Let me tell you, John will take care of you like your his own kids. So what I mean by that is he will not just fix the problem, but explain to you on why there was a problem in the first place. He makes you feel comfortable with his knowledge and expertise. I highly recommend for anyone who wants to get electrical work done on there car to go there. What my issue was that I purchased some aftermarket tail lights and when he installed it the brake light didn't work. So he suggested I reach out to the company and explain to them what we did and show them that it's not working and it was there product. They replied back and assumed it was another issue and it may have been installed wrong or my OEM was damaged. John dug a little deeper and we were able to fix it and prove that the manufacturer was wrong. There wires on the lights was faulty. Thank you again for saving the day and now I can finally say I have a electrical place to go to. read more

I went to Long Island. Sounds because I needed a rear camera for my Nissan Altima and had the pleasure of meeting John the owner. He is very patient and explained to me that it would be to my benefit to replace the radio also and made recommendations based on financial factors on the different radios And back view cameras. The job was accomplished in three hours, and I must say that I was exceedingly happy with his work and the time that he took to explain to me how the system works. I had to come back twice, not because of any defect in the product but because I need further training on how to use it he was very patient and took the time to do so. I highly recommend John and his establishment. Absolutely great service and highly recommended. read more

I would definitely use his company again and highly recommend anyone looking for great service with high quality to use him. Thanks. read more

John was courteous and did a great job on installing my front and back dash camera. He took the time needed (roughly an hour and a half) and all the wires are tuck away nicely. Overall service was great with a fair price. read more

John did a great job setting up a 2-channel dash-cam for me and quickly added another power outlet. He got it all done in just 30-45 minutes! Ignore the overly sensitive customers leaving 1-star reviews. read more

I've gone to a few places to get navigation units and remote starters for my past 2009 civic and 2011 CRV. They were more expensive and some of the factory buttons were not useable after. I wanted to install a remote starter for my 2015 Nissan Rogue, I spoke to John over the phone and he was VERY professional and courteous. I stopped by the next day and he wasn't trying to take money out of my pocket like all the other places, he broke down every remote starter module and then asked what I wanted. I felt comfortable and knowledgeable about the products and what I wanted after speaking with John. FYI, remote starter has been installed since yesterday and everything works great! I definitely will be coming back for future works to my vehicles. read more

YOOOOOOO!!!! Adding another 5 Star Review for Big Papa John in 2018!! (no not the pizza!!) Brought my QX56 to get some work done. While I was there, i watched him handle a situation where a customer bought a pre-amped bass box that fits under a seat. John was on it for hours when he ran into an issue. Being that it was bought online and even though LI SOUNDS is a reseller of the brand, he COULD NOT go through his channels for support. It took him a while but got he someone on the call and problem resolved! John did what he did to get the job done and was honest about the hours and the cost even with the extra time he spent and DIDN'T charge for!!! His experience and honesty is worth more than he charges. So my ass waited extra shop time because this customer wanted to save money, but guess what, it was #CoolNotCool since i like hanging out there. but i have shit to do ya know?! SOOO....the lesson the guy learned is that he should have bought direct from John and not waste time buying from an online. #PennySavedDollarFoolish Oh and the reason i brought my QX, tints. John himself doesn't tint (because hes NOT SHADEY...get the pun!?!) but he has the right people in his crew. Awesome fucken job as always!! yup i cursed...best way to get me point across! Viva LI Sounds! oh wait... let me hastag that too! #VivaLongIslandSounds read more

Very satisfied with the work done here. I wanted to know the work was done right the first time by someone who totally knows installations, as opposed to a mechanic in a shop. I bought both the head unit and front and rear speakers from John, and the system sounds great in my little Toyota. I want to add that John never tried to upsell me on anything I was looking to buy. This was my second time coming here. He's been here twenty five years now. If you're looking for someone to do audio for your car, I strongly suggest stopping by and meeting John, as well as Googling his website. He's pretty well estabished in the community. I also think it's telling that guys with expensive sports cars trust him to work on them. read more

Very dissatisfied with the service ..owner very nasty..acted like he was doing me a favor...was indignant and not helpful at all ...asked to pick up my car at a certain time , then called to say he still had more work to do on it and when he was done he would call me , but never did ...i assumed he wasnt done but then yelled at me when he saw me saying i was late..im not a child and do not expect to be treated or talked to as such ...go somewhere else for service ...not worth it read more

