A bit disorganized and service can be a hit or miss here. There were some workers that were very eager to help answer questions despite the line behind me. Others just ignored as we walked by. There were piles of boxes of products in the aisles and special sale sections in the center were a mess. This staples carried everything I needed, but if it were a bit more well organized, the shopping experience would be better. Good things: There's a technology center that helps replace phone screens which is a nice service. The clearance center has a lot of cute and useful items as well so check it out! read more

Hi Friends! Everyone has Tech Today. Everything is wired now. Your car, your fridge, your phone and even your pet. The Technical Highway is only as fast as the vehicle you're in. Staples has all sorts of odds and ends that you need to power and connect your technology. It's difficult finding some of this stuff all under one roof. Many of the items that I needed were only available online. I'm not really an online Shopper yet, but I guess I'll become one if this is the way of the future. I Love personally shopping and making the connection with the employees, salespeople and the managers. This personal involvement gives me the confidence to spend my hard-earned money in their stores and creates customer loyalty. I don't like being directed back to the comfort of my living room or tap on my phone out of my car to order from Amazon. . I'm just not that kind of Shopper..(yet)..I like to look at the product, hold it in my hands, ask questions and make educated decisions. I like to walk around see how you run and stock your stores. I want to see everything that you have to offer and decide. I like to pay and take it away today. I really need a personal concierge like service in which my questions are knowledgeably addressed. I'll spend a ton of cash if you treat me right.. THAT'S why I'm here. Steve, the General manager was very helpful. He directed me to the cables and cords I needed. Unfortunately, they were out of stock on the micro 200 SD cards for my phones @ $109.00 ea ..I needed 4. The whole reason I came here. Every one was very helpful here. Just need to have more popular items in stock. Like SD cards during the holidays. As there is not a single restaurant in this shopping mall where Staples is located.. I do recommend munching out on some of the DELICIOUS candy they have here on the rack by the register. I'll take a TOBLERONE! read more

This place is a joke. Amazon should pay Staples a bonus for driving customers to purchase online from them instead of here. The employees, (if you actually happen to run into one) walk around like disinterested zombies. Checkout lines are long due to Staples only hiring one or two cashiers; often there's only one cashier working at any given time. The prices are much higher than what can be found online. As you might have noticed, I'm struggling to find a reason to shop here again. read more

Big sign to the right when you walk in says "copy center" and they have a bunch of what appear to be copy machines. They don't work and neither do the employees behind the counter in this area. They will point you to one "working" copy machine with a line of people waiting to use it. After waiting 20 minutes when my turn finally came, guess what? It wouldn't print my file. I ask the guy who went before me how he managed to get his stuff printed and he said he didn't. He was trying but then gave up. Here's an idea for Staples, why don't you have working copy machines in your copy center or at least a human being who can help customers. What a waste of time. read more

The staff there are very kind and helpful, even when they are busy, they acknowledge me and get my order done in a timely fashion. The self serve machines were slightly confusing, but the young lady from the copy center, Megan, was very kind and helpful when assisting my needs. All I wanted was 5 copies. The girl wasn't busy but she insisted that I do self copies, even though I was in a rush and she said the self registration process was long and tedious. It would have taken her no time but she didn't help me and I ended up leaving without my copies. I won't be back. So disappointed, especially since the staples at Gateway has such awesome support staff. read more

Great customer service from one of the electronics supervisors, whose name escapes me at the moment. For some reason, the product description on staples.com did not match the actual product on the shelf for a charger (whether it included a USB cable or not), and the supervisor chose to honor the description online and included the missing cable as a non-chargeable part of my purchase. He also approved an override when the store's pricing computer did not match my Staples flier pricing for another product. Absolutely above-and-beyond customer service experience, making me a repeat customer in an instant. read more

This location is very racist. The " manager " refused to provide his name after asked several times. He did not have a name tag on, refused to provide store number as well as corporates number. Very rude to customers who are coming to shop with their young children. When asked were the any managers above him to assist me he walked away. Please do not shop here there are many other locations. read more

The right sales associate can make or break your shopping experience. I pop in and out of Staples on occasion when needed. I had to use the copy and printer center recently to print out wedding programs on a heavy metallic card stock because they would not fit in my inkjet printer. The guys could not be more helpful. I had an issue with the original print out and had to be reprinted . After explaining the situation Lee the customer associate was understanding and reprinted them at no cost. While waiting for my documents I was watching Lee at work. I was really impressed by they way he handles the customers and his knowledge of how to do his job properly. Most of the employees at the Oceanside location seem nice and friendly willing to help and assist a lot more than most other retail Staples locations I have been to. Joanne a sales clerk told me about some great clearance deals going on and I saved almost $60 in needed supplies. It feels good to write a complimentary review for a big box retail store.I am pressing the EASY button when it comes to my experience at this Staples. read more

Copy center is a mess. Worst service and short staffed. 14 drawings dropped off at 3pm, pick up next day at 8:30am and never got to it. Explained again what I needed and took them 25 minutes to figure it out and still wrong. I walked out and won't use them again. read more

I was in Staples today to print a 108 page double sided B&w document. They had several self service printing machines and none of them could print the document, even after trying to use Google Drive and my USB drive. After asking for help, I was told, "the networks are old and it would be best to print to the Staples store from home." I came prepared and I felt I wasted my time. read more

But the absolutely outstanding, above-and-beyond customer service I received from the manager on duty last nite, Eric, simply must not go unmentioned. Staples has an email blast they now send out called "Deal of the Day" Yesterday (Wednesday's) deal was for an Olympus pockte camera package, with case and comfort strap: List Price: $199.99; Special discounted price: $159.99; Deal-of-the-Day price: $129.99. I could only get there late on Wed nite, sicne I work. I showed the flier to Eric, and asked if they had any more in stock. He looked and told me know, they all sold out earlier in the day. But then he not only went on to see if on-line Staples had any more (nor), but also checked nearby Staples stores to see if any were around. Nada. Then he did one more thing: He rechecked his store computer, and noted that his inventory showed that 1 piece was delivered that day. He went in the back, and PRESTO: My wife will not be disappointed this holiday. It just goes to show that it's the individual people that matter, not the business. read more

In order to get some one to climb the ladder to bring down an office chair box, I had to form a mob with another furniture shopper. When the clerk from the IT desk approached (10 minutes after first asked for help), he was intercepted by another customer in the calculator paper aisle. I had to service the other customer myself (helping to prove to him that his paper would fit his new calculator) to free up the clerk to get my chair. read more

Do not buy any camera from staples unless you are 100% sure it's seal and new. This location is selling defected products or stuff that was returned and they do not take it back. When you try to speak to the manager on duty they cut you off, they do not want to help in anyway. so save yourself the trouble. read more
