I would avoid this repair shop, in late 2023 they replaced suspension parts on my car with cheap parts that are now in mid 2026 failing, they are also failing to fulfill their warranty. They replaced a wheel bearing on my Corvette that is failing after only 6,000 miles, I inquired about the part number to avoid this part as they are not willing to warranty their work, and come to find out they replaced the bearing with a cheap $50 part yet charged $543. Again, avoid getting overcharged for cheap replacement parts, and go with a shop that will keep their promise when it comes to their warranty. read more

Called to get a price on a DPF regeneration on a diesel. procedure normally takes 15 to 20 minutes and it's done by a computer and they want 6 hundred dollars to do this. They have lost me as a repeat customer. Went online to Amazon to purchase a by directional ODB2 scanner and performed by myself for $165, i'm all for paying for knowledge but at this price, they are charging $30 per minute. Do not take your car here. Took my car in for an oil change and tire rotations. My check engine light was not on prior to taking it in. Was told my light was on prior to any work being done on the car. They wanted me to pay $199 for a diagnostic that most places do for free. They also said my struts were leakng. I just paid for my service and decided to check around for pricing etc. low and behold after getting home, started the car back up again and the light is off. I feel like they were trying to get an additional $199 out me for nothing. I am taking my car elsewhere to see if any work really needs to be done it. I've been going here for oil changes for about a year now. They are super friendly, have quick service, and are fairly affordable. They do complementary inspections while they have the car for the oil change and have done a great job flagging what issues need to be addressed. I am so thankful I called John's Auto Care, it's because of whoever I spoke with on the phone that I was able to get a brand new engine under an extended warranty. Twice my car died on me saying "low oil pressure" when I hadn't driven nearly enough for my next oil change. I called Johns Auto seeing if I could get my car towed there and explained the issue. They were the only ones to ever pull up the year, make, model of my car and tell me it may be excessive oil consumption and covered by the manufacturer. Well they were right!! Honestly, I came here for a long time, but I feel like the quality and service has gone down. Maybe I've caught them on bad days, but the newer (in comparison to a few years ago) staff are not very friendly. I brought my car in for an oil change/tire rotation. Within a few days, I was driving home from a late night concert and unfortunately got a flat tire. I went to go change it and learned that my lug nut was completely stripped/re-threaded. I needed additional tools outside of what I had to remove my flat tire, at 1 AM. I've changed my tire multiple times. I've given myself a tire rotation. This should not have happened. I called and they asked me to bring my car in so they could physically understand what I was talking about. This appointment didn't go through, on my end. I'm not sure how they would've handled it. Since then, I have gotten a new car, and I have not considered coming back to John's for my maintenance. As well, when I brought my car in, it was about 120,000 miles, they told me that I needed to replace my serpentine belt. But I have an invoice showing that I literally just replaced it with them within the year. And after inspecting my own car, my belt was in great condition. read more

I was able to give them a call first thing in the morning to drop off my car at 7am. They fixed my AC before lunch time, and they even priced me below market. In fact, they helped me prove to Honda manufacturing their AC components are crud, so the mfg company was able to fix other parts in my car free of charge. Talk about sticking it to the man! Finally got around to installing the new window motor/regulator assembly that's been sitting on my desk forever. Guess what? It wasn't even the motor/regulator assembly that was the problem. It was just a broken switch. I find it impossible to believe they did ANY diagnostic on our car, and just charged us $184.00 for lies and B.S. I paid $13.44 for a new switch and the window works great. They were going to charge me $1700.00... Steer clear of this place; they are liars and thieves. read more

First visit to John's Auto Care and will undoubtedly return. I was looking for auto maintenance that was trustworthy, better priced than the dealer and more respectful of my time. I found all three so far. I received a mail coupon for $45 for a full synthetic oil change for my hybrid, which included a tire rotation for no additional charge. A good deal! I made an appointment for a little over a week in advance, I was greeted and logged in promptly and my car was in the bay 5 minutes later. I was promised an hour and it was done in 58 minutes. I waited in the small (2 chairs) but comfortable and clean office area. Staff was friendly (and to everyone that called on the phone while I was there). I hope my car doesn't need anything more than routine maintenance but I know where I will go for that as well as more major repairs. read more

