I have lived in East Meadow for most of my life and this is the first time I have a complaint. Every letter carrier has been friendly, courteous and efficient until now. We had someone at the hospital barracks who recognized us at our first house and recited our old address. My father, a former postal supervisor, looked forward to saying hello to their Bruce Drive letter carrier; she even asked about him when he missed a few days. Most recently, we had Charlie, who didn't tell us he was retiring until the last day, forgoing a goodbye gift. After Charlie, we had Candis. Both Charlie and Candis were so careful with the mail, that we joked about it being gift-wrapped. We haven't seen Candis in a month and have given up hoping she was on a long vacation. Our current letter carrier has twice neglected to take the mail we put out, instead pushing it into the slot with the new mail. After the first time, I caught him and complimented him on taking that mail, because I didn't think he knew about that. He may have nodded a response. Several times, the (second class) mail was shredded going through the slot. Please tell me this is a sub or temp trainee! read more

they wrote online they take walkins 9:15-10:15 am. I reached there on time, and they said no they can't take me because there is just one person. if this was the case why didn't they change online. i missed my son's appointment and requested them multiple times if they can squeeze me in- I am 39 and half weeks pregnant, the minutes they spent on arguing with me could be utilised in doing some work. they work super rude and told me to go other locations and not to come here. I'm very disappointed with the girl working in frint. if they want their Saturdays to be light please change online- so that no one waste their times. read more

It's a post office so what can I say? They have a self service station to mail priority over express & I often run in & avoid the hassle of waiting in line. The parking is not great because it's on street parking & East Meadow is a pretty busy street with not a lot of ample parking. I've always been greeted by the clerk at the counter in a friendly & helpful way but I often here others complain of the lack of customer service. Let's be honest, dealing with the general public who all "need this to get there asap" is annoying & people are generally pretty dumb do I probably wouldn't be smiling too much either working for 8 hours dealing with the ignoramuses of society. I know times are rough right now but the lady behind the counter mandeep? She is just such a miserable human. I could be walking in having such an awesome day and then when I'm waiting I pray not to get her. If she hates her job that much just quit and move on with life and allow someone who is willing to work and can deal with the stress unlike this woman. Everytime I leave I leave in a bad mood because of her with the way she treats me and talks to me. She does it with others as well because as I'm standing there I'm shaking my head. I agree with you there's a couple people who are pretty good but the supervisor has an attitude problem and they always keep people waiting. They don't train people on how to do registered mail and I have to go through the hassle of having to wait and find the right person who I know knows how to do it. They always act like it's a big ordeal for them because their tape dispenser doesn't moisten the tape well enough and they especially the manager wants to use less tape. It's pretty inconsistent as to whether or not they are friendly. There's an older woman who is excellent she The manager has a chip on his shoulder. I wants snapped at me and yelled at me because I said when I asked this new African-American clerk if he knew had to do registered mail and he did not. He said no one trained him. So I said well I can't ask you to do it because he was going to put it aside to have somebody teach them later or to ask somebody to do it for him and it could've been a lost piece of mail and it was registered mail but I need it sent and he had no idea how to do it and nobody would show him so I said well I can't educate you on it they should've taught you and the manager got angry with me and started shouting at me don't you say he's not educated! Is very angry he refused to help me and meanwhile he didn't bother to train the clerk. Wasn't that his job? How could you have somebody working in the post office and not have trained them how to do registered mail? The same problem happened with the Indian woman but she had someone help her that woman who should be the manager who was there at the time helped her otherwise she would not know what to do. She was very good at it because she learned quickly.There is that older heavier woman who is excellent -the best and I don't know why she is not the manager. There is a slim guy with dreadlocks who is outstanding.. The clerks there are often slow and lines get very long and sometimes a manager doesn't want to be bothered and will not assist and they don't get other people to come to help fast enough. The manager I think is bad. And I've complained before about mail but never got delivered and they take an attitude like I can't happen. And it happens to frequently and sometimes mail is missed delivered and also the mailbox on Bruce Drive and N. Jerusalem Rd. has been rated or the person was picking it up did not deliver the mail because three times things that of been put in there by me I've never gotten to where that was supposed to go. In addition the mailboxes by the post office other ones we use now and just on Sunday night we put a birthday card in the same mailbox we always use at the post office and it should've been picked up on Monday and delivered by Tuesday or Wednesday because it was a birthday card addressed correctly to a house on Sycamore Drive in Roslyn. The birthday card never got there. I have asked to be notified when it comes. Each day I have been told it has not arrived it is now already Friday night they still did not get the card that was mailed on Sunday night. I'm assuming somebody in the post office stole it. They must've thought that was a gift inside or they didn't want to deliver in the rain I don't know which it was but it was never delivered and I spent a lot of money on the card and we put a lot of time into picking it out and there was nothing inside the card other than our best wishes to a very sick man who should have received the card. It is the poor quality of the post office and the fact that they don't listen to the customer. What I'm concerned about is mail that is mailed at the post office right in the boxes out front I supposed to be safest versus the mailbox on the corner. Email put in the mailbox at Bruce Drive and north to some road has not gotten to where it was supposed to go this is happened three times already and I've complained about it and it makes no difference to the post office. A birthday card mailed at the post office in the second mailbox the one we always use there never got to his destination it was put in there on Sunday evening it should've been picked up on Monday morning and it should've been delivered it was to an address on Sycamore Drive in Roslyn and that is certainly not far it had a stamp on it it was correctly addressed with the return address and it never got there!!! read more

Worst part about living in East Meadow is going to this post office. These folks just don't have a clue! Forget about getting service with a smile, that would mean doing two things at the same time. Every month I have to pick up my meds here and every month it's the same dreadful attitude. always an issue at this post office. made a complaint once about an always rude worker, which apparently pissed off the even ruder overweight postal worker woman who maybe runs the office or something because she was extremely rude to me from then on. long story short, ive been paying a certain postage to mail the products from my website, now all of a sudden today they try charging me $2 more because theyve been "doing it wrong" the whole time. i understand this isnt a desirable job but maybe some new, more friendly and helpful workers can replace some of the overworked and less helpful. i literally avoid this post office at all costs which is difficult for me and my business at times. theres only one woman there whos always polite and thats the only reason i do go when i have to. read more
