My wife's family introduced me to this treasure of a restaurant 16 years ago, and we have been back time and time again. The servers are extremely knowledgeable and the cuisine molto authentico Italiano. Recommendations? The sweet corn agnolotti is not to be missed. Best dover sole I've ever eaten, with a delicate lemon sauce that makes the fish melt in your mouth. I never miss the minestrone soup, and also love the freshness of their salads. The pasta and pizza are both 10/10, but full transparency: I'm normally just trying a bite off someone else's plate, because I *always* order the Pan fried Dover sole al limone. For dessert, literally any choice is delicious. But my personal favorite is the Budino, which is a butterscotch rum pudding with overtones of salted caramel and sea salt. The coffee drinks are expertly crafted and make you feel like you're in Europe, and the wine and cheese selection are also absolutely top-notch. What else can be said? Some of the best food you will ever taste. Pricey, yes. But oh-so worth it. Not to be missed if you are visiting Beverly Hills. Quite simply, a 10/10 restaurant. If your kitchen closes at 3:00 PM, then 3:00 PM should not be an available reservation time on OpenTable. Baldi was the perfect follow-up to a luxurious massage at the La Prairie spa. We went for an early dinner, and everything about the experience was top notch. The food, the service, and the ambiance all delivered. This is the kind of place you take clients, family, or friends when you want to give them a high-end L.A. dining experience. We started by sharing the La Contadina chopped salad and the large ricotta with butternut squash gnocchi. The salad was not only beautiful but had great variety, with a light dressing that had a nice oregano tang. The gnocchi was a standout. Perfectly done with crispy sage, and honestly, I could have ordered a double portion and called it a night. Even with an impressive selection of beef, including American, Australian, and Japanese Wagyu, we decided to go with fish. We ordered the branzino al cartoccio and the Dover sole. The branzino was a masterpiece. Both dishes were served hot and were incredibly well prepared. To finish, we shared the chocolate cake and enjoyed a great Sauvignon Blanc throughout the meal. We have been eating at E. Baldi for years, and I have to say this is the finest, highest-quality Italian restaurant in Southern California. The waiter staff is professional, fully knowledgable, and has a great memory - with their guests. The food is outstanding, from the meatballs (best in the world - seriously), langoustine appetizer or dinner, the sole or Branzino is absolutely outstanding, no bones to deal with and generous portions! The sides that come with the dishes, sauteed spinach and roasted potatoes (crispy), are perfectly seasoned! E. Everything was amazing! Just as I remembered from so many years ago when Chef Edoardo cheffed for his father's restaurant Georgio Baldi. We arrived with a reservation, no waiting. Our server was super attentive, from start to finish. My husband and I ordered the Buratta, the polenta, and the Panzerotti to start. And then he had the Langostine and I ordered an off-the menu pasta. With the Buratta and the Panzerotti, I legit had to take a bite, and close my eyes to savor how good they were. Same with my other pasta. It was all that good. My husband and i weren't even talking during dinner, we were so mesmerized by the food! It's a lovely little candlelit place, with a sideroom that can hold a big party and a separate bar. But on this night (Valentines Day weekend), it was quite full with people waiting in a line out the door. TIP: make reservations! (Also, valet is right next door: $18.00). Nevertheless (and despite we were competing with a private room party of 50) our server was great, our food came out fast, as did our check, and we we were perfectly taken care of. A really delicious dinner, although not as good as the original location in northwest Santa Monica near the PCH. That location being Giorgio Baldi. This is the Beverly Hills and smaller location. Tonight was a very tasty dinner, although for the price I would recommend going to their original location in Santa Monica. Tonight I started with the Beef Carpaccio, which was very good, although not as good as the other location. For my entrée, I chose the Veal Tortellini in Veal Broth, and it was actually very good, albeit a small portion. The Positives: the food quality and the taste are top-notch. They also have a lot of great options on the menu and our server, as well as rest of the staff we encountered, we're all very polite. I also really like the atmosphere of this place, it's classy and casual at the same time. The Negatives: it is overly pricey, I am sure due to the cost of the rent being in this part of Beverly Hills. Each of the dishes could definitely be less expensive, also the portion sizes are not very large. The Beef Carpaccio @ Giorgio Baldi is one of the best I have ever had, but this version at e Baldi wasn't nearly as delicious. The restaurant is also very small on the inside, so the tables are very close together. Conversations between tables easily overlap and moving around in the restaurant feels kind of like you're inside an airplane. Also, there is a 10% service charge on top of all bills due to it being located in Beverly Hills, which is definitely a negative. Finally parking in this area is not the easiest. We were able to find metered parking a block away, but if that's not possible your options will be valet parking for $12 or a paid lot close by. We have been coming to E Baldi for