By far my favorite Italian spot in LA. Must gets: corn agnolotti, steak, Dover sole, artichoke salad. The fish crudo was incredible as always. Expensive but definitely worth it. You feel like you're in Italy and the service is great and so is the ambiance. Always my favorite spot for good food.

i'm not sure why i haven't written a review for this place. there's so many restaurants in the area- but of Italian- this is def top 2. my go to's are the corn anglonotti, dover sole, and artichoke salad- for a dinner of 2, i would start with those, and add another dish or 2. straight forward, consistently delicious, attentive staff, a perfectly warmed patio- i have no complaints. prices are steep but the food is delicious.

We have been eating at E. Baldi for years, and I have to say this is the finest, highest-quality Italian restaurant in Southern California. The waiter staff is professional, fully knowledgable, and has a great memory - with their guests. The food is outstanding, from the meatballs (best in the world - seriously), langoustine appetizer or dinner, the sole or Branzino is absolutely outstanding, no bones to deal with and generous portions! The sides that come with the dishes, sauteed spinach and roasted potatoes (crispy), are perfectly seasoned! E. Baldi is also a wonderful restaurant to people-watch and a Hollywood power broker hotspot! We highly recommend it and will always come back for the best Italian in Southern California. Thank you, Eduardo Baldi!

Overall: A gem of a spot that still shines bright. Great menu, detailed service and nice ambiance. A little crowded but defiantly worth making a stop in. Pricey for sure but worth it overall.

Everything was absolutely delicious! Eduardo, the owner, is always warm and welcoming--his hospitality makes every visit feel special. The timing and presentation of each dish were impeccable, and our server was attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the meal. We had a wonderful experience--our kids enjoyed it so much that they're already asking when we can come back! Every detail impressed us, from start to finish...we definitely will be back for more. though I'm pretty sure I gained five pounds! We'll definitely be recommending this gem to friends and family. 10/10 Must Have: Fried Shitake Mushrooms, Pecorino Tartufato Beef Meat Balls, Fresh Pomodoro Sauce Grilled Mediterranean Langostine Sweet Corn Agnolotti Lamb chop

A cozy yet refined dinning environment. Waiter was well versed in food suggestions. Every single dish from the starter to the desert was superb. Definitely do not miss the langoustine and the lamb chop. The seasoning was simple, but the flavor did not miss a beat. Great for family meal, date night or business occasions.

Such a nice restaurant with a comfortable outdoor patio and intimate interior. Food is really fresh and ingredients are thoughtfully put together for amazing dishes, like the "famous" chicken salad with celery and greens and fresh shredded chicken, lightly dressed was perfect and refreshing. The halibut was so fresh and flavorful The appetizer of fried calamari and shrimp was good even the next day!! And service was impeccable. A must when you're visiting LA/ Beverly Hills. A nice place to relax and enjoy a meal after a day of shopping or work!

A small restaurant with delicious food. They have wine & beer only but the pastas are authentic and delicious. There are many seafood dishes on the menu.

A really delicious dinner, although not as good as the original location in northwest Santa Monica near the PCH. That location being Giorgio Baldi. This is the Beverly Hills and smaller location. Tonight was a very tasty dinner, although for the price I would recommend going to their original location in Santa Monica. Tonight I started with the Beef Carpaccio, which was very good, although not as good as the other location. For my entrée, I chose the Veal Tortellini in Veal Broth, and it was actually very good, albeit a small portion. The Positives: the food quality and the taste are top-notch. They also have a lot of great options on the menu and our server, as well as rest of the staff we encountered, we're all very polite. I also really like the atmosphere of this place, it's classy and casual at the same time. The Negatives: it is overly pricey, I am sure due to the cost of the rent being in this part of Beverly Hills. Each of the dishes could definitely be less expensive, also the portion sizes are not very large. The Beef Carpaccio @ Giorgio Baldi is one of the best I have ever had, but this version at e Baldi wasn't nearly as delicious. The restaurant is also very small on the inside, so the tables are very close together. Conversations between tables easily overlap and moving around in the restaurant feels kind of like you're inside an airplane. Also, there is a 10% service charge on top of all bills due to it being located in Beverly Hills, which is definitely a negative. Finally parking in this area is not the easiest. We were able to find metered parking a block away, but if that's not possible your options will be valet parking for $12 or a paid lot close by. Overall a nice dinner, but I would recommend going to their original location instead.

