We're sitting here in the sales office now waiting to sign the paperwork on our new ford fusion! This was our first major vehicle purchase so we had a lot of questions. Chris was great to work with, didn't rush us on the test drive and answered every question we had. He helped us feel confident that we were making the right choice for us, and we couldn't be happier! We'll definitely be coming back to Auto Republic in a couple of years for our second car! Thanks Chris! read more

I was recently approved for a 32000$ loan from west lake financial, I called car republic because I seen a porsche suv for 16000$ and I felt it was a good deal and I can save money, I called west lake and they told me I was approved for that vehicle also; so I called the car lot and spoke with a salesman name Chris, I told Chris I was already approved and I had the code from west lake, he told me to do their app so he can see what's on my credit, even though I was already approved with my approval letter on hand, once he heard I was black he started talking in slang saying "I'm going to be real with you, you have to many inquiries and you owe some child support idk if it will go through let me talk to my manager...I waited he never called back, west lake called me the next morning and ask was I going to make the purchase and I told them that the guy Chris said I didn't qualif, west lake replied back and said how is that if we already approved you? so I called the guy back to ask and he started talking crazy an we got into an argument and I started to go kick his ass for lying but instead I called his manager and hopefully they took care of it, if you are a person of color stay away from here and if you do go, do not deal with Chris, he is a racist and a loose cannon at the mouth and you might catch a case dealing with this guy. read more

My wife and I drove an hour and a half to come see a used Chevy Suburban and got there close to closing on Sunday. We were helped out by Chris who was very friendly and within a few minutes took us to see the car. We'd been looking for a Suburban for a few months and this was the cleanest car we'd seen yet at a competitive price. We traded in our used Civic at a great deal which really helped make things much easier on our end. Chris answered all of our questions about the vehicle and drew up paperwork very quickly and we were out of there in the fasted car buying experience I've ever had. I had the car looked at by a 3rd party afterwards and everything checks out! Very happy with our purchase and our experience with Chris. Thank you! read more

Purchased a 2010 Toyota Prius from here about a month ago. Prior to purchase the battery was replaced, however after 3 days the fuel gauge would drop from full to half tank when driving. Contacted Auto Republic where I was advised to drop off vehicle to be diagnosed. The issues has hence been fixed and have not had any issues with car. Freddy and the rest of the staff at Auto Republic were great and very attentive into making sure I had a great experience and had all my issues resolved within a timely manner. I have no complaints with my experience. Good car and great communication and assistance from this location. read more

My husband and I had an amazing experience here. Met up with sales, Chris Piper. We showed him the truck we were interested in and he took us on a test drive. After our test drive we chatted about down payment and financing. He moved us through the process quickly. So now we have a truck!!! The best part for me was catching Chris applying solutions/armor all (I think) to our truck tires. He came in and asked if we could wait another 10 minutes which we said sure. He took our truck to the gas station and filled the tank most of the way. Talk about above and beyond service. Thanks Chris!! We had the best experience. read more

My fiancé and our family had one of the greatest experiences at this dealership. We worked with a gentleman by the name of Chris who went above and beyond for us in more ways than I can count. He even cleaned up the car and detailed it himself and made sure we had a full tank before driving our new car off the lot! He took the time to get to know us and our needs and was very passionate about making sure we left happy and with a smile on our face. Thank you Chris for going above and beyond. The salesperson (Chris) was able to obtain financing that no other dealership offered. I had gotten pre-approval from USAA for a low-interest auto loan, but AR went the extra mile to get within a fraction of my USAA quote and I did not have to use a co-signer. The sale itself was quick, not like any other dealer purchase I have known or experienced. The sale was about 1 hour long; unheard of! I was also sent home with half a tank of premium gasoline; that at least $50! A beautiful and good car, even though the scratches on the paint were hidden with some kind of coating; (once I washed the car, the clear coat scratches showed up). The air conditioning broke within a couple of days of my purchase also. Plus I eventually noticed the hood was misaligned. With open arms, I was welcomed back to AR to get my car's air conditioning fixed. After I told the AR mechanic what the symptoms were he immediately knew what the problem was. The mechanic also told me that the clips for the bumper could be detached or broken due to the previous owner running into curbs or whatnot. And while I was there I asked for an estimate from the AR body shop for rubbing out the clear-coat scratches. I got a ride back after dropping off my new car, but live 25 miles away from AR and had no way to pick it up. AR ordered an UBER for me. WOW! I felt important! THAT IS THE KIND OF SERVICE YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A LEXUS OR BMW DEALERSHIP... I am impressed by the personal service I received. Once I arrived to pick up my car the AC could chill you on a hot summer day, the bumper and hood were aligned, aka the clips were replaced, PLUS the scratches were rubbed out! The body shop department just did it. In all, it was a pleasing experience to buy a car from AR. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that the clear coat scratches were hidden by some kind of oil/greasy solution and I feel like that was deceptive. Later, my mechanic checked out the car. The car is in good shape except we don't know if the oil was changed by the dealer's service department and my mechanic could not tell because this particular model car does not have a dip-stick, and It was not disclosed to me if the car was serviced. Also, the car has some rust undercarriage, BUT I expected that because I read the CARFAX report and saw that the car was originally sold back east. AR provides CARFAX reports for all of their cars and also asks customers to read and sign off that they have seen the report. That's A GREAT THING! AR has a good-sized inventory of nice cars too. I recommend buying a car from AR read more