several years. For special occasions or a date night. The food is simply superb, it's very refined northern Italian dishes with top notch products being used. We are quite surprised at the reviews with negative comments about what is served on your plates. We only have experienced 5 stars dishes. The langoustines or the veal are excellent, the notciolla crepes desert might be one of the best I have ever tried. For the rest we never had a complaint, the decor is a 4, the tables are rather close from one another but the staff is terrific, almost exclusively Italian. Very mixed feelings about this restaurant, which itself is an uncomfortable mix of classic Italian almost to the point of pretentiousness with some California fusion cuisine, and of upscale aspirations with casually dressed locals seated at tables a bit too close together. The positives: some of the food is truly delicious, and the wait staff were mostly polite and friendly. The hearts of palm "fettuccine" were a delight: not a pasta at all, but hearts of palm sliced into pasta-like ribbons and dressed in a light lemon sauce. The pasta dishes are very good, a bit small for a main course but good for a second course or for sharing. Negatives: some of these could be overlooked if not for the absurdly high prices ($28 for a starter salad; $41 for a hamachi crudo starter; $53 for seared salmon; very overpriced wine list, etc). Many of the portions were small. One member of our party had the smallest branzino we'd ever seen ($53); we joked that the other half of the fish was missing. The menu is an odd mix of very classic Italian with California fusion, or Italian-Asian and Italian-Mexican fusion. The Caesar salad is made with kale (I've had a lot of bad takes on Caesar salads recently so this was a sore point). Despite having yuzu in their fusion dishes, they have no limes because...limes aren't used in Italian food. They don't have a full liquor license, only wine and two Italian beers (and no non-alcoholic beers). Our drink orders, in fact, were met with a list of things they don't have. I'd be willing to buy this all as a purist rendition of classic Italian cuisine were it not for the very non-Italian shiitake, tomatillos, jalapeños, and yuzu scattered about the menu. Also I felt rather overdressed in business casual. As others have noted, obvious locals were hanging out in T-shirts, whereas the prices, the uniformed wait staff, and the decor would all suggest a bit more formality. I'm not sure exactly what this restaurant's market is. I could get better Italian food for half the price in Westwood or WeHo. I could get better contemporary fusion cuisine all over, and with a full bar. Several reviews complain about parking. There is an inexpensive parking garage one block up on Canon. read more

Was walking around Beverly Hills and popped in to ask if the Margherita pizza was onion garlic free. Was happy to hear it was onion garlic free (for my dietary restrictions) so went in for dinner. Definitely a fancy ambience so it is pricier. The food was alright - the pizza was a very thin crust and wish the sauce extended more into the crusts. The green beans were a nice side to have. There are over a dozen Italian restaurants within the Beverly Hills triangle. Each restaurant has its claim of fame and the tall green hedges for privacy is one of the attractive features. My usual Italian restaurant and fav is across the street, adjacent to this restaurant, but it gets so crowded and I don't have the time, patience or inclination to wait. E Baldi has been at this location for over a dozen years. Its sister location in the Pacific Palisades is where I frequent when in that area, but also a paparazzi bunker for celebrities sightings. The menu is sufficient and offers excellent selections for every dietary preference. The restaurant offers homemade organic pasta but is made elsewhere, not here. I've had the pasta many times and it's been a hit and miss. Hoping this time my odds would improve...but instead ordered the one of the featured speciality: farmers Market heirloom tomatoes, fresh burrata, micro basil sprigs and drizzled in the rich balsamic vinaigrette from Modena....simple but superbly created, delish. Initially served with the basket of bread and diced tomatoes, it seemed almost redundant to order this salad. But after tasting, your taste buds will differentiate between the regular and heirloom tomatoes. The burrata is so fresh, it's like butter with subtle creamy goodness. This salad and bread satisfied my hunger for a bit. The hostess, waiter and servers were cordial, accommodating and nice. The waiter slightly resembled a young Marlon Brando with longish locks, was professional and had a pleasant demeanor. Service was efficient and prompt. Restaurant is small inside and seating outdoor behind the green hedges is preferable. Last night we researched E Baldi's menu. It seemed to be just about right because my gf was going to buy my birthday dinner for me. We made reservations for 7.00 pm tonight (Saturday Oct 5) only to discover that the prices on the restaurant's menu was over double the price shown on their website. We spoke to the waiter who apologized by saying that the owner/chef knows about the discrepancy but will nor change the website. The website menu is 4 years old. I would not allow my girlfriend pay such exorbitant prices, even though the ambiance was great. The website menu states Dover Sole at $38.00 where in fact it's $64.00 at the restaurant. We walked out and chose another restaurant close by. The hostess and waiter were very apologetic but said the owner/chef will not update the website.