Saw that John had excellent reviews on Yelp and gave him a call. Needed to have a company GPS installed and he said come in on Tuesday. All the 5 star reviews for LI Sound are true. I brought my old 2000 Honda civic to get the radio system replaced. Not only are his prices comparable (if not cheaper) than competitors, he did not try to sell me anything more than what I asked for. I wanted the simplest and so he showed me the simplest, did not try to get me to pay for more than I wanted. A previous mechanic had taken some short cuts on my previous stereo which created extra work for him, but he didn't charge me for the extra time. Plus I had a pent license plate holder which he fixed for free. I'm going to recommend all my friends come to him. Very happy with result. read more

As a huge fan of cars, bright lights and sounds for my cars, John and his crew know how to get it done right! I have been using LI Sounds for over 15 years and recently just had HID lights installed in both the headlights and fog lights of my 2016 Dodge RAM. For those who don't know, Dodge does not make this easy, and a lot of dealers don't mess with them. LI Sounds does, and has done so for the 2 previous RAM Trucks I had as well. In the past, I have had him make a custom double 12" subwoofer system for a Mercedes E55 AMG I owned and even had Tinting done to EVERY vehicle! To give you a real barometer for my trust in LI Sounds, aside from friends, I referred my IN-LAWS for a remote car starter and they loved the work and product! If you need great quality work for your Prize car or everyday vehicle and you want personal knowledgeable experience from a solid local business, LI Sounds is THE place to go. Thanks again John and see you with the next vehicle! Jimmy read more

John is a great guy to deal with. He installed my radio for me at a fraction of the dealer price. I sent two friends to him for backup camera installations and both were very happy with the price and service. I brought my niece there after the camera system she had installed at another store for twice the price stopped working after only a year. She is very happy with the new system which works great. I highly recommend LI Sounds. read more

John is honest and will not try to nickel and dime you. I brought my car into his shop a few weeks ago. After opening up the panels and looking at my parts, he said they're not going to work for my car and sent me home! I paid the man for his time and was on my way. read more

I was having trouble with my remote/alarm in my MB S550 and the owner John was Super helpful. Here's the thing .. he knew he wasn't getting a sale with me because he doesn't do Mercedes factory alarms... but he Still helped me try and trouble shoot my system. That day he was busy doing his own stuff.... but he took the time out to try and help me ... reset my alarm .. disconnect and reconnect stuff ... and help me. He is very knowledgeable in all types of vehicles and stuff in general. You don't get that type of help anymore with other businesses . John is a good guy. I highly recommend this place and will send people there when they need. By the way .. his place is spotless clean ... just... a great find! Thanks John, Frank! read more

Two years ago I had a bad experience with another company I went to for my sound system. Movin on Sounds in Franklin Square. I spent over 1000 bucks for them to completely mess up the wiring in my truck that never had a problem before the stereo was installed. When i called them to fix it, they couldn't be bothered. So this time when I got another car, I decided to bring it to L.I. Sounds. I'm glad I did. John, the owner, was not only helpful with picking out the best sound system for my car, he was extremely knowledgeable with my cars make and model. He went into his computer system and made sure that the system I wanted would work well with my vehicle. On top of that he explained everything he did and how it all worked when the job was finished. He's extremely professional and courteous to his customers. Being that I am a woman, most places geared towards men try to take advantage of a woman. Not John. I have to say i am extremely happy with my new sound system and backup camera. I highly recommend this place and will be going there again. read more

This place is great! John was very professional and knowledgeable. He knew exactly what had to be done and he did it efficiently and effectively. Had a few questions and he was more than happy to answer them and he even showed me step by step the process for installing the product on my car (LED Bar). I would recommend 10/10 times. Over 20years of experience in this business and he has a natural love for what he does. read more

I came to John with a challenge. I wanted to bring a 2005 Volvo into the modern age by adding bluetooth. I purchased a part online and asked John if he would install it. He agreed. Long story short, the part I purchased online turned out to be a nightmare. It didn't work. The company sent a replacement and John swapped it out for me. I was also having a problem with my heat and while John did the swap, he figured out how to fix my heating controls. My mistake was buying something online in the first place. I should have gotten the part from John right from the start. His customer service is excellent and he was very patient working through a problem which I brought to him. I strongly recommend L.I. Sounds. read more
