Lovely dinner tonight at Fabrocini's, a stalwart institution in the Beverly Glen shopping center just South of Mulholland. We were greeted by an affable host, who seated us on the roomy, covered outdoor patio, which is kept a very comfortable temperature despite the current cold snap. We were tended to by a friendly and very professional pair of waiters, who quickly offered water and drink options, then crusty, fresh-baked bread that was light and pillowy inside, and just perfect for dipping into olive oil. My wife and I shared the Chopped Antipasto Salad, which included the usual Italian meats and cheeses, along with olives, tomatoes and pepperoncini. The chef did two terrific things to make this salad stand out from the 6 million or so versions you can find around town: they placed the chopped proteins and specialty veggies atop the chopped lettuce rather than blending everything together, which allows you to see everything you're getting and enjoy more of the good stuff without having to hunt for it. Also, they neatly divided the salad into 2 equal portions, serving each of us our own. The homemade Italian dressing was very flavorful, and complimented the assorted meats and cheeses very nicely. As a bonus, the salad is so big, we actually shared only 1/2, and took the other home. Our main was Chicken Marsala and a side of spaghetti with olive oil & garlic. This was an excellently prepared version of the popular dish, featuring tender chicken breast nicely layered with mushrooms and the slightly sweet, wine-infused brown sauce. The pasta was properly al dente, and the oil & garlic preparation blended well with the Marsala sauce. Again, the kitchen split the very generous portion, giving us each a satisfying meal. The attached photos are of my salad and main dish, so just know that the portions were actually double what you see. I would have liked a martini, but they have only beer and wine; however, my "ever so slight disappointment" says much more about me than the restaurant, which is a charming place with a pleasant staff serving excellent food. Recently, my wife and I dined at Fabrocini's with another couple. The quality of the food was significantly lower than the last time I ate there for lunch. We shared a Caesar salad and chicken parmesan. The salad was fine, nothing special. The breading on the chicken parmesan was soggy, and the sauce ordinary, as if it came from a can, and the chicken was tough and dry. The portions were large enough to serve two people, which made the prices reasonable. The service was still very good. read more

This place has gone down. Ordered the Belair Steak Salad and they brought the nastiest smelliest meat. 8 people at the table all agreed this was not steak. Manager/owner came over and he was rude. THIS IS STEAK! Ok well it didn't look or smell like it. Took a tiny bite and this was not beef. Dish went untouched. We paid for it of course. And will never go back. W have been eating at Fabrocini's forever and we love the outdoor patio. Waitstaff is very good and the service is quick and efficient. The ambience inside is nothing to write home about, but the patio is warm and inviting. We stopped in for lunch the other day and luckily had a reservation. Don't come without one or you will definitely have a wait. We enjoyed the Caesar salad with homemade croutons and housemade dressing. I know Mixed Green salads are usually nothing special but I really enjoyed Fabrocini's version. Fresh greens, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese are are great starter and I love the Italian dressing! Minestrone soup is always good and made with beef broth for extra flavor. My friend also enjoyed the Spaghetti with broccoli, garlic, olive oil and basil and I enjoyed the Chicken Sesame sandwich. We will definitely keep returning for more yummy lunches and dinners. read more

