The best mechanics in the state.. I've been in the office when customers have come in with bad attitudes and even when the mechanics attempted to explain what was going on, the customer was like a brick wall. Just because you've had a bad experience in other shops where they screw you over, doesn't mean you have to be paranoid about any shop that you walk into. Pat Taylor is an honest mechanic who has been around for years and has a great reputation as well as his mechanic, Dave. They do their best to get your car in and out in one day and stand behind their work. They know that if they made a mistake it's up to them to take care of it. They find the best parts for your car, they will not put an aftermarket part into your vehicle without your consent. Aftermarket parts are an option because you can get them for half the price of a new part from the dealer. Bonnie - treat others the way you would like to be treated. You should know that things do come up in a business, sometimes they order a part for you but the order was messed up in the process and you might have to wait an extra day for that to be corrected, but it's not the mechanics fault. You should understand that there are a lot of people that are in charge of making a business run smoothly. What if a delivery guy is slow? or drops off the part at the wrong shop? Did you ever think about those possibilities? All I can say is that this shop is the best around, and if you don't bring your car in because of Bonnie's review, you're making a huge mistake. Jesse was amazing, fit me in when I had trouble with my 2007 Subaru. The car was making some loud noises and vibrating, was getting worse. Took it to a dealer just a month before and they checked it out and it was "fine." Then it got worse. Jesse is an expert in working on Subaru's and found the problem right away and fixed it at a very reasonable price. He went over my past service records first to see what had been done on the car. I had another service shop charge me for a "very dirty" transmission fluid change where that service person said it had to be done twice as it was so dirty and had never been cleaned. I had told that other service guy I had it cleaned before at a dealer. Jesse caught this immediately in my records and stated Subaru transmission fluid is just much darker than most. I live in Truckee and come all the way down to have Jesse work on my car. As a woman, I worry I am getting cheated by other mechanics. Jesse is honest and straight forward. He explained everything to me, showed me the defective parts and the finished work. Very professional. I won't go anywhere else to get my car serviced. read more

I'm young and a female, so I've had a ton of places try to take advantage of me. You know... oil change places telling me that I had to replace my breaks or I wouldn't even make it home... that sort of thing. So I am VERY happy to have found a place I can trust. AutoTec came recommended to me by a family member who has been using them for years. I've don't leave feeling like I've been over charged, I mean no one like paying for their car to be fixed, but they are very competitive as far as pricing goes. Plus they've let me take it to another specialty shop to fix the problem they diagnosed without charging me any fee for the diagnostic. The one time I was getting frustrated about a check engine light that kept coming back, Pat (the owner) got right on the phone and explained the situation, he then didn't charge me for the check later that day, and told me exactly what parts to buy so my dad could fix some of it and save me money. I'm very impressed by my experience today! After disassembling my twisted seat belt and realizing I had no idea how to fix it, I called Auto-Tec in a panic! I had 4 kids to pick up at 3 different schools and needed my seat belt to work properly! Jesse was so kind on the phone and told me to come right down. I rushed out the door and arrived at the shop to find Jesse smiling and waving me over. He immediately started helping me and trying to figure out how to fix this problem I had created. He fixed my seat belt in just minutes and I was sent on my way. I'm very impressed by this shop owner and just how helpful he was in my time of need. Prior to calling Auto-Tec, I spent over an hour on the phone with numerous Chrysler dealerships in the area, only to be told the next appointment was weeks out. Will tell you if they can fix it, if its worth it, very knowledgeable on all vehicles and will guide you to the best solution. Jesse Harris and his team are as good as it gets! Why one might ask. Briefly, I have been taking my car to Auto Tec for over a year now. I have two vehicles, a Trail Blazer and an Avalon. There has never been a problem Jesse and his team could not diagnose, provide options because as every one knows sometimes the budget doesn't allow me to fix everything all at once. Jesse's attention to detail, service, and cost he charges are better than you get from the other guys, especially I am referring to dealerships that take your money and two weeks later something else needs fixing. I love Jesse, Randi and the entire service team. They are experts and can fix problems regardless of the make or model. They do it cheerfully and at a cost that other service centers cannot match. I don't know what "Bonnie C.'s" problem is, but we have been taking our cars (1998 Infiniti QX4, 1997 Mustang GT, 2007 Hyundai Accent, 2004 Nissan Xterra) here for several years with great, honest service, much less than what the dealer would charge, usually half as much. Bonnie C.'s review was referring to the previous owner (but I still completely disagree with her review). The new owner, Jason, is very good, and Alex, who answers the phone and schedules appointments, is also great. Both are very knowledgeable about servicing cars & trucks. They do not fix diesel engines, but can refer you to 2 good nearby shops who do. Overall our experience has been very good and we look forward to doing business with AutoTec for the foreseeable future. read more

Wow-- I've taken my Toyota (a 2000 Corolla with only 75,000 miles on it) into several repair shops the last several years-- including a Toyota dealer. Prices for work with NO guarantee of results-- and often no helpful results-- were outrageous. AND no one ever cured the cough and rattle! (Yes, I paid to "tape down my license plate" but even that didn't get rid of the noise.) I finally accepted a mechanic's word that all 2000 Toyotas sounded funny.) Then several people recommended Loomis Auto Tech. In a few hours, Auto Tech took care of several problems, including the COUGH and RATTLE at a reasonable price. The only place my family likes to take our cars. They're very helpful and honest, the guys in the shop are a joy, and the girl at the front desk, whose name I can't remember (sorry!), is lovely. I recommend them to friends all the time. It's also very female friendly, I never worry about being talked down to or being tricked into uneccesary services like I have at other shops, and for that reason alone I would give it a 5 star rating, the friendly staff is simply the cherry on top. read more

AMAZING! My brother and family were visiting from out of town when their van broke down before their long drive home on a Friday.They feared all the auto shops wouldn't be able to look at their van until Monday but Auto-tec got them in, the problem diagnosed and their van back up and running within 4 hours!! Before they sent the van home Auto-tec not only did 1 test drive, but they took it for 3 test drives to make sure they fixed the problem. Talk about thorough. read more

Whether AutoTec is working on our car or my aged pickup, we always are happy with their service. My truck air conditioning needed service which is so important as I'm a bit disabled and yet need the pickup to get food and supplies for the 2 largest in my fur family (rescue horses). A warrantied 3 year battery that Jesse installed 10 months ago suddenly went bad. Surprised him when he tested it. Still under both his and the Battery warranties , so they had to order a new one.
