Well, that was easy. This UPS store is a full service store for mail and alternative shipping methods. I usually bring my completed packages there for them to send via UPS. Not a lot of activity but I will say that they are a great team here and the nicest people always willing to help. They greet me with a smile and are pleasant until the end of the transactions. They are always attentive to what I am doing and and happy to tell me if there is a better or less expensive way to proceed. The key word here is that they are helpful and that is what this business is all about. I like this establishment and hope that more people would use some of their many services including a USPS mail drop off point. There is definitely value for your dollar here. Yelp has been "nudging" me to write a review about the UPS store in Garden City. My system for shipping anything always involves coffee. I'll ship out a package, get coffee close by and be on my way. The UPS store in Garden City covers all bets. I walked in over the summer in the pouring rain. I also forgot my mask! I walk in, the young man behind the counter was polite and asked if I could please wear a mask inside the store. Not a problem. I gave him my package with a pre paid label, got my receipt and left. I had a horrible experience at the UPS Store Garden city. I wanted to print out something and the UPS person asked me to use a computer to print out. Then after I used the computer to print my stuff, she charged me for the computer use cost $5. I only printed 3 papers and paid $6. I asked the lady and she said because I used the computer, she charged the computer use fee. I only used for like 1 minute and paid $5. I cannot believe and I don't recommend you use printer at this UPS. The lady wasn't nice and I was really upset. It was my first time paying $6 for just printing 3 papers. 39th Ave store has become my go-to for shipping under Covid, the staff is always sharp, quick and friendly. Very professional feel, gives me high confidence that there will be no issues. I can't comment on the mailbox service or notary availability, but I've been here often for shipping or for purchase of supplies and once for fax. Amusing to see complaints that it's $3 for the first page and $1 each additional. What do you expect, prices from 20 years ago when it was just $1 a page? The employees have always been helpful and polite. One time I needed a box of kind of odd dimensions and the guy helped me to locate the perfect one that was cheaper, and a better fit, than the size I thought I would get stuck with. They also threw me a single sheet of bubble wrap on the house when that was all I needed for something I was packing myself. More often than not, there's sufficient staff to keep wait time to a minimum although last year they could have used more hands at the Christmas shipping crunch time. There is an interesting selection of greeting cards for sale here. You can enter the store from Franklin Avenue or from the rear shared parking lot. Plenty of parking. Unlike the post office, when you call the phone number for this store, it will be answered in the store, not at some central robot-operated headquarters, so you can call ahead to confirm hours, or things like whether or not they have a notary. read more

Greatly improved experience under the new management...I remember a few years ago when Amazon was just getting popular a behemoth of a beast was so nasty and hateful, she refused to take the package before closing because it was too much work for her. I drove all the way over there for nothing and was flabbergasted that someone in the clock could be so miserable and just refuse to do her job. Of course I called corporate to complain and they let me know it was a franchisee and they couldn't do much but make note. Years later, I see other reviews and know I wasn't alone. How pleased am I now to feel the difference under the new management! There's still one woman who isn't that great, but the men for the most part always greet customers upon entry and at least let them know they'll be attended to shortly (one short guy also has a meh personality but two or three of the taller guys are always nice). Have policies that only benefit themselves. I have gone there to drop off many times, even emailed the shipping label at no cost. Today they said we charge for that. I explained that I previously have never been charged. The employee was arrogant and said that the store policy. I left and returned asking to see the policy in writing and both managers said it's not in writing, that's what it is. For 99c they treat customers like we owe them, the principal is that we are bringing you business, even if it's a return. The attitude cost them a customer because of how they treated me. read more

What a disaster. The worst UPS store I've ever dealt with. Shady, unprofessional and awful customer service. I have a UPS business account, but bought something at auction via Roland, who directed me to this UPS store. It took the UPS store 3 days to send me a shipping invoice, which was done via Paypal and extremely shady. Honestly, it seems like they overcharged me dramatically, but I didn't care as I assumed the service would be good. Anyway, I pay the invoice and then it takes them 5 days to ship the item. Seriously? I'm paying over $150 to ship 2 small pieces of jewelry 50 miles and the lazy, incompetents who run the store take 5 days to ship it. Now that it's shipped it's scheduled to get delivered while I'll be away, and because of the shady way they shipped I cannot contact UPS to delay delivery. And do you think the bums who work in the store answer the phone? Absolutely not. Zero customer service, even though they price gouge you. You can be certain I'll be reporting them to UPS and filing a CC dispute. Utterly garbage service. They should be out of business. read more