Very mixed feelings about this restaurant, which itself is an uncomfortable mix of classic Italian almost to the point of pretentiousness with some California fusion cuisine, and of upscale aspirations with casually dressed locals seated at tables a bit too close together. The positives: some of the food is truly delicious, and the wait staff were mostly polite and friendly. The hearts of palm "fettuccine" were a delight: not a pasta at all, but hearts of palm sliced into pasta-like ribbons and dressed in a light lemon sauce. The pasta dishes are very good, a bit small for a main course but good for a second course or for sharing. Negatives: some of these could be overlooked if not for the absurdly high prices ($28 for a starter salad; $41 for a hamachi crudo starter; $53 for seared salmon; very overpriced wine list, etc). Many of the portions were small. One member of our party had the smallest branzino we'd ever seen ($53); we joked that the other half of the fish was missing. The menu is an odd mix of very classic Italian with California fusion, or Italian-Asian and Italian-Mexican fusion. The Caesar salad is made with kale (I've had a lot of bad takes on Caesar salads recently so this was a sore point). Despite having yuzu in their fusion dishes, they have no limes because...limes aren't used in Italian food. They don't have a full liquor license, only wine and two Italian beers (and no non-alcoholic beers). Our drink orders, in fact, were met with a list of things they don't have. I'd be willing to buy this all as a purist rendition of classic Italian cuisine were it not for the very non-Italian shiitake, tomatillos, jalapeños, and yuzu scattered about the menu. Also I felt rather overdressed in business casual. As others have noted, obvious locals were hanging out in T-shirts, whereas the prices, the uniformed wait staff, and the decor would all suggest a bit more formality. I'm not sure exactly what this restaurant's market is. I could get better Italian food for half the price in Westwood or WeHo. I could get better contemporary fusion cuisine all over, and with a full bar. Several reviews complain about parking. There is an inexpensive parking garage one block up on Canon.

While I am a big fan of evolved dishes that are novel and fresh, I have always loved old fashioned, genuine (as in the way they are made in the Old Country) Italian food. Il Pastaio does not disappoint in that respect. I have spent enough time all over Italy, and am part Italian myself, to judge this place a must-try in Los Angeles. We rarely venture into Beverly Hills given what used to be a difficult parking situation. Not with Il Pastaio -- there is free public garage parking almost across the street. If you visit on a Sunday afternoon, you will find a spot effortlessly and you will avoid the crowds. That said, when we arrived around 1:30, Il Pastaio was packed, inside and out. Thankfully we had a reservation and they ushered us to the perfect table, inside (where I preferred to be on a sunny, cool but windy day), next to a bright (and spotless) window. I think there are people who prefer to be on the sidewalk in BH, so they can look for the cognoscenti and affluenti, LOL, but, I don't need to do that -- seen and been seen enough in my long life! Our table was perfect. View my photos. I love the vibe inside. Again, I can happily report, Il Pastaio reminds me of all the fine, small, and exquisite restaurants I frequented in Rome, Florence, and Milan, to name the biggies. The menu is extensive, and even though I had studied it beforehand on their website, it took me at least ten minutes to narrow down all the wonderful vegetarian dishes from which to choose. My photos show which were the lucky winners. There are meat dishes in abundance but, here's the open secret, Italians themselves are not avid meat eaters and all the portions abroad are small, hence multiple courses and few people eat too much at a meal. Lunch and dinner are also leisurely over there because Europeans see a meal as an event, not a blip in their day. The service was flawless, with our Italian waiter, Filippo, treating us as if we were Re Umberto and Regina Margherita. The table was very pretty and there was bespoke olive oil and vinegar ready for dipping the homemade bread that is served steaming in a napkined basket. I could smell it through the entire meal. Even the water came from Italy. Each course we chose came to the table at the perfect temperature, beautifully plated, and the previous were whisked away efficiently as soon as we were finished, as if by magic. All in all, this is a superb Italian restaurant. Fresh and new but traditional and comforting in its familiarity. I know we will return. Molto ben fatto, Signore Drago!

