A hidden charm! Went here about a month ago and the food was prepared very well. A nice quality steak cooked perfectly medium rare. Restaurant provides generous servings. My recommendation: try the staple Scandinavian dishes! If my filet was as delicious as it was, I imagine the Scandinavian dishes are even better. I had the Spanakopita to start (filling but not heavy) and for my entree, the prime filet mignon (tender and juicy). For dessert, the pistachio ricotta cake (not my favorite). Majid (or Majeed) was my server and very pleasant. The restaurant was mostly quiet and definitely charming. I was able to study and have a lovely dinner. Parking was a private small strip mall lot.

Lovely time celebrating Valentine's here. The restaurant is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated with a warm and cozy vibe. We were seated as soon as we walked in. Our French Onion soup was flavorful, along with the shoestring French fries. We shared the Swedish Meatballs with mashed potatoes and the Chicken Schnitzel that was accompanied with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Overall it was a sweet and warm experience.

What a delightful little surprise. Tucked away in a strip mall deep in the Bel Air hills, this gem is an abundance of charm and hospitality. Parking out front is easy and free. Inside, mood lighting, beautiful tapestries, and natural wood make for an inviting and interesting aura. Not like anything else I've seen in LA. The menu is unique and quality - all rave reviews for the spinach dip, salmon, and lamb. Fun selection of imported wine and beer. We skipped dessert because we were full, but multiple great options! Will go back, maybe for a date or special occasion.

This is a hidden gem in the hills of Bel Air. It's a lovely trek up to their location, in an unsuspecting area but they have something special here. Everything about my experience was above 5 stars! The staff, the chef, the food, the ambiance- it all gels into an incredible place. To my own surprise, the steak was delicious but I fell in love with that falafel salad! But the steak was great, cooked perfectly and flavored with precision and the plates ate very intentional. The only item that didn't reach this high of a level was the tiramisu cake, it wasn't what I originally wanted but it was the next best option. I wish more people would find this place, they deserve to be full everyday and now that they serve breakfast, I need to come back for a second visit!

Beautiful restaurant located directly in my neighborhood! Service here is wonderful, they are so welcoming and gracious. I absolutely love the food here, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Their salads are fresh and delicious, I really enjoyed their salmon as well as pastas. The drinks and coffee here are delicious too. Prices are fair, especially considering the quality and attention to detail. Portions are generous, and the food is brought out quickly and presented beautifully. I always love supporting a local business as hard-working as they are here, highly recommended!

What an intimate dinner! Nestled in the Bel Air hills, this locations feels isolated, but it gets busy with both locals, and those that traverse the distance. We tried the Greek Salad, the Antonia Salad, the Viking Kremet Filet, the Skadi Schnitzel, the Swedish Meatballs, the Citrus Miso Salmon, the Meaty Top Pizza, the Apple Pie, and ice creams of Affogato and Darkest Chocolate. Overall, 5 stars! Excellent ambiance, menu options, fresh ingredients, and for the most part great flavors. In terms of particular notes: I definitely enjoyed the Greek Salad over the Antonia. I'm not really a beet person, so when I say that it's decent for being beets, take that to heart. The oranges and the burrata on it were fabulous. If I could eat that Greek Salad every day, I would. The presentation was visually appealing and the dressing was perfect. Out of the entrees, we enjoyed the Viking Kremet Filet. The sauce was a bit flour-y, but there was a nice smoky depth to the meat. It wasn't as tender as filet mignon should be. The Citrus Miso Salmon was a bit on the fishy side, not too bad, though. The citrus miso was layered a bit thick, and it kind of coated the inside of my mouth, but it was nice and flavorful. The Skadi Schnitzel was a nice portion, battered and fried properly. The sauce on it was overpowering. The lemon and caper were very prominent in the sauce, and looking back, the schnitzel sauce probably would have done better with the salmon. There was also a piece of bone at the end of the schnitzel, so be warned if you try to cut through or chew that end piece. The Swedish Meatballs are not your standard fare. Strands of saffron were sprinkled on top of the meatballs. The mix of veal and bison made a fabulous meatball, and the sauce was perfect. The mashed potatoes on this dish tasted slightly different, but better, from the other plates, but maybe it was the sauce that helped. The Meaty Top pizza was good. Nothing spectacular about it, but the sauce was light and again, it had fresh ingredients. Everything we tasted had a comforting earthy essence. With desserts, the apple pie had a crust that texturally bordered on croissant level. The pie filling wasn't overly sweet and was a great wrap up to the meal. The ice creams were pretty good, however, they didn't have most of the flavors available that were on the menu. Our waitress (Hedieh, sorry if I misspelled her name) was wonderful throughout the meal and was knowledgeable about the wine options. We picked a deliciously jammy Georgian red wine. If you are going with 2 or more people, grab a bottle of wine and a few entrees and share the plates. Each one is palate pleasing unique and is good for a shared experience.