Discovered Johns Auto Care from a postcard advertisement in our local community. Since I am a nearby resident, it's great to have a reliable shop nearby. The fact that they remain booked and busy is good proof that they are doing something right. Had an oil change on my truck and my interaction with service staff were 2nd to none. Now that my vehicles are out of warranty, I am going to rely on these guys for my repairs and maintenance. The Good: They repaired my vehicle's first issue very well, Jordan was beyond professional, and I felt that I received a great experience from the onset. This is what had me come back for a second service to have the rear brakes serviced. The Bad: Sean's condescending attitude was palpable from the moment I spoke with him. Not friendly, seems too busy to be bothered and in general was not willing to listen to anything other than his own opinion. When the brakes started squeaking on my vehicle less than a week later, he told me to "drive it around and do some emergency stops, and if it continued to make noise bring it in the following week." We bring it in and he refuses to watch a video I recorded of the sound, as I thought it would help them diagnosis the issue. Instead he proceeds to argue with me for 10 minutes as to why he can't watch a 20 second video. Seriously. OK, so then we decide that I will leave the vehicle with them so they can inspect the work and try to diagnose the issue. He calls me the next day saying they were finally able to reproduce the sound but can't confirm it was the brakes, and says it might be a wheel bearing and that it is not coming from the rear brakes. He stated they took apart the rear brakes and inspected to found that everything is in order. Essentially they couldn't diagnosis the work they did was faulty. I am not surprised by this, and why would they admit to not doing the job correctly. Ultimately I took the car to the dealer where they very quickly diagnosed that the technician at John's auto care installed the right rear brake pad and calipers incorrectly and pad was engaged the ENTIRE TIME, which is why the squeaking sound was happening.What a waste of time, money, effort and most importantly Sean thinks he is the gift to the automotive world. The pictures attached show the brake pad was installed incorrectly based on the indentations, the pad wear and the polish on the rotor. I will not take my business here ever again and will tell anyone who asks about a repair shop to avoid John's Auto, unless they work with Jordan. BTW, $656 wasted because someone's ego was to sensitive to do the right thing. read more

Fairly new to Roseville, I needed to find a mechanic. I got a flyer in the mail for John's which included a free brake inspection. I knew my issue was the brakes so I took it in. They were friendly, accommodating and most importantly honest! The repair was reasonably priced. Kenny particularly was friendly and said to me "it isn't a safety issue.." giving me the option to do certain work or not! Not just wanting money. It was easy to get an appointment online -which was great because I was highly stressed over my car shutting down at an intersection. When I arrived with my car on a tow truck, they were light hearted and made sure I was laughing by the time I left. I received a call regarding what was going on with my car at 8am the next morning, and they explained what they found at that point. It wasn't some crazy expensive thing either. I felt discriminated against during our conversation. I have mental health disabilities, and all I wanted was assistance in getting a price for service on my mother's car. I don't understand why he would turn away business in such a disrespectful manner. When I expressed my frustration, he asked why I would want them to work on my car at all. I told him I wanted to speak with the owner, and he said I could talk to his manager, Baker, on Monday, which I plan to do.This experience has left a bad impression, and I believe it reflects poorly on the business. One day in February I tried starting my car only to get on and off power. AAA jumped the car and I drove to John's Auto Care. AAA said the battery was low and the alternator was fine. John's Auto Care replaced the battery almost 2.5 years earlier. They said to leave the car with them so they could check it out. They shuttled me home. They called me a couple hours later to say they had checked the battery and my electrical system. The battery had a bad cell. The car's electrical system was fine. They sent the shuttle to pick me up. They had replaced the battery for free (The dead battery was a 36 months battery with free replacement up to 30 months). I was roughly at 29 months!! The new battery is a 4 year battery with 40 month of free replacement, though the clock starts when the previous battery was installed. John's shuttled me to and from home and replaced a battery of shorter duration with one of longer duration for no cost to me. They were prompt, polite and professional! I am very appreciative of them and would certainly take my car back to them!! read more

