Had my honda upgraded with rockford fosgate speakers. Dealt primarily with Antonio who was very knowledgeable and worked here for 15 yrs. He recommended the hertz speakers, an equalizer, hush mat, but I didn't know enough to make the switch or make equalizer purchase. I ok the hushmat to block some of the noise. He agreed that an equalizer could be done later. After 4 hrs, Vic, the manager was kind enough to say my installation would not be ready today, and would need one more day. Maybe bc of staff shortages, only 3 of the 5 were working or Easter week, I don't know. He offered me a ride home. Very satisfied with overall. I recently needed to by a replacement key fob for my remote start, and I needed it ASAP. I found that Avenue Sound carried it (thanks, Internet!) and asked my wife to pick it up. When I got home that night and saw the receipt, I almost fainted - the price we were charged was about $70 more than the price on the web site. I took the receipt and a printout of the web page to the store to point this out. I showed it to one of the staff, who then went and spoke to a supervisor. When he came back, I wasn't surprised by what he said - it's a new web service, there are glitches: all the babble one expects to hear in a case like this. And then he said, "But of course, that's not your problem," and refunded the difference immediately. If you were to see me, it'd be pretty obvious that I'm not going to be in the market for anything Avenue Sound sells in the near future, if at all, and many businesses would have ignored my problem. Instead, they stepped up and did the right thing. So, if they're going to treat someone from whom they will likely never get repeat business in a way that puts that customer first, how much more care will they give to someone who wants a major system installed? Bought a used truck with a pioneer navigation in it. I reset the Navi which required a password after the reboot. Me not being the original owner of the navi i didn't have the password. I brought it in and Vik was very helpful in taking me through the steps i had to take to unlock it. One of the technicians was working on the navi for about an hour when i finally got ahold of the original owner of the navi to give me the password. Vik had his technician reinstall the navigation for me and didn't charge me for the inconvenience. My brother has been going to this place for decade. They were great. I found them through Groupon while looking for tints. Didn't know they were there. When I got there I was welcomed and they took good care of me. They had put on a 6" strip of tint on my windshield that was a little too low as I'm tall. So they were very accommodating to that and corrected it with no issue even let me sit in the truck to find the perfect height. 10/10 would recommend. Before I write this review, I guess I should describe myself first. I am meticulous, detail oriented, I like simple, I demand performance. I do the research and I know what I want. I spend many hours in my car. I don't have a lot of time so when I have something done, I expect it to be done right. The first time! I bought a Subaru Legacy. I love it! But it needed some additions. I've always had work done to my new cars. I would go to local places because of the convenience (big mistake), I would go to a friend of a friend (even bigger mistake), I would go to a bargain place (biggest mistake possible). You live and learn. I'm assuming that's why I demand so much now. I don't want to go back every other weekend with issues. Is that so much to ask for? Can somebody tell me where to go? Where people take pride in their work? Where someone can appreciate one's love for attention to detail? Does anyone have any suggestions? Any recommendations? Please?!?! Well, with all due respect, you can keep your suggestions and recommendations. I don't need anymore, "just bring it back and we"ll take a look" or "it worked fine when you left, it must be something you did" (thanks Best Buy). I am so done with shoddy work. I am finished with a nice storefront and high school kids in the back with no true experience doing the actual work on the car you just spent many THOUSANDS of dollars on. I appreciate your suggestions and deals but I found a place. I finally found a place that employs car lovers. True, genuine, detail oriented, audio aficionado, custom work, labor of love, professionals! "AVENUE SOUND of Freeport"! If you go elsewhere... Good luck! And I mean that, really I do. But before you choose a bargain deal or a friend of a friend or a big box electronic store or another stereo install place, listen to my review first, you'll like it. Now I've always been used to Best Buy and 6th Ave and local stereo places and ALWAYS disappointed. I was driving through Freeport and saw Avenue Sound so I went in. The showroom was clean and bright. It was filled with speakers, alarms, monitors, head units, navigation, rims etc. Stuff you would expect to see. Customers were walking around. Overall, a good feel. I looked around for about 2 minutes and then was approached by Vik. Introduction was polite and thorough. He said, "Hi, my name is Vik, welcome to Avenue Sound, how may we help you?". Now, most people will not put much thought in that, but that introduction speaks volumes!! Allow me to explain; He introduced himself clearly while shaking my hand. A sense of pride in where he works knowing that his competition can not compare. He said "we", as in his team is ready to confidently satisfy another customer. A firm handshake while never taking his eyes off of