I needed to speak with a human representative and AI kept spinning in circles asking and repeating the same nonsence over and over, "I'm too new " to grasp the question asked to give an answer. the qusetion is . If a package was attempted to be delivered but no one home to sign for it . When is the earliest it can be retrieved from the Oak Street , Uniondale facility. The wosrt experience ever . Absolute disaster dealing with this UPS hub in Uniondale, NY. Package not delivered with two different attempts and marked as incorrect address when address was verified multiple times as correct. Melissa C. was my last Point of contact, failed to follow up with the package being resent to me for a 3rd attempt and package was sent back to sender. Upon speaking with her, she is extremely unprofessional, nasty and does not know how to provide customer service. She faulted every person from drivers to hub workers in not doing their jobs and then had the audacity to say to me have I never made a mistake before. Yes I have, but I take accountability for when I do which no one in the facility seems to be capable of. And told to reorder the item or speak to the seller when it gets back there and hung up on. I bought a product online and the shipper used UPS. Tracking said it was delayed three days due to a truck issue and then it arrived at the Uniondale facility where it was loaded on a truck for delivery. It did not arrive in the delivery window of 2pm to 6pm then it was updated to arrive by 7pm and when it didn't arrive by then it was updated to arrive by 9pm. At around 8pm tracking said "the receiving company was closed" and would be delivered the next day in the same timeframe. First of all, I am not a "company" and I was home at 8pm and video cameras show no UPS delivery was attempted within hours before and after 8pm. I waited for the package the next day again without it being delivered. The third day I called the main UPS number and a representative said he would investigate. A few hours later he called back and said they consider the item "lost" and the seller should file a claim. I don't see how a package gets lost AFTER it was loaded on a truck and I think more likely it was stolen. I believe the shipper used the product carton which made the contents visible to every person at UPS who handled it and perhaps someone especially a temporary worker might have taken it knowing the contents of the package. The story doesn't end there. The same day that UPS told me the package was lost, my phone got numerous texts purporting to be from UPS about rescheduling a delivery. It didn't come from a UPS phone number and the URL looked possibly bogus but I clicked on it to find where it linked to. A UPS tracking number showed up which was different than my tracking number and I looked it up on their system. It was valid tracking number for an item that was delivered months ago to and from different states than my package. At that point I blocked future texts from that phone number. Scam texts are not rare but the timing was too coincidental that these scam UPS texts came within hours of a real lost package from UPS. I think it is possible the scam texts originated from someone working at UPS who may have taken the package and tried to run an additional scam. I can't prove it but what are the odds that the first scam texts I ever got pretending to be from UPS came at the same time UPS said the package was lost? From what I read on the internet, UPS hires temp workers on short notice to do things like handle packages and load trucks. I think that is how my package disappeared. read more

Let's try having better options like FedEx for those who do not want packages sitting outside all day while they are at work. ( especially if they are expensive). Can have packages sent directly to FedEx even heavy ones at no additional charge. Ups charges to have it sent to an access center and that's only if it isn't a large item. I selected the only option which was a Saturday delivery and paid $9.99 for it only to call many times with customer service stating they would have them call back only to go on line to see they are closed. Customer service didn't know that!?. Why have an option on my choice if it's not available and to add injury to insult why have a rep confirm that Saturday is an option and it's not!. Paid extra for overnight shipping of aquarium fish. UPS is not cheap. Shipment got all the way to my nearest local Distribution Center overnight and then stopped. It was allegedly delayed due to weather, but the weather was fine. UPS could have sent it out for a later delivery that day like Amazon does, but they did not. The fish shipment was not only delayed to the next day, but did not even get delivered the next morning. Instead the livestock was delivered in the evening the next day. Requested and paid for overnight shipping service, but got two and a half day service! If your shipment is time critical, do not depend on UPS. The UPS Distribution Center permanently closed its Customer Center, so you do not have the option of going there to pickup a package that is delayed. My package sat for an extra day 30 minutes away from my home with fish that were dying without any recourse for me to take. UPS did not care. They already got my money. More evidence of decreasing UPS customer service is that New York is not alone. UPS is closing Customer Centers across the entire country. Really poor! read more

