When I moved to Rocklin five years ago I noticed that Golden Eagle was always busy, a sign that customers were happy, but I assumed an appointment was needed. When the hydraulic lift stopped working on a trip to Laguna Beach recently, the car needed attention. At Golden Eagle, Rob looked at the trunk, researched/ordered parts and kept in touch about the installation. The car also needed a minor service, and the total cost was less than quoted. This place is great!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. We got a quote from somewhere else where they were going to charge $300 to change out our coolant reservoir, $150 for labor (mind you they got back to us 3 hours later). This place did it...for free!!!! Under 10 minutes it took them. We already had the new piece and coolant. Our car overheated in Auburn and NONE of the shops we called would help us out!!! Thankfully the car still started, we left it overnight, and drove it over to Golden Eagle. Even over the phone they were nice! Completely different experience than the other 10+ shops we called in Auburn. It felt SO nice to leave a mechanic shop to not have that ripped off feeling!!! Can't believe the other place, SpeeDees, wanted to charge $150 for labor!!! This place saved our butts and hundreds of dollars. We tried to give them some sort of payment, but they would not accept. Trustworthy and honest people run this business!! Would love to give them our money if we ever have any issues with our cars. I took my aging 2000 Chevy Tahoe here because I was hearing a noise that I thought might be the wheel bearings, and I was also having braking issues despite having just replaced the pads. These guys recommended replacing the wheel bearings because they definitely needed it, and also recommended redoing the brakes, including the rotor, which I had neglected. While I could have done that part myself, I let them do it all for me, and they did a great job. The noises from the wheels disappeared and my braking returned to normal. The last noise they found was from my transmission, which they said didn't need to be done right away. They gave me the type of transmission and said it'd be a lot cheaper for me to go find a rebuilt one on my own and then have them install it when I'm ready. Doing that will save me about $1500, so I'm down. Anyway, they did a great job and didn't try to upsell me on anything. For future work I can't do myself (or won't because it'll take me all day), I'll be taking it to these guys. Thank you, Rob and Mark! You guys are awesome! read more

This place was recommended to me by my sister, who has many connections throughout the Loomis community. I ran over some junk on the freeway that apparently fell off someone's vehicle. It damaged the skid plate of my 2012 Honda Civic to the point that it was dragging on the ground. I was able to temporarily patch it up enough to drive a few miles, but knew it'd have to be replaced (or at least repaired significantly better). Rob was able to get me right in and put my car on the lift so we could get a better look at the problem. Yes, I said "we"... unlike other shops who won't let you in the shop area for supposedly liability reasons, Rob had no problem letting me look over his shoulder while he accessed the problem and repaired it. I know some customers can be a pain in the butt and/or get in the way - but I do appreciate the transparency here. We discussed a few different options and settled on simply patching things up - replaced a plastic push rivet, secured the side with a couple of tie wraps... pulled on it in different places to make sure things were secure, and that was it. A common sense repair. This particular part is under the vehicle and gets beat up all the time. That's it's job in life. It doesn't have to look pretty because no one can see it. The dealer probably would have replaced the whole thing and given me a pretty big bill. Rob charged me... nothing. Rob knows how to thrive in a small community like Loomis where word gets around fast. I see a one star review here where the customer "saw how messy the shop was and left"... umm... it's a busy shop, dude - and they're doing a lot in a small space. It's not an operating room. Your loss. I didn't think it was overly messy anyway, but whatever. read more

Check engine light was on and I already had the codes for what was wrong with my car. However, the codes were vague. Initially I asked my dealer about the check engine light and they gave me a $700 minimum estimate and a 2 day timeframe just to figure out what was wrong with my car. I know for certain that was inaccurate. Took my car to Golden Eagle and they immediately knew what was wrong with my car and how to fix it! They told me which part I needed, so I retrieved the part and they fixed the problem promptly! The owner's nephew even topped off my windshield wiper fluid just because he noticed it was low. Everyone here was very attentive and fair. They don't make you feel bad or dumb for not knowing what is going on with your car! Definitely would recommend and I'm glad I found a shop I feel I can trust! read more

