Most of our apartment windows face due west, and the summer sun is brutal. It hurt my eyes. So I hired a small company whose job is to apply clear material that includes something that decreases the amount of glare without darkening the windows from the inside. It looks like the big brother of plastic wrap, but is sturdier and comes in different degrees of tint--customer's choice. We chose NEW YORK CITY WINDOW TINTING, which we found on Yelp, where they've earned many excellent reviews. (I'm finally adding mine!) Jerry Ciccio is the principle. He did an excellent job on all my windows. The cost was reasonable, he and his helper arrived as planned, and finished and cleaned up very well. They were responsive and helped set up an apportionment right away. Set up for tints all around with a tint strip. Upon arrival i was told it would only take an hour or so. However it took the whole day from my drop off at 9 AM - 6:30 PM. I was the first appointment and was the last to have my car picked up. I have had the tints on for a month and was hoping for the bubbling to go away however, it is still there on the top of my tint strip. The price is alright but if you're in flushing or brooklyn you can get it much cheaper with better tints. read more

No real personal customer service tho; just basically letting them know what you want, small talk on the different color tints, and that's it. Yeah, Jerry is the man. Arriving at my appointment time, I pulled up intending to park and go inside and wait, but he immediately waved me into the shop. They got right to work. That in itself was different from most of my experiences with any place that does any thing by appointment. It's usually for entertainment purposes and the time that any work gets done is at the sole discretion of the shop. The work took a little longer than I had expected, but only because the guys in the shop wouldn't settle for pretty good. They did a perfect job. It was so good I got pulled over and the cop just wanted to compliment me on the tint job. Sorry Jerry, I told the cop that I did it myself. He gave me a ticket for lying to an officer. Great quality, Great customer service. I am very picky person especially when it has something to do with my car. I just got a new BMW X5 and like with my previous cars the first order of business is to tint the windows. With my previous cars I always went to customization shops for high end cars and I always had a negative feeling when I left. The job was done, but something always had to be changed or fixed in order to satisfy my need for perfection. At NYC Window Tint it was different. I drove in on Friday, got an estimate and were given several optional appointment dates within the next couple of days and a lot of options for the type of tinting tape. Which never happened in other places I visited. I dropped off the car at 9:30am on the day of the appointment and got a call at 12:30 that the car is ready to be picked up. When arrived the car was finished and clean. The tints look great. No water/air bubbles. No waiting. No scratches. No dirt inside the car. No glue or dirt on my new leather seats. Job well done all around. It took me 5 minutes to drop off the car and even less time to pay and pick it up.