This is my general impression after my purchase experience. I believe it is disingenuous and dishonest to advertise a vehicle's price and not disclose, verbally or otherwise, (until time of purchase - after repeatedly asking) that the ("As-is") price (undisclosed) includes a Low-Jack system and an added theft insurance policy (non-negotiable) - adding $4K to the advertised price. I'm sure I'll get a Customer Service representative responding to this post defending a position, but it's indefensible. Honestly, the sales experience was everything you'd expect from a really bad movie - the service was unprofessional and I felt manipulated and lied to - the finance manager needs a humbling refresher course in customer service. No one likes to speak with a manager who thinks and acts like they're God. If you find the right car here like I did - good for you - just know the price is not the price and the game to get to a price is not fun! Avoid if possible. read more

They deserve zero stars! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! TERRIBLE LEADERSHIP! Especially if you are out of state! There are many grey areas inside California's state tax laws regarding vehicle sales, and how they are handled by dealerships, which is why it makes auto republic shady, by telling me I have to pay Cali state taxes (instead of me paying only the sales tax in the state I live in, like every other state) because I chose to go with my own loan company instead of going with their loan company, or paying cash. The level of unprofessionalism towards me by the company's director of operations was completely uncalled for. He started the "conversation" by being very short with me, getting an attitude with me, continuously interrupting me while I tried to state my case, I had to over talk him multiple times while he insisted I knew nothing. The man was abbreviating unnecessary amounts of profanity towards me while arguing that I had little to no understanding of how laws worked. If the man had any professionalism in him, we possibly could have reached an agreement, as I was wanting him to give me a link to the state of California's tax laws on paying their state tax when buying a vehicle, using my own finance company, and hiring a transportation company to move said vehicle out of California to another state. I admit, I was wrong, I "POSSIBLY" would have been reimbursed by California for paying its state taxes after months to years of waiting, which no one should have to go through (it's the government, who's in no hurry to do anything). But then after calling around to multiple dealerships in California, I was given a resounding amount of "you do not have to pay California sales tax if you are financing with your own loan company, and hiring your own vehicle transportation company to move said purchased vehicle out of the state". Weird... Why would the director of operations take such an extreme defensive stance towards me calling them out if the "LAWS" state facts, but at the same time I do my own research and inquire from various sources around the area, including multiple forums with cited works from the state of California, say I don't owe their state's sales tax by following the necessary steps, which I was? BUYER BEWARE We worked primarily with Danny. I traveled to Auto Republic, Fullerton from Thousand Oaks, CA because I was interested in the 370Z that they had on their lot. Keep in mind, they sneakily add $2000 in fees for powder coated wheels and Lojack that they don't include in the listed purchase price of the car online. In addition, when I was leaving the car dealership and they knew I was traveling a long distance, I then realized that they had only filled the tank up half-way. That was a poor thing to do but not surprising to me now. Once I convinced them to wash the car before delivery, I was ready to sign docs and receive both keyfobs, as presented to me by Danny. When Danny presented both keyfobs, only one was operating. He stated he did not have a Keyfob battery and that I should simply replace with a new one when I got home. Long story short - A new battery was not the solution. Danny and his TEAM refused to provide a second working keyfob and finally offered to cut a check for $50 toward MY COST to get the Keyfob REPROGRAMMED to the car! And only AFTER I provided proof that l paid out of pocket $100. + Tip This IMO is just plain POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE! BUYER BEWARE read more

I spoke with Chris from Auto Republic, and he hung up on me while I was trying to discuss the 2020 Toyota Supra that has been sitting in the lot since October. This is my second inquiry, and it's frustrating to be treated this way just because he didn't like my offer. My time is just as valuable, if not more so. If you don't like what you're hearing, perhaps you should consider a different job. I'm the one paying and putting my money on the table. Good luck finding someone to buy that Supra--this is total shady business and reflects poorly on customer service! read more

Chris has good customer service and helped me with my car but I wouldn't come back to purchase a car from the company. I financed and my credit got dinged multiple times after I asked if it would just be ran once. I had to go in to get an out the door price and that should've been a red flag for me because once I purchased there was $2,000 added "optional" warranties that aren't actually optional and that you can't cancel. I wasn't fully explained the breakdown of those warranties I just got a brief description. Mainly because Chris was the only one there helping customers and there was a total of 4-5 people that came in while I was there purchasing my car. I also put a large down payment and my monthly was still pretty high so it felt useless. They are very helpful in the sense of if there's problems afterwards they'll help you out. My extended warranty wasn't activated yet so when I needed a few things done in the vehicle they did it, they also replaced a headrest that was missing and fixed the trunk door suspension. Reason for the 3 stars is mainly cuz of the warranties you can't cancel and because my car has numerous paint chips that I did not see when I purchased, I had noticed a few scratches but not to the extent to what's there and the paint warranty that you pay for is only for the handles and a part of the doors, but the paint on the car. The other 2 warranties are a LoJack and an antitheft warranty. I personally don't understand why you need them especially both together if you have full coverage. read more