Ups quality of service been sucked. But the fact they are trying to deliver a package between 11:45 and 3:45 on a weekday when I have to work knowing you need a signature for the package is dumb. Then when I called to have it held at the facility in uniondale it was the most complicated process ever. The phone rep advised I had to go through the website and create a portal. I advised I don't want to because I don't use you. After being advised this was the only way. I created a profile just to have them hold the package only for the system to tell me it's a 5.99 charge and i need to verify myself. I want able to verify myself because they system could not differentiate the difference between me and my father who had the same name. After being denied access because the system is asking questions the pertaining to my father and not me I then called the rep a 3rd time who then Said tmobile had to contact them to request a hold becaus3 it take 24-48hrs for the mychoice system to allow changes. I then called tmobile who advised that wasn't the case. So now I either have to take a day off from work or miss the phone entirely. This whole process has been nasty. I came from over an hour away to get there as soon as they opened because I had a wedding that day out east on the island and my dress was stuck at their center due to rain/travel issues. I thought I'd have no dress for this wedding, but as soon as I got there, Phil and Jim went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure they found the package with the dress I ordered. Coming to this UPS Customer Center means you are entering one of Dante's Circles of Hell for sure. It is a huge complex with big brown UPS trucks and trailers lumbering along while customers' cars try to figure out how to get in and where the hell to go to find the "customer service" entrance. Don't get me wrong - UPS delivery is usually 5 stars where I live, but on the occasion when I order items that require an adult signature it becomes an issue. I believe that UPS overlords (management) probably implant GPS units under the skin of these diligent drivers to track and time every single move they make so I can't blame the guy for attempting to deliver at 4:50pm when I had a shipping note on the label to deliver after 5pm if possible. It's just that those 10 minutes certainly made my life hell that night. It was cool after I changed the delivery to will call that I received a call on my cell to tell me that despite the app saying the center is closed at 6pm, that they reopen from 7pm to 9pm and my packages will be available after 8pm. Score! After driving around the area outside the UPS complex for 10 minutes looking for where customers are supposed to enter I finally go inside a lot where all passenger cars are parked and see a faded sign pointing to "Customer Service 7pm-9pm Parking". I manage to grab a surprisingly hard to find spot and walk into a guard room with rejected TSA antique metal detectors and decor straight out of Barney Miller. One of the guards asks me my address and directs me to stand out of the way along with the other unfortunate customers that missed their deliveries. Waiting for 20 minutes and I see some of the people here before me getting upset because no one is telling us what is going on - what are we waiting for? Where are our packages?.. grumble.. grumble.. "How long are we supposed to wait here? Like we haven't worked all day ourselves and want to go home!" One guy half yelled. Luckily as tensions were getting high we finally hear over the guard's walkies talkie some addresses of packages. He calls out addresses and a guard escorts us pass the barbed wire fences. I sign for my stuff which is luckily on a long handtruck (cases of wine), but I have to lug this over curbs and other obstacles back towards my car myself - happily I didn't break anything. The guard stops me at the fence and tells me I have to leave my stuff, bring my car around and load from here. Finally loaded up I leave with my packages. It's cool that UPS accommodates their customers with extended hours, but If you actually have to come here there is an obvious disconnect between their good intentions and the poor reality. read more

Then I'm told by a manager at the Garden City Facility that they'll locate my package & drop it off. Only for them to call me back a few hours later to let me know that it was locked on a truck & not accessible. They let me know that it would be delivered on Saturday 11/24/18. They usually deliver to garage but some uneducated individual who works for UPS thought it was bright to block my entire front door. I truly wish I could give this location an even lower rating. Everyone at this location is RUDE. It's like you have to beg them to do the job that they are being paid for. With this technological age we are constantly reminded with alerts and updates on our packages. They will tell you that they don't see the update although it's clearly on your phone. Even if you ask nicely for them to track your package it's like pulling teeth and they do not try to conceal their terrible attitudes. They will huff and puff right in front of you as if you're asking them to do something that's outside of their job description. They offer no other alternatives or resolutions to better help their customers. If you have to drive a little to another location I highly recommend it. If you have to come here grab a slice of pizza from Napolini's so it could make the experience a bit more bearable. read more

It has been rainy and stormy here on Long Island for the last 12 hours , so I posted a large note , using the clear back of a note card , on the inside of my storm window . My message , in heavy black marker , read : " Dear Driver , please put the box on Top of the bench at the Right , Under the eaves , so it don't get wet " . the words Top , Right and Under were all capitalized and underlined . Worst customer service/ delivery service I checked the status of my package to see it said "Refused Delivery" I never refused any delivery nor did a UPS driver come to my home. i contacted UPS customer service and they said they can't do anything to contact the shipper. I do not think that I have ever updated a review in the reverse. Meaning that It went from as bad as it can get to almost well in mine and Ray's case as best as it can get. Maybe he is counting on the fact that he sees I am using UPS to bring my at home Chemo drugs to the house again so he knows I am not in remission and I may kick the bucket so he won't have to deal with me that much longer. He may be giddy with extreme pleasure. Could be because all of a sudden I do see a spring in his step. But its hard to tell with him because with or with out the mask he is still the same old mumbly RAY. Either the hub manager said something, they made him redo packing out 101 again or he is just being more cautious now that we all have RING Doorbells that watch and tape everything he does therefore it now can be brought to Uniondale and its no longer my word against his. I once in a while even like to freak him out and when he rings the bell say hey RAY how you doin' as he is walking away. NEVER GET A RESPONSE but my husband says when he has to go change his shorts in the back of the truck that is response enought that he heard me and my message is loud and clear. So I plan on sticking around a bit longer Ray don't you worry . But I do appreciate the effort on your part of the ringing of the door bell, the side door delivery which I know is several feet farther to go up the driveway vs to the front door and of course the hot tar in the summer vs the cement , and neatly putting my cartons to the side of my door instead of on my side step so that I can't possibly get out unless I either go out the front door and around to the side to remove the carton or if I slowly push it out of the way with the side door. read more