me and saying, "you", tells me, even though they have a showroom full of customers, even though they are busy, that I was Vik's only customer. I told him what type of car I had and what I wanted. I wanted an alarm with remote start, tint, navigation head unit, subwoofers and an amp. We went over options. Many options. Pro's vs con's. Anything for every budget. He was very informative. I expect him to be knowledgeable, which he was, but what impressed me most was his patience. Once we started narrowing down what I was leaning towards, he introduced me to Antonio who helped me with the sound. Antonio explained my options with speakers. We went over price point, sound quality, what is necessary, what is not necessary, wiring, amp type/size, subwoofer type/size/ohms etc. enough information to make ones head spin. But that's the amazing thing about Antonio. He doesn't confuse you with all the necessary steps that make a great sound system. He slows down, he reads his customer. He knew when I started loosing him. He stopped, and explained it differently and not once did he make me feel like I couldn't keep up. If you don't want or need to know the intricacies that create a quality stereo then take Antonio's advice and trust him. He has a talent and every time I turn my stereo up it's a reminder of his expertise. Tell him what you want, your likes, your taste in music and Antonio will build you a tailored system that will fit and please every one of your senses. On YOUR budget. I listen to a wide range of music and he catered to that. He designed several options that would address my needs. He explained in great detail why and how one design will sound better. The BEST part of my car is... Not knowing I had any work done. Everything is tight, has a factory look, and most importantly, it just works! I can play a video for my son or listen to classical or talk radio, I can listen to rap or hip hop, I can stream anything from my iPhone, I type in an address and she takes me there. Perfect! EDITED: the manager said he wanted to work things out if I removed my reviews. I did so and he did not hold up his end of the deal, therefore the review is being posted again. If I could give them no stars I would; well worth the read if you want to know how this company operates: completely dishonest and unprofessional! On Jan 20th I had a scheduled appt and called at 9am to see approximately how long it would take to have the remote car starter installed. I called the same number on the groupon and asked for the Patchogue location. A man on the phone told me that I was not scheduled for today and he was all booked. I confirmed this was Patchogue and stated I had called on Jan 3rd to make this appt. He said the person who made my appointment never put it into their computer system but he is free all next week with no appointments. I then scheduled the appt for Monday Jan 23rd at 11am and said I would just wait for my car to be finished. Monday comes around and my husband takes the car to Avenue Sound in Patchogue, arriving at 10:50 saying his wife called to schedule an 11:00am appointment. They sales person, Vic, said "You need it done today?" to which my husband responded "Yea I'm just going to be hanging around." My husband then left the store to walk around and returned approx 30 minutes later. Vic was standing at the front desk. My husband then sat down in a waiting area just behind the central desk location. He said Vic walked by the room every few minutes but never said anything about the car. 1:30pm my husband asked Vic if the car was almost ready. Vic then claimed he had no idea my husband was waiting for it to be done (really? two hours of sitting in your store and you think he is going to leave and come back?). Vic said he would expedite the process and also told my husband that when I called I had called the Freeport location and scheduled an appointment with them so he was doing us a favor by taking it in Patchogue today. Lie #1. My husband told me all this so I called the Patchogue number and asked for an explanation as to why my appt was not being honored and how much longer it would take. Vic told me he was sorry for the confusion and not sure where it was coming from, but that when he spoke to me on Friday (because he claims he is the only one who answers the phone) he confirmed I had an appt for 9am that I did not show up to. I told him that's funny because I spoke with someone on Friday and rescheduled my appointment for 11am today, stating I would be waiting for my vehicle, not dropping it off. Vic told me I must have scheduled with Freeport and that he had already made commitments to other customers to have their cars done so the best he could do was have mine finished around 4:00pm because the only employee's there today were him and the technician. He also said he did not know my husband was there waiting. When exactly were you going to tell him he had to wait 2.5 hours for this "expedited" process? I arrive at the store 30 minutes later and see three employee's. What happened to only Vic and the tech? I see Vic and extended my hand to introduced myself, then said I wanted to be sure my car would be finished by 5pm because not only was I lied to (3 employees not 2) but I had to get a sitter to watch my 3 month old son so I could come here to pick my husband up and will need to get another one to come back for our car. Vic becomes defensive and again says he doesn't know where the confusion is coming from, he did not know my husband was waiting, the other employee is just a "helper" and I did not call the Patchogue office. He then says "where is this conversation going?" I told him I wanted to ensure that my car would be finished by 5pm with no problems since he has continually lied to me. He tells me it will be done. My husband starts walking toward me to leave and Vic says to the "helper" "What time did you come in today? 2pm? So that was after I spoke with you on the phone. And to be fair, your husband did leave the store and then come back." Excuse me Vic but I thought you didn't notice him for 2 hours because you were the only employee in the store? read more

