Do not go here for notary services! I went here on recommendation of the Valley Stream Library. She wanted to charge me $10 to have a document signed. In NYS it's illegal to charge more than $2 to notarize a document unless it's a remote notary (which is not what this was). I mentioned to her that I was also a notary & knew the laws & regulations, so instead of doing the right thing & accepting my $2 payment, she ripped up the document, so now I have to go back home and reprint the document in hopes of finding someone today to sign it. This nonsense that she replies with on her Google & Yelp reviews about this being a service or convenience fee -- you can't charge an additional fee on a notary service! "A notary public may charge a fee of $2.00 for administering an oath or affirmation or for taking an acknowledgment or proof of execution. UNLESS OTHERWISE AUTHORIZED BY LAW, A NOTARIAL FEE MAY NOT EXCEED THIS AMOUNT." Every lawyer I've spoken to has conquered that is 100% illegal to charge additional fees. I get it, running a business is expensive and it can take years to actually turn a profit. But that's just part of owning a business. I have reported this person to the NYS department of licensing services and the Secretary of State. I also spoke to the library director who said she had no idea and will tell her staff to stop recommending this business. Being a notary is a public service and we agree to abide by certain rules & regulations. To take advantage of that role for monetary purposes is morally wrong. read more

Just rude. Completely rude with terrible customer service. Dealt with them twice for something. The first time was terrible and the second time was even worse. I dropped of a UPS package on Saturday that was a part of a real estate closing. Today I received a phone call inquiring about the package. When I followed up with the woman from VS Print and Ship she said, "The package is still here". When I inquired as to how a packaged that I shipped on Saturday morning wasn't picked up by UPS in the afternoon the same woman said, "we just leave the packages in the backroom from UPS to pick up. It's not up to us to be sure that he gets everything." I thought perhaps I had heard her wrong so I asked her to repeat that, and she did. So a package that was supposed to be in the hands of a title company today (risking a possible rate lock expiration) is not reaching them until tomorrow. The worst part of it all was when I complained that this service was unacceptable, she asked me, "what would you like me to do". Unbelieveable!!!! Like other posters, I am also familiar with the illegal and unethical overcharging for notarization at this location. My Dad was charged 3X the legal fee for a notary signature. And please don't reply that this is your "convenience fee". I am an attorney and notary too and legally couldn't notarize my own Dad's signature. I know what you did violated your oath and the law and I reported you. Now that I see you have done it again I will report you to the State again. Consumers please do not patronize this business ! This is a well needed gem in the area. They have all the business services needed. The person that works there is an absolute delight and so helpful. The offer all kinds of business services and provide the convenience of not having to stand in line at the post office. The also ship through fed ex and dhl. Maybe ups but I didn't ask.