So so so so so so so good... I got the Viking Filet Mignon.... Genuinely so good. Service was kind and attentive, very beautiful, chill spot. Loved dinner and excited to try the brunch

We really enjoyed our meal. Completely off the beaten path for us, but well worth the time to come and dine here. We had the filet mignon and a pizza. The pizza has a cauliflower crust which was exactly what we were hoping for. The filet was perfectly cooked and just the right portion. We split the butter cake, which hands down was the best butter cake that we've had. I wouldn't hesitate to return here for another delicious meal.

Ava Kro is a restaurant you'll want to visit. Cozy atmosphere, delicious homemade-style food, and special Georgian wine Tamarisi. Be sure to try the filet mignon it is a must-have from the menu. Paired with a glass of Tamarisi, it makes dinner especially enjoyable. Highly recommended!

From the Georgia Couple: We've been in California for a little over a month now, and I have to say -- this has been the best food we've had since we arrived! Everything from the meal to the dessert was absolutely incredible. The food tasted so fresh and full of flavor. Now, I'm not usually a dessert person, but Mr. Amir (the owner) treated us to a complimentary slice of pecan pie, and I have to admit -- it was outstanding! As someone from the South, I know good pecan pie when I taste it, and this one was perfection. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service was top-notch, and the hospitality from Mr. Amir and his wife made the entire experience unforgettable. My wife and I will definitely be coming back for more! Thank you so much from The Shaw's ( We ate the Firecracker Wings, the Swedish Meatballs, the Miso Salmon, the Pistachio Crusted Lamb Chops w/ mint chimichurri, and the Brown Butter Ice Cream w/ Pecan Pie)

Creative and delicious Greek Sald !

I booked this reservation based on the Yelp reviews. We were here for our Valentine's Day dinner, hoping for a nice, quiet and romantic evening and we were not disappointed ! What a charming hidden gem nestled in the hills of Bel-Air. I was a little skeptical based on the location, but that went out the window as soon as we arrived. Very unassuming from the outside - but what an amazing space ! Beautiful ambiance and the staff was beyond excellent. The hostess that evening (I didn't get her name unfortunately) was absolutely spectacular and charming ! The staff was very cool and on their game that night. We had an early dinner so when we arrived we had the place to ourselves for about an hour before the dinner crowd arrived. Amazing menu selection! The BEST Greek salad EVER !!! Presentation and taste - 10/10. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the wine selection was perfect. What an amazing discovery. We live in the valley but it was absolutely worth the traffic. We will be back, definitely. Thank you for making our Valentine's Day extra special !

Love seafood and the whole works. I heard they even offer you a bib, to get messy, which I am so down for. Anyway, same thing happened at this restaurant. A confidential envelope was posted on the door and we were not able to get in. Both sides of the doors were locked. Some other mail was on the ground and 2 were inside the restaurant. I don't know what is going on with both Oliva and this Crab House restaurants? It was dark inside as I snooped to see what the place looked like, was not able to see anything, except one side of the restaurant the chairs were placed on top of the tables. Again, either they are going out of business, or sold the restaurant to someone else. We dialed their number, no answer, left a message (twice), and no one called us back! Even until today. What a shame!! Was so looking forward to it. We were there on the 7th of this month at 12 noon. My friend drove all the way from Tarzana so we could have had lunch, but both restaurants let us down..

