanced and the latte was overall delicious and held me through the race. Would like to come back and enjoy it in a single sitting sometime as it was difficult to get a great sense while traveling. The shop itself is worth a visit, set up with awesome wooden tables, superb light fixtures and has an academic, scholarly feel imbibed with local culture and delicious aromas. I also tried the peanut sesame triangle crunch which was exactly what I wanted- not too sweet, a bit on the crumbly side, but super nutritious and nourishing. Excited to come back for a Saturday morning study session some day but in the meantime I will relish my Acre thermos :) read more

The matcha was flavorless and the customer service was abysmal. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. I was yelled at by the manager; who proceeded to curse at me completely unprovoked. I will never be returning to this spot. Very very unfortunate, do better Avid. read more

Good coffee and clearly a local hotspot (I was visiting the area). Good quality drinks with many small breakfast/pastry options, although did not purchase. Lattes took a bit of time but worth the wait. Good location in town and easy parking was a plus read more

Well what can I say? It has kinda weird seating. Shelves along the wall with metal stools. Center table. I suppose it is for meetings but everyone can hear your business. They have a pencil sharpener next to a tip jar...the baristas are friendly. Poor thing she scalded her hand on the hot water dispenser:400 degree water!! I like the music that they are playing today. Old school alternative. At least they have a clean restroom. read more

This is one of my favorite coffee places in the North Bay. The coffee is dependably some of the best, every time I'm in, but I make this a destination to bring friends as well. The atmosphere is great for a light meal, and the food is always good. I love the english muffin with egg, and the toasts. I also like that its busy but not crowded when I come to Acre. Whoever planned this place out did a good job with the feng shui! read more

Their blueberry cornmeal muffin might literally change your life, it's too bad not more locations exist in the Bay Area, 35miles is a bit far to travel for a pastry. If I had known that the first bite was going to be so astounding, I wouldn't have ordered just 1. Bummer for my tastebuds but a real gift to my waistline!! read more

What kind of racist crap is this????? Screw this place. I (a white woman) walked in here at 2pm and bought a Kombucha and was given a decent size cup for $4.50. When my wife (a black woman) ordered the same thing at 3:30 and they gave her a cup half the size. Really? White hipster racism is kind of the worst. read more

New in town and this has quickly become my go-to coffee place. All I have ever had was an iced latte, but they are always delicious. Sometimes the way it is a little bit longer than the chain around the corner but it is so worth it. read more

Yelp got it right. Again. Acre Coffee did not disappoint. I enjoyed a phenomenal latte here. Nice medium roast. Top notch smoothness and flavor! I was so impressed, I bought a bag of beans before I left, the 1080. The purchase came with an 8 ounce coffee, which had a delicious chocolate accent. A latte back-to-back with a cup of regular. Fully wired, I could have jogged back to Oakland! The breakfast sandwich was pretty good too. Above par for a coffee house - I savored the savory cheese-plus-ham combination. In addition to the incredibly delicious coffee, they're pouring delightful stuff like kombucha on tap and housemaid ginger soda. Color me impressed. And not just by the goods. Acre is bright and airy, with modern, but not-too-sleek decor. The window seats are pretty sweet. Note that a few tables along the wall are laptop-free in the morning to preserve dining space. And there's a nice long table down the center with plenty of space (seems like an acre - har, har) for all the computer people. This is chill place to chat with a friend too. They played some tasty reggae the morning I dropped by and it mixed wonderfully with the sound of espresso machine steam. The staff was friendly and plenty pleasant - before 7am even! It's a mellow spot to get your reading, writing, laptop groove on with good wifi and outlets. You can even read an actual newspaper paper there. A friendly fella gave me a section of the WS Journal when he finished with it. The dog chilling out front had a bowl of water to lap from. From front to back, all seemed satisfied. This is the place for a delicious morning in Petaluma. Everything is irie. read more

Great coffee, pastries and sandwiches. Finally tried the mushroom sandwich and I think I have a new favorite!

Fantastic coffee and a comfortable area to sit and relax. Not from the area and this was an unexpected find. Often I'm not a fan of this style establishment - dinner might call it hipster - but I came for coffee and a bagel and a place to read and this delivered all. read more

Great coffee spot with quality/fresh coffee. Had myself an Americano - the espresso was delicious. My husband wanted a pour-over, but we were informed they don't make them past 2PM...so he ended up going with an espresso to go. He offered me a sip - and MAN was it delicious (definitely packed a PUNCH!). Will def stop back in next time we're in the area for our "afternoon coffee fix" - next time we may even indulge in one of their delicious looking pastry items (which were GINORMOUS, by the way!!). read more

Good coffee!!! However don't recommend on a weekend morning unless you have at least 45 minutes to burn. We walked in with just a few people in line, after which MANY customers showed up. We weren't savvy enough to place a mobile order but from the way it looked it shouldn't take too long.... Right?? So maybe 30 minutes later I finally walked up to the crew (who seemingly had no sense of which orders to fill first) and pointed out the name on our order which they then filled right away (points for that). I'm not a fan of Starbucks, but I think they have a good handle on order fulfillment. Just sayin'.. read more

I wrote a five star review that got lost. I'm thrilled to have an opportunity for a new discovery worthy of sharing. We had a fall veggie hash with soft boiled eggs and romanesco sauce. Incredible.