Great service by Tom and Juan. The food wasn't so great unfortunately. Lasagna had big thick pieces of Italian sausage, not my favorite. I didn't like the red sauce on it. Rigatoni bolognese. The owners tried to remove my review. The food is awful here, it really is. The seafood is always smelly and soggy, and the pasta is old and stale, just like the decor and the customers, along with the two out of shape owners. This place serves canola oil instead of olive oil and they don't tell their customers. You have to order the "real" olive oil only if you're in the know. What a joke hahaha. I have been going to Fabrocini's since I was a little kid. It has been the spot for me since childhood. The waiter staff has been amazing. One of my favorite food is the Chicken Milanese with the delicious Spaghetti Olive Oil and Garlic! The ambiance is amazing and always great for families and very welcoming staff and waiters. Meeting friends for dinner and conversation. Fabrocini's location on Beverly Glen worked well for us coming from different directions. While there is free parking in the lot in front of the restaurant, it is severely undersized for the number of restaurants using the lot. Parking is a challenge. We chose to sit on the patio. Usually patio dining is quieter than indoors. Not so here. When the patio tables filled, the din made conversation near impossible. My wife and i started by sharing a small Fabrocini salad ($13). It had lettuce, cubed mozzarella chunks, onion, a couple of pieces of chopped tomato, and mushroom slices. Very disappointing - meh. We each ordered the penne Diane as an entree ($39). The menu description made it sound great with Jumbo shrimp, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, olives and tomatoes, tossed with wine, garlic, parmesan cheese and penne pasta. What a disappointment! The shrimp were anything but jumbo and very bland. If you hunted, you might find some pieces of artichoke heart. It was swimming in a watery sauce that had very little flavor. I got the Fabrocini salad to go by other expecting much. I was blown away by a delicious salad, with super fresh veggies and delicious balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The host was very friendly. Consistently exceptional food. Was just there with a friend and we marveled over the house-made focaccia. The seasonal squash and pine nut soup was literally sensational--sweet spiced squash flavor with rich notes of chicken stock. Every bite revealed new depth of flavor. He had the butternut squash ravioli in a brown butter sauce--superb! I had the Lasagna with meatballs--now, lasagna is one of my favorite foods--and this was one of the best lasagnas I've ever eaten anywhere. The tomato sauce was mouth-watering. The large portion (I took half home!) had the perfect layering of pasta, cheese, meatballs and sausage. Normally I'm not a fan of sausage, but this was tender and delicious. Use to like Fabs bc close and delivery was fast. Veal was usually really good. Last night they took 75 minutes to deliver with no traffic they are 10 minutes away. The veal was so dry and over fried! Brunch can be a very essential meal. Especially when on the mend from the night before. Happened to find myself in the glen meeting up with some friends and happily stumbled upon this gem. The servers were all friendly and even let us have our pup with us on the patio. We had some champagne for the old hair of said pup, and made some split second choices on sharing a pizza. Before long we were back on the mend with a tasty pie in our bellies. My husband wanted to try some place new for his birthday so we went with Fabrocini's based off of some recommendations from friends- and it did not disappoint! Food was delicious- burrata beet salad, artichokes with the most heavenly aioli, the pizza, the lasagna, the filet of sole!! All of it was so flavorful and delicious. Aside from the food- the service was really top tier. We felt taken care of from the moment we walked in. The recommendations from our servers Tom and Claire were spot on, and they were so thoughtful in their suggestions. I suggest a reservation if you're coming during busy windows because they can get pretty busy around dinner time on weekends. Highly highly recommend! We will be back for sure! read more

Great place for classic Italian. The patio was full on a Wednesday evening- no surprise at a place with friendly service and tasty food. Burrata and beet salad was tasty and the tomato pie AMAZING. Thin crust with sauce I'm still thinking about days later. I order the spicy seafood pasta- perfectly cooked shrimp and calamari over spaghetti with a great red sauce. I was here on a Friday, 2.5.2021, during the Covid19 lockdown. i ordered the calamari & scrungilli (conch) salad. My friend had a chicken salad. I was surprised by such an ample amount of calamari & scrungilli. My friend had a lot of chicken in her salad too. A lot of the restaurants are being stingy these days, understandably so. No sure what happened here, but suspect it's a side effect of the pandemic. We came here for lunch. The staff was ok; not terrible, not the warmest - which wasn't always the case. The restaurant inside is really pretty as always, and outdoor dining is probably very nice at night. The pumpkin ravioli is delicious. However, for the main course, we had salmon. I can honestly say it was inedible. It was grilled nicely and looked pretty, but it was SO out of control fishy. This happens when the fatty acids oxidize, which happens when the fish isn't exactly fresh. When I say inedible, I literally did not eat it, which is an expensive waste. So, it was a disappointing visit, especially because that wasn't our experience in the past. Hoping they right the ship because it's a great little spot and convenient for the neighborhood, and friends/colleagues looking for a halfway spot between the westside & SFV. read more