I initially posted a review of this business in haste. Emotions were high, I'll admit that. A cooler head came about and I removed that initial review. Now after FINALLY receiving my vehicle back I can think clearly: my vehicle was brought to this location on 6/16 with the assurance that it would be done the following Monday, 6/19. Monday came around & we were informed that it was not ready but would be ready Tuesday. Tuesday came & the car wasn't ready. Wednesday came & we were told we could come get the car. On our way there we were informed of an issue that arose & we couldn't get our car. Naturally I'm upset and when I expressed that frustration I was met with rudeness from one of the employees. Strike 1. Strike 2 is getting to the shop & being met with excuses. However we are assured that what went wrong was a "small fix". Now hearing this I assume I will get my car back Thursday. Did I? Nope. In fact I got my car back yesterday 6/27. During the duration of my car being there one of the employees made a mistake which caused the shop to have to repair timing belts etc. This was done at their expense & it should be THEIR expense. When my husband went to get our vehicle he was gaslit into believing that this shop had done US a favor by replacing & paying for the fix that THEIR EMPLOYEE created. Amongst all of the problems this shop created THIS is the most maddening. First of all, what is NOT going to happen is this shop & their employees thinking they can piss on someone & tell them it's raining. Play these games with literally any other customer you want to. It's not happening to me. I WILL have an opinion on it & I WILL let other people in this community know NOT to use this business. The final strike is this place requesting that my husband ask me to remove a review, essentially requesting that he silence me & making it appear that the 5 year warranty they have on the parts they had to replace, again, due to THEIR failure to reign in the employee that caused the mess, was contingent on my removing my review. BIG MISTAKE. HUGE. A little accountability goes a long way, & unfortunately that did not happen. To the owner of this business: do better. Update: after receiving my car back yesterday, it's now leaking oil. Stay tuned for more updates on this saga. Update #2: I spoke with a Sean on the phone today, this is the same man that was so unbelievably rude to me in person and nothing has changed. The way this "man" speaks to women is deplorable. We used to do business with Johns Auto Care years ago when they were under different ownership. They used to be very reasonable and we felt we could trust them. Recently we took our Expedition in to have the fuel pump replaced. It cost $169 for a diagnostic even though we already had it diagnosed at Auto Zone. They wanted to charge us $1800 to replace the fuel pump, which we thought was really high. So we got a few more quotes, all of which were nearly half the price. We went to GM Repair Center and had it done for half the price and with no diagnostic fee. read more

Brought my Honda Civic in for the 100,000 mile maintenance. Overall the service was okay and I am guessing the labor cost were probably about average although seemed a bit high considering the small amount they actually did. Either way, the real deal breaker for me was how I was treated by the counter service advisor. I found his demeanor to be quite condescending. Of course, I have no idea what goes into a 100000 mile check up, but every time I asked, Jonathan acted as if I should know. While he was explaining it to me, another counter person handed me a slip showing a breakdown of services. Instead of going over that list with me, Jonathon just verbally kept going over his list. When I asked whether the oil change was included, as on the written list, Jonathan said to me "As I have told you 6 times, No." Every time I asked a question, I got an annoyed unclear answer. I left feeling as if the game plan with Jonathan was to badger the customer until they just agree with whatever he tells you. A very unpleasant experience. Pick up was no better. Same annoyed answers to all my questions and I did not even get to SEE the break down of actual services until AFTER i paid. End result...despite having our 3 cars all services here it the past, I will not be returning to John's Auto Care. read more

I had a appointment to get my oil changed and tire rotation for my Sonata. Jordan helped me and did a excellent job. I mentioned that my brake and tail lights were out. He looked into it and replaced both bulbs for $10, no labor charges. I walked out with a oil change, tire rotation (coupon) and new bulbs for $48! I've had my truck serviced there as well.