Sadly, we are back to the bad old days of terrible service from this store. Things were wonderful when the new owners took over, and now, twice in a month, I have package slips in my boxes, but no corresponding packages. They cannot seem to keep track of the mail. The first time, I let it go, the second time I got upset and asked for the manager to call me. It's been over a week and no call. The workers told me they have a lot of new trainees and I could not believe what I was hearing, This store is like the hated stepchild of UPS, neglected and unstaffed. I am tired of worrying about my mail. I have had so many issues over the years, late bills, homeowners insurance cancelled, packages lost, and now we are right back to the store not being able to keep track of their own package slips. read more

Worst customer service experience ever! I made an appointment online the previous day to have a few documents notarized. When I arrived and explained why I was there, I was greeted as follows: "We ain't got no notary here". I explained how I made an online appointment on the UPS website for this location, which I then was told, "Yeah, we's knows that be wrong". I asked to speak to a manager and was told to call the 1-800 number. I ended up going to a location on Jericho Tpke where the staff was much friendlier and could speak proper vernacular. There were 3 people in line and she left to go work with the other man on something he was perfectly fine doing on his own and was making him go slower so she could watch when she was his superior. He may even make a remark, perhaps even a little mocking remark (but well-meaning, I assure you) OK - so out comes the dreaded (very slightly sarcastic) remark from helpful handsome humorous Marco... and don't you know it... right there, right on time and right on target -- steps in Jessica... newer than the others, yes, but evidently as sharp as they come and a quick learner under the expert tutelage of Christina... Sure, Jessica may be newer, but no newbie is she -- and manager of the future is written all over everything she does... Yes Jessica, out of nowhere, steps right up to the plate -- just as Marco finishes his little (and truthfully, extremely dry and witty) comment... Right then and there, Jessica -- assuredly, conspiratorially, and knowingly -- looks at me: He doesn't get it... He has NO IDEA, she says. (pause. a really knowing look... then...) He's a GUY!. (I LOVE this place!) And you know what? On top of everything else there's this: This is not UPS (they get paid for my return). No, this is The UPS Store--a little franchise -basically makes 7 cents on each giant carton I bring in...but even so, these UPS Store professionals still, each time, treat me like I'm the highest paying, most worthy customer ever. And each time I leave there, much lighter due to the drop-off, true--but the real feeling is just really good. Even though it's just a few minutes- always, I feel happy on the way out... because everybody DOES know my name, and it's really a rather fun & cool & Cheers-like kind of place. Which is quite an astonishing thing for a store that basically ships- well- my return packages... (plus a million other things.) Quite amazing, I think. Even pre-ships vacation suitcase packages. Worst ups store ever! One kid was pretty much doing everything. "Manager" was just yelling at him. There was a line to the door. Most of us just had to send a return item. Spent over 40 minutes waiting on line until i had enough and walked out. At one point the manager tried to help us but walked away to argue with a person on the phone. Then she took about 10 minutes to yell at the other employee about how to use the lamination machine. read more

This was my first time at this UPS Store on Franklin Ave & will likely be my last. I was not greeted when employee saw me enter the Store. I patiently waited for his attention and then a male customer walked in after me & was greeted & given his mail. I spoke up & said that I was here first & the employee glanced over & said that I didn't see you. What? You looked right at me. When I handed this employee my Amazon return items, I inquired if they'd go out today since a UPS driver was right next to him taking packages to load onto the truck. The employee replied that it was not as it was a few minutes to closing the store & that my packages would go out tomorrow. When I asked why? He said that he have the time to enter it into the system now. Again, what? This is the lamest, laziest UPS Store that I've ever been to. Don't recommend this UPS Garden City location unless you want to be ignored & have your packages mailed whenever they feel like it. Awful experience. read more

NEW OWNERS... NEW EXPERIENCES! UPS is a sure stop on my errand day. I have always had quick, satisfactory service but I DID NOTICE a change dying my last visit! There are so many more staff! They tackled line of 5 people with expedience, efficiency and smiles. I had a particularly difficult return!