The Seafood Ricotta Dumplings were incredible, pure comfort and indulgence, served in a rich saffron cream sauce with peas, sprouts, and scallions. The sauce alone is worth the visit. Be sure to order some Naan so you can soak up every last bit of the sauce. My husband's Horseradish-Crusted Mahi Mahi came with a luscious pineapple sauce, was packed with flavor and unbelievably delicious. For dessert, we shared the Warm French Toast. Oh, my goodness! Homemade plantain bread topped with coconut caramel, cocoa nibs, and vanilla ice cream. It was the perfect ending to an exceptional meal. Parking was without stress, it is behind the building and with validation the parking is complimentary from the restaurant. The outside courtyard looks so magical with all the lush trees and the outdoor lights, I love it! Our lecture was inside in the large room, and the seating was plentiful in a board room-like table with large comfortable chairs. To begin we were served fresh bread with whipped butter and Spinach, Kale, and Artichoke dip. Both were delicious and a good whetting to the appetite. Next came the second course, I got the House salad and oh my goodness, that salad was soooo good and a very generous portion that I honestly ended up getting full from the salad! The greens were fresh, and the mix of candied pecans, roasted beets, and goat cheese on top made for a perfect mix of flavors. Probably my very favorite salad that I've eaten in quite a while! For my main course I had ordered the Parmesan Crusted Jidori Chicken Breast which lay on a bed of steamed spinach and Mashed potatoes. I took a few bites to enjoy the fresh cooked meal and then had to have the rest boxed for lunch the next day. Then dessert came, I LOVE creme brulee and it was so light and fluffy and perfect that I ended up eating the whole thing. What was nice is the creme brulee did not feel heavy in my belly and I didn't feel weighed down despite how full I felt! Staff was really kind, they all greeted us and introduced themselves by name and they whisked in and out with our orders and with drink refills. I definitely recommend Davenport's restaurant!!! We were able to walk right in and grab a table as the afternoon rush was over. First, it is a cute restaurant with nice ambiance inside. You can also eat outside it looked like, but it was hot so that was not going to be an option. Started with the mini crab cakes and the tuna on crispy rice. The crab cakes had a good amount of crab in them, which was really nice, but they definitely tasted under seasoned. The tuna on crispy rice was great though, topped with avocado and a spicy mayo. Nice crispiness on the outside, soft rice in the middle, good flavor, just a nice bite. For entrees we tried the chimichuri steak sandwich, the French dip and the lobster roll. The lobster roll looks the part but was light on the actual lobster, in our opinions. Felt the bread to everything else ratio was really off, so it feels like mostly bread with some lobster here and there. The chimichuri steak sandwich comes with arugula, gruyere, roasted peppers and grilled shallots and was a decent bite but not overly memorable. The French dip, on the other hand, was really tasty with that au jus and melted cheese. That was the real winner. Overall, nice ambiance, drinks were decent, some misses and some hits. If you go, definitely get the French dip and the tuna of sticky rice, slip that liner roll and the mini crab cakes and up to you on the chimichuri steak sandwich.

Saturday, October 3rd…read more We arrived right on time and were promptly seated with our friends at a 4 top. The place was bustling and loud. Our waiter came over and took our drink order, Hendricks martini for wifeypie and a Grey Goose martini for moi. Our friends abstained. Our waiter brought our drinks and asked if we wanted to order. I almost laughed. On the inside I was like "Really? You just brought us two martinis, we have been at the table for maybe five minutes and you want to know if we are ready to order?" Actually, I did laugh and declined the offer. We sat for a few minutes catching up with our friends. All the while the maître d' and another gentleman were kibitzing with the person occupying a booth directly behind one of our friends. They kept coming and going, bumping into my friend's chair and talking loudly. My friend kept turning around every time they bumped into him. They would apologize and then continue with the same shit. This went on for over twenty minutes and was quite annoying. We all ordered. Wifeypie had the salmon, I had the deconstructed short rib Wellington. Our friends split the lamb chops, ordered medium, substituting french fries for the mashed potatoes. We all had salads to start. We gabbed, enjoyed our salads and dinner arrived. Wifeypie's salmon looked dry and overcooked. My short rib Wellington was described on the menu as "cabernet-braised short rib, mushrooms, puff pastry, horseradish cream." Our friend's lamb chops were clearly not medium from my vantage point and in the middle of the plate sat a big pile of mashed potatoes. We requested that the server please bring the french fries, as ordered. Wifeypie's salmon was overcooked, but she said it was ok. My Wellington was sitting in a sauce that tasted heavily of truffle oil and nothing like the dish was described. I had to ask for a steak knife as the meat was not butter tender, as a short rib should be. There was one lamb chop on my friend's plate that was almost medium, the rest were well done. The french fries showed up 15 minutes after the entrees, after we had made two requests. I ate about half my dish, it was disappointing. Wifeypie had about half of hers and our friends had two of the four chops on the plate. They did like the french fries however, when they finally arrived! Our waiter did not check on the table until we had stopped eating. At that point my friend pointed out that the chops were overcooked and the waiter actually picked up one of the chops to look at it! "Really????" I have to give credit at least on one point, they did remove the lamb chops from the bill. He asked if we wanted dessert and we all declined. We had indicated on the reservation that it was one of our birthdays. That was ignored. You be the judge. Humbly submitted, Moi