I have been coming to Avenue Sound for several years now. I heard about them through a family member that got a sound system installed in his car and recommended them. In the past several years, I have gotten remote starters installed on 3 different cars and my father has gotten remote starters installed on 3 different cars as well. We have always been very satisfied with their service. I have always had Viper Remote starters installed here. I've always chosen Viper because they have a lifetime warranty - I'm not sure if other brands have that as well. Recently (since my car is getting old) I had a problem with my remote starter and called Avenue Sound. I spoke to Antonio who set up an appointment for me. He was extremely helpful and fixed the problem without charging me a fee. In this day and age, it's hard to find a car installation place that isn't looking to nickel and dime you for cash. Having an automatic starter is essential for me (living in the Northeast of course). I no longer live on Long Island, but since my family lives there I will always return to Avenue Sound whenever I need something installed on my car. They install sound systems, satellite radio, car alarms, and remote starters. I recommend you speak with Antonio as he has always provided excellent customer service. Their prices are fair for the high quality work that they do. I believe that they get pretty busy on Saturday (especially in winter) so it's best to call in advance, especially for a Saturday appointment. Their Freeport location is convenient to Nassau County Long Island and Queens. I have never been to their other location in Suffolk County but I would imagine that they do the same high quality work. read more

I'm a regular at Avenue Sound in Freeport as I'm constantly doung work on either my Altima or Civic. I've had a few issues with them here and there but for the most part the problem has always been resolved and I get good customer service. Today I came in at the last minute as my Infinity sub-woofer blew for the 2nd time in 5 months. Tony helped me out immediately even with the shop closing within an hour on Memorial Day. I purchased a car stereo and speakers from here about two years ago. The sales person recommended the equipment. Less than one year after the installation, a front speaker failed which they replaced and did not giving me a receipt for warrantee. A little after that, both front speakers failed. I meet with one manager who did a thorough job trying to assess the issue and give feedback. We scheduled an appointment for the following Saturday when my daughter could travel back and forth from an upstate school. On the following Saturday, unfortunately the manager on duty that day had little concern for the issue or the prior replacement from the start. I left the car and he contacted me latter and told me I needed new front speakers and that it would cost $256 dollars. There was not discussion of replacement options. He stated the speaker magnet, on the newest speaker, fell off due to water in my door (bad seal). Under duress, I allow the new speakers to be put in and included a baffle on his recommendation to protect against water damage (I felt god forbid I had another issue without the baffle). He proudly also pointed out the warrantee had expired despite the recent replacement I mentioned. He stated he would not charge for installation and when I asked for a discount due to this exceptional situation, he was very concerned and told me the profit from the speakers would just cover the installation cost that he was not charging me for directly and that no discount would be given. Later, upon inspecting the speakers, there was no sign of water damage on the speaker which lost its magnet and it actually looked in better condition than the other speaker which was older. Also, I later looked on their website and saw that speakers "only" without tweeters could have been purchased for about $100.00 less and the speaker set he sold me was actually on sale for $50 less. Avoid this establishment if you wish accurate and reliable service and products. Check yelp reviews before you go anywhere. I wish I had. read more

SO HAPPY !!! Such a warm inviting environment. They were able to take me right away. They were so fast!! Im relieved at how affordable fast and efficient there service was. While waiting I was greeted by each individual making sure I was taken care of. (Such a beautiful shop fully equipt, its hard not to think of what to do next while waiting) Such a friendly atmosphere even the customers were delightful. Very very happy, and to be honest pleasantly surprised, I usually find environments like that to be intimidating, especially not knowing Audio, but they were very cool, I felt very comfortable. not bad for a Saturday morning !!! ..Thank you guys so much for helping me!!!!! My front speaker was working on and off and not only did they remove and explain the problem, but they took me right then and there and fixed everything !
