Ok, so KC is amazing! He runs a top notch, honest business... we have an old Toyota we want to sell to cover some unexpected medical expenses. Throughout the whole process KC kept me informed step by step... he included photos and explained everything to me thoroughly! At the end I knew exactly where I stood with the condition of the car! He doesn't over charge or "create" charges! He's trustworthy, knowledgeable and treats people with dignity and respect . He's a class act! His shop will be my go-to moving forward, and I recommend him 100%! Just take your car to him and know that you'll be in good hands! It's what we all need!! read more

My project truck suddenly started dying and could not for the life of me start up even after a new battery! I called these guys at the last minute feeling totally lost. Even though they were busy, they made time to check it out asap! They let me know what they could do. They fixed the problem and communicated everything with me during the whole process. It was a positive experience with their customer service all around, I'd recommend them and will be coming back if I need anything done electronically! read more

Honest, accurate, and quick service. Highly recommend. I had a stabilitrak issue with my Tahoe for over a year. I thought I addressed it by replacing the part but it didn't remove the error. GM Specialties checked it out, asked me the right clarifying questions, and fixed it with a quick calibration - rather than replacing parts again. Saved my a ton of money. (First time customer) I found my shop of choice. read more

We've had a myriad of issues with our older Toyota RAV4 SUV that's been otherwise amazing and reliable until a few months ago. A friend referred me to GM Specialities and spoke highly of their customer service, great craftsmanship, honesty, integrity, knowledge, and efficiency. I didn't hesitate to call and had the pleasure of speaking to their general manager, KC. He was every bit as amazing as I've heard. Unlike other shops that have little to no customer service and want to get you in for a diagnostic appointment at any cost, he was gracious and kind enough to educate me on potentially preventing further damage to the vehicle. While we were hoping it was salvageable, I didn't want to do anything to possibly worsen the situation. Our car has been golden until the alternator, battery, and radiator went out back to back. We did a slightly overdue tuneup and replaced the ignition coils and spark plugs. Unfortunately, it's had a misfire issue we couldn't get to the bottom of. He instructed me to have it towed to the shop and not to drive it as we could potentially ruin the catalytic converter or engine. KC was able to get us in for an appointment the following day, and their diagnostic estimate pricing is far better than any dealer, and they do a much better job. Unfortunately, a blown head gasket was our fate, but I'm glad we finally have concrete answers so my family can move on and purchase another reliable and safe vehicle that we'll love and make memories with. It's clear the shop employees are well educated and taken care of, and I wouldn't hesitate to bring our other vehicle in any time. Great, reliable mechanics have become more and more difficult to find these days. Have faith and trust they'll do great quality, honest work, and do you right. Remember at the end of the day, life happens, and while some things are outside of our control, your best bet is to always stay on top of routine car maintenance to ensure the maximum life and safety of your vehicle. Routine oil changes and scheduled maintenance are easily forgotten, but your car and checkbook will thank you later! read more

Had a check engine light issue on my scion and despite how busy they were KC helped me out. It took him less than five minutes to fix the problem and he didn't charge me when other places would have charged me around $200 for the services provided. Thank you KC for the amazing service! read more

I had just moved to the area and had yet to find a trusted shop for my Hummer H2. I went to two other places for the same Catalectic Converter problem and then found these guys. My truck is older (2005) and not only did they fix the problem at hand they recommended a few other things above and beyond. I has hesitant at first fearing an "upsell" but they earned my trust and I did all that was recommended at can't be any happier. They were 100% honest, communicated unlike any other shop I had ever delt with and fare in price. These guys are absolute pro's and my truck now runs better than it ever has since I purchased it 10 years ago! Thank you so much to the GM Specialties entire team! read more

I normally do all my normal maintenance on my c7 at home, however I turned to kc to help me with an intermittent transmission issue when the car was cold. Kc also repaired a failed proximity sensor that created a keyless system error in the driver's information center. Kc recommended a transmission fluid and filter change to a new gm spec, as well as firmware updates to the transmission module.. 200 miles later I am happy to report my Corvette shifts like it is brand-new, and no recurring keyless system faults. Kc was in constant communication, and I appreciated how I was able to pay the invoice before I picked my car up. I highly recommend gm specialties to any corvette or gm owner.. great work! read more