My wife and i went to Folsom Lake to catch the lupine super bloom. Well, there were a lot of people and the normal parking lots were full, and we were directed to drive down to the unpaved road to park down in the sandy area. well, there were no direction and i had no idea what was i doing. the road i drove on became rougher and rougher, and all of a sudden it got stuck on top of some protruding rock... i tried reverse and forward and back and finally, my car got free and i managed to find a parking area in the sandy area, and went on to see the lupine with my wife... well, it was a long walk and we gave up not seeing the best part (so yeah, not worth it). Long story short, when i drove my car back uphill, the park ranger took a look at my car and he said there's some soft plastic part dragging at the bottom of my car. looks like some screw came loose(likely during the rock incident) and the plastic cover protecting the bottom of the car/engine came loose and dragging on the road and making a loud noise as i go. Well, even though the ranger said it shouldn't affect the how the car drives, but i don't think i wanna drive like this all the way back to San Francisco. So I started looking for a list of mechanics that are still open (it was 3:30pm Saturday afternoon), and finally found Golden Eagle Automotive. Rob answered the phone and after he heard me describe what happened, he immediately asked me to go to his shop and told me that he's gonna fix it for me. So we drove the car there in 15 minutes while dragging the plastic. the shop isn't as pretty/big as i'm used to in the big cities, with several cars already being serviced in their garages. But Rob asked me to drive the car to the front and had one of his mechanics to start looking at it immediately. Turned out the plastic thing was badly damaged, and he helped me to take that whole thing off, and assured me that cars don't need that part as its main purpose is just prevent water from getting in which might make the timing belt get noisy. He said he took that part off of his car because it would help the engine cool down faster. Anyway, not only the mechanic helped me fixed the issue, he also helped me checked the tires, added some air, checked the oils, and told me there might be some hissing sound from the AC area (might also be because from the impact earlier), but nothing huge. so I'll probably go check out once i get back to SF. Rob the manager didn't just stand around either, he was busy chatting me keeping me company, and also told me the battery seems shot and i might need to replace it eventually too (they don't even do those at their shop, they were just giving me professional advice for free!) And here's the kicker, at the end, the mechanic REFUSED to take my money! I insisted giving him $40 for his troubles and he end up taking 20. So we finally went on our way and having their best wishes too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND these guys and I wish I live in this area so they can be my go to mechanics! =) read more

My Car battery had to be replaced in the middle of my trip to Lake Tahoe. I managed to buy a battery from a local automotive parts store. Unluckily, the store could not install it, but told me to go to a close-by Golden Eagle auto shop, who normally would install the battery at no cost. I was quite skeptical and was willing to pay reasonable labor cost to install the battery. To my surprise, Rob Koya (owner of the shop), immediately took up my job, and replaced the battery. He did not charge me anything. Replacing the battery in my Infinity M37 required the removal of certain panels all of which took significant amount time. Even after I offer to pay him for his labor, he refused to take any payment. I was really impressed by his gentlemanly business approach and friendly customer service. read more

Called Golden Eagle Automotive after reading their reviews and I was not disappointed. I had a standing appointment with my retail mechanic but called to see if I could get my check engine light diagnosed sooner. The gentleman who picked up the phone was cheerful and set a same day appointment. He provided me with Rob's (the owner) cell number to get a quote before I brought the car in. After briefly explaining what I thought the issue was, Rob was able to explain to me what was happening and what needed to be replaced. He was able to diagnose the vehicle quickly and ordered parts same day and offered same day service. I needed my car for the afternoon so I brought my car back next day. Rob was very kind and checked in to make sure I had a ride back home before I left my car with him. Repairs were done within a couple of hours which also included an oil change. Rob gave me a discount off the total cost which was much appreciated, although not expected. I'm so happy to have found a local mechanic who is competent, honest, kind and offers such a quick turnaround. I live in the Reno NV area and while on a trip for a funeral in Woodland CA I found myself stranded after stopping in Penryn and my starter failed. I called Rob at Golden Eagle and told him my situation and he came over to where I was stranded and tried to assist me to get it started, but it was not going to happen. He told me he would help me get a tow to his shop and get me on the road that day. He was a man of his word! Tow truck arrived in short order, got us loaded up and dropped at Rob's shop in Loomis within an hour. The new starter was waiting for our arrival and his team promptly got to work swapping it out and getting us back on the road and to our destination. I was very appreciative of Rob and his team doing all they could to help us that day. Rob even called me a couple days later to make sure my wife and I got home OK and that our car was still doing well. I can't say thank you enough to Rob and his team at Golden Eagle Automotive. My radiator blew up and Rob answered on July 4th 2020 and guided me on how to wait 3 hrs, fill w water and then drive off the freeway because I couldn't get towed because I had a packed trailer.
