M-Spec Performance is truly everything you want in a mechanic -- and everything you usually don't expect to find. Earlier this year we purchased a 2016 Range Rover in New Jersey and brought it to M-Spec Performance for a post-sale vehicle inspection. What we received was far beyond a typical inspection. Steve and his team were incredibly thorough, documenting every issue in an extremely detailed report and backing it all up with extensive photographic evidence. Their report was so comprehensive that we were able to take it back to the seller, return the vehicle, and obtain a full refund. Without Steve, his team, and the extremely detailed documentation and photographs they provided, getting the vehicle returned and receiving our full refund would have been a lot more difficult, to say the least. Their attention to detail quite literally helped protect us from being stuck with a vehicle that had significant issues. We've since returned with our new vehicle and plan to be continuing customers. What impressed us just as much was their communication throughout the entire process. They are extremely open and honest about whatever situation you're dealing with, explain what to expect financially, and never make you feel pressured or kept in the dark. They are also incredibly helpful when it comes to navigating extended warranties and will actually take the time to walk you through the process & help where they can. Their online platform is another level of transparency. Every single detail is documented, logged, and maintained, and they provide photographs so you can actually see what they are finding and working on. You always know what is happening with your vehicle and why. And beyond all of that, Steve and his team are patient, kind, approachable, and genuinely invested in helping their customers. They take the time to explain things and make sure you understand your options rather than making you feel like just another repair order. Honestly, they are everything you want in a mechanic: thorough, honest, transparent, communicative, patient, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. Finding a mechanic you can truly trust is not easy. M-Spec Performance has absolutely earned ours. Five stars doesn't even feel like enough. We would highly recommend Steve and his entire team to anyone looking for a shop that will genuinely look out for you and your vehicle. read more

Very disappointed with the lack of pricing transparency and hidden fees. I called ahead to get a quote for a basic Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) and was verbally quoted around $220 by Jason. However, when it came time to pay, the total bill shot up to over $285. On top of sales tax, they tacked on a $21.65 "Parts Kit / Shop Supplies" fee--on a purely visual inspection where ZERO parts or shop supplies were actually consumed. When you call for a simple inspection quote, you expect to be told the out-the-door price, not hit with undisclosed shop fees at checkout. The technician's inspection itself was okay, but the deceptive quote and hidden fees leave a bad taste. If you choose to use this shop, make sure you get a strict "out-the-door" price in writing before dropping off your vehicle. read more

Steve did a great job on my 540 replacing the CV boots. The shop is in great condition both inside and out and you can tell from that the kind of service you'll get. I originally went to Beemer world in Farmingdale but the guy never showed up to even pick up my car nor did he call. Try M-spec read more

I brought my 135i to M-Spec and while I haven't had any service performed (yet) I can say confidently after speaking with Steve - that they are extremely knowledgeable and straightforward. Steve took the time to talk me through dropping off (my baby) on what seemed to be a busy day for him. If you are looking for a shop that knows BMW's this is it. I am hoping to use them for all the work I can't do myself! read more

M-Spec to the rescue! After visiting them a couple months ago for diagnostics and repair, my battery suddenly died. I called and Steve got me right in; my car was quickly ready for the road again with a new battery. Their work is top notch and extremely efficient. I appreciate the pictures and detailed messages they send of the car with their assessment of needed work. Give them a call; you'll be glad you did. read more

In response to my review to M spec, they claimed I needed front and rear brakes, a lie, only needed back brakes, front brakes weren't even 2 years old, they said I needed a new steering rack assembly, 2,500, I guess there technician is unqualified and still in training, all it needed was a sensor and recalibration, apparently they were going to rob me on that too, another 1,500 for a radiator it didn't need. I suggest to keep your distance from this shop and the manager who's willing to drain you dry. If you were a casualty of this business, go to E2 motor sports in Freeport, NY, go see Evan or Dylan, top notch work and honest people, M spec wanted over 8K to do work on my vehicle, E2 was 1000 dollars, that's quite the difference, M spec charged me close to that just to diagnose it, especially when I told him the history and problems of the car, I understand that they need to diagnose it, but really now, it was another rip off they provide. Had they have qualified technicians who did their job correctly, maybe they would have been able to do what E2 technicians can, or, I was just another person who fell in their trap, do yourself a favor next time your German vehicle needs work, give E2 a shot, and keep your distance from these crooks . read more