These guys are Straight Shooters! From the time I walked in the building to the time I left I felt I was dealing with straight professionals. They wrote everything up told us what they were going to do and that's what was done. They advised us of other issues that we're going on and told us the level of importance that they needed to be taken care of. Thanks again KC. read more

I just can't say enough about this place! Three days after my son purchased a used car, the brakes went out. After weeks of talking to shops, being told it was a major and expensive problem, some saying they couldn't do it, K.C. insisted on finding the problem. Long story short, not only did he discover the problem, he fixed it. It wasn't what the other shops said it was. K.C. went way above and beyond fixing my son's car. He discovered that someone knew about the problem previously and even spoke to the party involved. Because of that my son not only got his car fixed and is now safe, but got a little reimbursement too! If you need a reliable, trustworthy mechanic...go see KC at GM Specialties! read more

These people are amazing! I've had an ongoing issue with my Suburban for several years that the shop I was using tried to fix three times but were unable to figure it out. I told the person at GM Specialties what was going on and he knew exactly what was wrong. I brought my car in and it was fixed the same day. The problem was solved, and for far less than I had spent trying to get it fixed elsewhere. I highly recommend this shop. read more

KC and his crew did a fantastic job for us. They had to replace all of the actuators for the HVAC system. They also performed a quick but thorough goings over and found a few semi- major issues. Most urgent was an exhaust leak found on both exhaust manifolds. They will be performing the repairs to correct this on Monday. Thanks for a good experience. read more

We were beyond impressed with the level of care and kindness we received from K.C. and the team at GM Specialties. This was our first time visiting this shop after purchasing a new diesel truck. K.C. was so nice when we called him with our issue, never made us feel like we didn't know what we were talking about, and took care of the issue promptly and even let us know that they did an hour less of labor on the truck than originally quoted and so they removed that amount from the total. We will ABSOLUTELY be back and referring all of our friends here. Thank you guys so so much! read more

We have been using GM Specialties for around 15 years. They have diagnosed and fixed issues no other place could. They have done major repairs as well as routine oil changes and just finished a huge list of wear items. This is a tow vehicle for us and they keep it in in tip top shape. I recommend this shop to all my friends or anyone needing a great mechanic. This is my 2nd review for this company, that's how much I LOVE these guys. Thanks!!! read more

My husband and I are big fans of Clark Auto Body (next door), and a few years ago, Bob suggested that my husband take his 98 Lincoln Mark VIII to GM Specialties next door. These cars are a piece of work. My husband loves his Mark and will probably drive it for the next ten years. But working on them, let alone finding parts, is an art and an experience that is probably not on the short list for most mechanics. It's like some underground cult of Lincoln owners have all the bypass rules of how to fix these things because in many cases, there are no parts available, and if there are, the cost to fix it exceeds the total worth of the car. But these cars can be fixed if you are willing to do a little research and do some things that I am pretty sure you won't find in any how-to manual. For example, if your HID headlights go bad, there is a fix that cost about $2,500 (yes, that is US $$). But there are plenty of work-arounds where you can buy a certain bulb, wire it to specs (underground, I'm sure), and whola! You just saved about $2,250. But finding a shop that will even venture into the dark world of these work-arounds is an entirely different thing. They have been helping my husband fix his Mark for quite a few years and because of their professionalism, and always willing to give it a try, they get our Toyota and F-150 now and we won't even take our cars anywhere else--not even for oil changes. And like a good contractor, there isn't anything they can't do. We just took our 2006 Toyota Solara that has 95k to get an oil change and tires rotated. I was sure it needed brakes since they are the original ones. Nope...not yet. Brakes are fine. We'll check again next time. Yeah, it's hard to find an honest mechanic. But when you do find one, you realize you don't have that dreaded awful feeling when you drop off your car. You know that whatever they say it needs, it actually needs. And I think they are more than reasonable--which probably also has to do with being in the same location for who knows how many years, and not in some Auto Mall w/super high rent. And every single one of the employees/managers are really nice and pleasant. I can't say one thing or one area that needs improvement here. read more
