There is a taller gentleman that has no manners and is disgusting towards most I've seen him interact with. Others tend to just have a poor disposition in general, but he makes anyone not as bad as him seem like the sweetest and kindest person to help you. Unfortunately this last experience involved me not receiving my mail after a vacation. I returned to find two hand written notes from my carrier stating that this was his new route and my mail was left for a time unreceived so they would be bringing it back to the post office and noting that my home was vacant. Nothing outwardly makes it seem as tho my home is vacant, however I did see the carrier later that day informed him people still live here and asked him to return my mail to my home. He said okay, and it never happened. Unfortunately their direct number is not listed here (631) 264-3532)), so I had to call the 800 number. Notified them and they said someone would call me later that day. Once I did get a call the following day late in the evening I explained to the female that called what happened and she again had a unpleasant disposition but assured me the next day Friday my mail would be sent. No mail Friday, no mail Saturday, and again no mail Monday! I just spoke with someone there and he was actually decent which should not have been a surprise! Hopefully when I return home my mail will be there from all this time now having to sift through a months worth. But in general even if the policy is to bring unreceived mail to the branch, after 2 direct communications it shows how they disregard all concern for their jobs and people's parcels. It's very unfortunate how the dealings of this post office are conducted and training should be put in place to avoid so many negative encounters with the people that have no choice in selecting the post office that covers their homes.

    The UPS Store

I have a small hobby business run from home, as well as a remote consulting practice. These require…read moreme to visit this store at least several times a week, on average, In doing so, I have found the three guys that run this place to exhibit, at least in my view, the ultimate in customer service. Pat, the guy that manages the store and also routinely mans the front counter, is always very upbeat and I find, extremely customer friendly. He is always willing to help those that don't understand the shipping process. There are many repeat customers that are used to bringing in different types of online sales returns, but also those that have not been there before or often and are not aware of what's involved in packing and shipping properly. Pat is always willing to help, and in that way can be very informative as well. He has in the past made labeling suggestions to me that have been very helpful. He is also the location's notary, and is quite adept at streamlining and explaining what's involved and how it works, for those coming in for that, that are unfamiliar. I find at times, in an effort to better serve their customers, when the place gets a longer line, Pat can pick up speed to look to get customers out quicker. Damian, is the epitome of calm, and exudes customer service. He will routinely go out of his way to help people, and seems to have the ability to remain calm and relaxed, no matter what is thrown at him. Quite often I have seen people come to the counter, and after waiting on line, find they can still not locate their shipping label in their phone. Despite the mounting line, where he could just as easily tell the customer to come back when they find it, he will routinely ask the person if they might allow him to help, He then, very efficiently finds the missing label, hands them back their phone, with a shipping receipt and sends them on their way. I can't think of any place I patronize where the staff might show that extra effort and courtesy. Another member of their team, Tim, I have found to be the consummate gentleman as well. He is often there late in the day, and encounters people coming in, minutes before closing, While he is cleaning up to end the day, he will stop to assist the consumer and just return to his closing activities, without rushing them. When I had started leaving this post I noticed that the rating was not as flawless as I had expected. I saw that some were not at this level. In scrolling down I found many that were a decade old and before the revision of the location's operations and the change in staff, and even some meaning to critique other UPS Store locations included here. If you have any reason to need any of their services, of which packing and shipping are just part of many, I personally suggest that you visit this location. I truly believe you will be as satisfied as I have been in the manner I have been treated. Just an aside, people have commented on the difference in pricing between the UPS website and the store counter, as well as the cost of boxes and materials. Many are not aware, each UPS Store is individually owned and incurs its own overhead and payroll costs, hence there are two distinct pricing structures set by UPS. Any consumer is able to print out their own UPS label online, even set up their own UPS account in minutes, afix the label to their own box, and drop it off at the store with no charge for the drop-off, as I do myself.

Luckily, we found Notary & Apostille Service by Alan. Their website has a very good explanation of their services, and I found the AI assistant particularly helpful in understanding the process. Sad. I see the proprietor has challenged my review and my integrity, in doing so. To this I say, Test me. Because today was THE DAY. I had returned Wednesday from Colombia on Spirit airlines, arriving to LaGuardia Airport just before midnight. The very next day, I made a booking for a return flight on Avianca for November 23. Using this reservation, I was able to secure an appointment at the New York State Department of state for an Apostille today, November 19 at 10:45 AM. In fact, I added an extra step that this gentleman would never have been able to do and that was to get an even more current birth certificate at the New York City Department of health, which is also closed to the public. However, with my savvy that he clearly does not have I again asked for an in person appointment because of my flight to Colombia, and I was granted the opportunity to come to the New York City Department of health at any time just with a simple letter asking for an emergent appointment. Again this is something that someone in his business should know about and yet he doesn't. So within the span of two hours I went from the New York City Department of health, where I had printed a brand new birth certificate, then directly to the Manhattan county clerks office which is indeed open to the public for certification of notaries. I said hello to the folks in there before heading, 20 minutes early, to my appointment for the Apostille. Hence, as described in my earlier review, I was able to get a brand new birth certificate, have it certified and then Apostilled on the same day. I don't know how long this gentleman has been in his business, but I think I am more capable than him at his own vocation with only three days experience under my belt. So I will change my review; I feel the two stars I gave him initially were way too generous so now it's one star. Anyone reading this should know that they can do this service by themselves quicker and less expensively than using any of the services offered by the supposed Apostille experts.
