You never mentioned not having the fluid in stock anyway. I have already taken the truck to the dealer and they said the fluid looked fine. It was actually a bit high still... the said you guys overfilled the trans and that is why it puked the fluid. The root cause ended up being the tune, which isn't something you guys had anything to do with. At the end of the day your version of events is not accurate.

My BMW 528i has been down for nearly five months. I had been to several bmw dealerships as well as a few repair shops to receive estimates to replace the starter, the fuel pump, and the battery. The dealerships quoted me between $2,800 to $3,800 while the various other shops were between $1,800 to $2,500, and that didn't even include the labor costs! Plus, none of them would allow me to purchase and provide the parts myself! Not to mention, many of them were rude and unprofessional. But then I found Autobahn Imports here on Yelp. I was contacted by Jimmi at Autobahn Imports and was given a great estimate. I had my car towed to his shop, and two days later, I was back "on the road again"! Instead, they're transparent, matter of fact, and only suggest necessary services or parts at the times when you'll need them. And both times I've been shocked at how inexpensive they are. They even jokingly asked if I wanted them to charge me more after I was so surprised. One tip is to pay in cash to avoid any card fees. I won't go to anyone else and am grateful to Yelp for helping me find them.

Saved Me Over 15K and Probably My Vanagon Too…read more I cannot recommend Bill and Affordable German Auto Repair highly enough. I own a 1984 Volkswagen Vanagon. In November 2025, I had a coolant leak repaired at another shop in Tucson. After that repair, I barely drove the van. The only time I used it was to take it for emissions testing and registration, when I noticed coolant and steam coming out of the overflow tank. I brought the van back to the same shop. First, they told me the water pump and thermostat needed replacement. After completing that work, they then informed me that the entire engine needed to be replaced due to a suspected head gasket issue. As you can imagine, I was shocked. While researching my options, I spoke with Bill. It was immediately obvious that he truly understands Vanagons and GoWesty engine conversions. He explained that if I were to install a 2.3L engine, there are several supporting components that should also be upgraded, including cooling system components and hoses. He even shared details from a recent Vanagon project he had completed. When I asked the other shop about these recommendations, they were unfamiliar with them, which raised concerns for me. At that point, I decided to have my Vanagon towed from Tucson to Affordable German Auto Repair in Phoenix for a second opinion. That decision saved me a fortune. After inspecting the van, Bill determined that I did not need a replacement engine at all. The overheating issue was actually related to the radiator cooling fan not operating correctly. Instead of selling me an unnecessary engine, he diagnosed the real problem and fixed it. He also helped rebuild my transmission while the van was there. Had I followed the original recommendation, I could have spent well over $15,000 on a new GoWesty engine and installation that wasn't even necessary. Worse yet, if the root cause hadn't been addressed, I could have ended up with the same overheating issues afterward. Bill is honest, knowledgeable, and incredibly experienced with Vanagons. Finding a mechanic who prioritizes proper diagnosis over expensive repairs is rare these days. If you own a Vanagon, VW, Audi, Porsche, or any German vehicle and want someone who will tell you the truth and fix the actual problem, Affordable German Auto Repair is the place to go.