M-Spec did a pre purchase inspection for a car that I was looking to purchase in their area specifically. They were fantastic to work with, providing a detailed breakdown with pictures of the car along with a great conversation about the car and the ability to reach out later if anything comes up. I wish they closer to my location so they could be my mechanic shop of choice. read more

From the moment I walked in, Steve made my experience memorable. Not only did he recommend better options for what I was looking to do, he found ways to save me money and put better parts into my car. It's always hard finding good reliable mechanics and the crew at M-Spec are knowledgeable and take the time to educate the customer! A++ Highly Recommended! read more

Highly recommend this shop. Steve is a pleasure to deal with and the work done is top-notch. Very careful and meticulous work. I presented them with a very challenging ABC suspension repair on a MB SL500 and they performed miracles getting this extremely complicated and fragile system to work properly. Car rides like it is brand new now. VERY happy customer. I would trust Steve with any repair I had no matter how complicated or involved. Steve is a master mechanic that cares about your vehicle and will do everything needed to get it running in top condition and make sure you are happy with it. This shop is way above dealer level service. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised and impressed by the service I received here from Steve Z and Nick, (I rarely post anything reviews in general) I felt compelled to write this one! I have much reservations about auto mechanic places especially being a woman that I may be taken advantage of or spoken to in a patronizing way. I had called to see if they would service other cars aside from European ones and they "do all", I was told at this branch. I brought my Jeep in asking if they would check if I needed new brake pads/rotors secondary to feeling while driving my car it felt a little bit off and it may be due to the wear and tear of the brake components. They happily checked and I was "told, shown and explained" that it's not necessary yet, and still have life to drive safely for a few more months (dependent on how I drive, of course). I was so impressed with their honesty and the thorough education of what was involved and how it should look and the degree of degradation before it needs to be changed. I will be back there when it's time to change and maintain one of the most important features in ensuring safe driving in my Jeep!!! Annddd, there was no charge in spending their time checking and driving the car to evaluate my complaint. What more can I ask for, First Class Sevice at M-Spec!!! Thank you guys!! read more

I brought my BMW to M-Spec Performance in Lindenhurst on Friday 4/17 to have them do a software upgrade tune by Noelle Performance. Let me begin by saying that I treat my car as if it is my child so obviously I do my research prior to bringing it somewhere "new." That said, a good friend recommended M-Spec Performance and man am I glad I took his recommendation. Steve Z has a wealth of knowledge and his level of experience and professionalism is second to none. He quickly and kindly responded to ALL (yes, a lot) of my inquiries which in turn was the main reason I decided to give them my baby. Let's start with the obvious- if you have a performance BMW then NOELLE PERFORMANCE is 110% the way to go. It is by no means inexpensive but worth EVERY PENNY. My car felt like a rocket and drives beautifully as my daily. I appreciate how comprehensive and involved the tune actually is as compared to "piggy-back" tunes that just don't do the car justice. Steve and the crew- I cannot thank you enough for your incredible service and expertise. I literally grin from ear to ear thanks to you guys and greatly appreciate you treating my car as if it's your own. You have earned a customer for life. Folks- please give these guys a chance next time your considering getting any type of work done, especially if you want it done with honesty and reliability. Amazing job guys, thank you so much!! Great shop. Steve, the service manager went beyond for me. Been looking for somewhere other than the dealership to bring my M-B ML. Found M-Spec in Lindenhurst. Super easy making an appointment with Steve. Shop was easy to find, big, and clean. The customer lounge is well-lit and clean. The day I brought my car in, the technician wasn't available. Instead of having me come back another day, Steve, in addition to checking me in, did all the work on my ML. He showed me exactly what needed to be done and my options. Way more thorough than any dealership I've brought my car to. The followup has been great as well. Again, great shop and great service! read more

Great service, Steve explained everything upfront and even did a small cosmetic repair for no charge.

I have never in my entire life received such top notch customer service and care from a automotive business such as M-Spec Performance. Steve is truly so knowledgeable and actually showed me while my car was jacked above us in his work area detail for detail what it needed now and for the future , what to watch out for all while in the process giving me valuable information. Such a pleasant experience and I told Steve he is now my permanent car doctor ! I will recommend him every single time the opportunity arises ! It was nothing less than spectacular customer service I received. Thank You so much again Steve ! read more

Steve is an excellent automotive technician -- very chill guy, friendly, and knowledgeable. He helped me understand a lot of things about my BMW that I needed to know, and every time I go I learn a few more things. He inspected my car that I recently purchased, did my oil change, and installed my new wheels. Excellent service, would recommend. read more
