In a black car with black leather interior and 100+ degree weather, it was NOT good. The other places said there was a leak, charged us to recharge the AC, but couldn't find the leak. One place even put dye in it to try to find the leak when we came back to recharge again, and still no luck in finding it. The AC worked for half a day, then it was back to blowing hot air. Nick diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and even replaced the worn-out touchscreen in the dash while he had the dash out and defogged the headlights, just so they were more efficient and safer. He was quick, transparent with pricing, and I no longer hate our vehicle. Great work and a really nice guy. Even though he was busy, he didn't rush us and took the time to talk to us. We had a check engine light go on in September. He squeezed us in for a diagnosis in late October (yes, he's that backed-up with appointments). He did a thorough check of the car (we felt it was running a bit sluggish), and found a big issue with cylinder exhaust valves, requiring a costly engine repair. He gave me an estimate to do the repair. I asked about a couple of used Subaru cars he had on the lot, and he gave his opinions and costs. I also asked about 'what if it were his car' scenario, and he said he'd repair it, since he knows our car model year is a good one. Given all that information, we decided to repair our car, hoping that he wouldn't discover anything else serious once he took the engine apart. We scheduled for the beginning of January for two weeks. Happily, he did not find anything else after examining the engine and the rest of the car. He was able to get a part custom made, and he completed the job sooner than expected (and at a lower cost than the original estimate). He also gave us a recommendation for the next set of tires (which he advised we'll need sooner rather than later). Our car is running noticeably better (no sluggishness). If only there were more mechanics with the integrity and knowledge that Steve has.