My reason for the three stars was the service. We did choose a later reservation time but I wish they just didn't have the reservation if they don't want to be there late. It took 25 minutes after us sitting for a server to ask what we wanted to drink. It was not busy maybe three other tables outdoor only the inside was closed. When our waiter was at the table he was annoyed at our questions regarding the tasting menu. It really made us feel awkward and dampered our whole experience which was really unfortunate because we loved the food and it was our last night in LA. I'd say make an earlier reservation maybe to receive better service. Also the espresso martini was disappointing it had ice and was very watered down. I'll end on a positive note that the Branzino was amazing. Everything on the dish tasted fresh. The burrata was also a hit for the whole table

There are other locations but this I think was the first one and since it was the one I frequented it's the one I will miss. I have so many fond memories of this restaurant. I came here as a little girl with my family because it was casual enough for a well mannered child but fancy enough to please the adults. One time I decided to get into shape. Every time someone asked me out for lunch or dinner I said I wanted to go to Il Fornaio. I would order a bowl of the vegetable soup or vegetarian soup of the day and the Regina Salad. The salad did wild arugula, couscous, avocado, red onions, capers, raisins, and lemon oil dressing. It was a fabulous and filling meal that also kept me skinny. I could honestly eat it every day and never get bored. During Covid I came here and we ate outside on the sidewalk. We enjoyed watching the pedestrian scene and "staying safe" while being able to eat out again. I really missed going out and I felt comfortable here which was important during Covid time. Every Halloween Il Fornaio would have 1/2 price pizza. My family made a tradition to order it. I LOVED this tradition and I'm going to miss it this Halloween. Their pizza was delicious. One time I came here with a boyfriend because they had a cooking class in the back. They had a huge entertainment room in the back of the restaurant. I wish I had a chance to have a special event here to rent it out. We had so much fun as we watched the chef talk about how to prepare each dish and what was even better is that we got to taste it in the end. We ate seabass with golden raisins, baked pasta with eggplant, and a cannoli for dessert. They even had a party souvenir which was an Il Fornaio plate to hang on the wall. Last time I came here was on the Fourth of July last year. It was also dine-la and they had the best deal of any of the dine-la restaurants. Not all the dine-la deals are good but this one truly was one of the best in terms of value for money. It was a three course meal with the most delicious fish entree. Who doesn't love a good deal? We had a fabulous time! Lastly, in recent years they added a happy hour menu to the restaurant and it was fabulous. I did another review on that so I'll keep it short here but the food and drinks were just wonderful. I will miss the friendly waiters who have been there forever. They don't make them like that anymore. Arrivederci to a true "classic"!

The pasta was a bit salty and for some reason the fish came out way late, maybe 40 minutes later than it should've and it wasn't really spectacular. However, the ambience, the setting, and the top-notch phenomenal service is worth the experience. A bit pricey, but after all, you're dining in Beverly Hills. We were too full to take advantage of the dessert menu, but our kind excellent waiter brought us some treats, a very nice pleasing gesture. Parking is pretty cool, valet parking right next-door only $15 plus tip. We certainly will be back, thank you nice people!

Mother Wolf has been on my list for quite some time. We decided to finally dine here on our…read moredaughter's last night before she returned to college. The experience did not disappoint -- it was beautiful from beginning to end. Our extraordinary server was James. He was engaging, attentive and unpretentious. His knowledge of the menu was impressive as he explained each section and item in a simplified way. After making our choices, he suggested changing one of our pasta selections since they all had heavy sauces. We accepted his recommendation of the Spaghetti Arrabbiata, which turned out to be everyone's favorite! The tomato-based sauce was light and perfectly spicy. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING was amazing. The focaccia, oxtail meatballs and burrata with ham were a great start, showcasing the quality of the ingredients and thoughtful preparations -- they set the tone for our entire meal. The taste and texture of the freshly made pastas were unmistakable and so, so good with the wonderful sauces. The lamb chops were well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. I especially enjoyed the bed of sliced snow peas, green beans and English peas set over mint sauce. After all that, we had just enough room for shared desserts -- Budino and Tiramisu. Both were the perfect finish to a delicious meal. If you like chocolate, the Budino is for you -- rich but not overly sweet. Each yummy bite with the crumble topping was nicely balanced by the sprinkled salt. Service was impeccable and well-coordinated. We especially appreciated that dishes and utensils were changed after each course. A couple things to keep in mind: *Reservations - Via Resy. The reservation window is open 14 days at a time. *Parking - Valet is right in front. We found street parking just around the corner on Sunset (metered but free after 7pm). *Price Point - Approximately $100 per person. Mother Wolf is a cashless establishment. A 5% wellness fee is added to all checks. We will absolutely be back!
