I called to find out information about a vehicle they had listed on their website. When I asked them they said everything worked and was available. Once I got there I was told the power steering was messing up and it was an As Is purchase. I drove 40 mins to look at the vehicle so I decided to look around. I found another SUV there, but it had a flat tire. I asked if I bought it would they put a new tire on, salesperson said no, they would only inflate the tire. I would have to get it fixed. I am not one to write reviews but I wanted to share my experience with auto express in hope that I could help someone else when deciding where to buy a car, which is no small feat. I first went to auto express and bought a truck about 5 weeks ago, and at first glance it seemed like a good deal, decent mileage and looked to be kept well, and the carfax didn't have anything out of the ordinary. Two days after my purchase, the engine started to sound bad and it shut off while driving. Turns out, the car had a major defect, it had been run without oil many times and therefore the engine was dead, but the dealership had filled it up with oil so the first few days the engine did not sound out of the ordinary. Two tow trucks later, I was back at the dealership and was trying to figure out what to do with the staff there, and although they were at first reluctant I talked to Simon, then Michael and Darren as well. Because of difficulties with COVID and having to shut down the dealership to clean, I was not able to get a trade in automatically. The other issue was that if they had sent the title information for the truck that was going to be under my name to the tax office already, I was going to have to wait to have the title was in my hands to trade in for another vehicle because they only sell cars "as is" so they do not have a warranty for any of their vehicles. They were able to hold that paper work and 4 weeks after the initial purchase I returned to the dealership and traded in for another car that has been working fine for a week. This is a very "no bs" dealership, the cars come as is and the have car faxes, so if you are thinking about buying from here, especially first time car owners like I was, I would just advise you to thoroughly look and comb over the car fax and know specifically what to look for before you show up at this dealership, do your homework. Although at first it was a struggle to communicate and work with the staff, it worked out in the end and they did not screw me over in the long haul. Hope my experience will help someone. read more

I made the mistake of taking delivery of a vehicle and returning it within 24 hrs to Auto Express Dallas. They had kept my driver's license and I was promised it would be mailed back to me, needless to say, they did not. I went back to the dealer to get my license and had to call the police in order to get back. The manager would only hand it over to the policeman, who simply handed it to me. Not a good experience! I went to buy my son a car. I found this place on car guru and went since they were close to where I live. It was the worst experience I have ever had buying a car. Test drove the vehicle marked down because of the check engine light. I asked if they would lower price. The sales person (they are not interested in selling) very nonchalant. Long story short it was too close to quitting time. So this person cursed me and my son. Told us we were wasting his F%&$# time. The general manager did nothing, he did not even want to hear my complaint. Don't take your hard earned money to people who could care less about the way their employees treat their customers. I was helping my nephew find a car during a time of need..and was blessed with Auto express! We arrived about 15 mins before closing and was treated with great respect and concern for our situation and needs. Told Barron (the person who jumped at the chance to assist us) what little budget we had to work with and, with no pressure, he gave us a listing of what he had in stock at our price range. Didn't try to sell us more than we could afford and gave us his expert opinion on which one to go with only when asked!! Yes, we ended up with a high mileage SUV but took it to our mechanic of choice and was told for it's age and mileage it was in really good shape. The paint still looked good, body in decent shape, interior clean, and above all the mechanics all seem to be in good working condition. My nephew is very happy with his new (to him) ride and I'm very happy we found an auto place that's there to help people get a decent car at a decent price!!! I certainly recommend Auto Express to anyone on the hunt for a decent used car on a low budget. This doesn't mean the transmission can't go out next week, but I've bought cars off the showroom floor and 3 days later I had to take it back to the dealership for that very reason, so even new cars have issues and at least when you purchase from Auto Express you know going in you're not getting a new car. Very predatory! Tried to force my brother into taking possession of a vehicle that he took to his mechanic for inspection. The mechanic had the vehicle overnight and said it would be a terrible purchase. He returned the vehicle the next morning. The car lot manager tried to hold his driver's license hostage in an attempt to force him to sign some paperwork. After a visit from the a nice police officer he was able to retrieve his license from the car lot manager. Shady business practices is an understatement. read more

Great place and great people to deal with. They have a large selection of cars at really good prices- they don't add huge profit markups to their cars. They also have cars in all conditions from really nice and like new to "mechanic specials" (cars that need repairs). I was looking for a cheap car for my kids so purchased a car that needed work - knowing that I was going to save a lot of money on a nice Beetle after I took care of the repairs. Understand this - if you are looking for a shiny dealership with a large fancy show room and tons of salespeople tripping over themselves to get to you - go someplace else. And when you do, you will pay a much higher price to get those bells and whistles. I use to get botox injections on my toes, I use to travel whenever I felt like it, I use to wakeup whenever. I use to not settle for What's on sale, I bought that expensive bath soap. Dolce gabana I had that, Chanel jeans I worked that, I was a baller a pretty damn good shot caller, now I am merely a simpleton....I work the grind, I never travel or dine....I can't even remember the last time I had a four course wine pairing menu. Damn I am lucky to get 4 things from taco bell. Anyways after the bank repoed my Mercedes-AMG GT I found a few thousand dollars in my gym bag and came down here to buy a car to get me back and fourth to my hourly job. My kids hate it, infact I don't think they even like me anymore since I no longer make 6 figs. anyways this used car lot is great, infact this is the fastest I have ever made a transaction. They shoot you straight, no games, no bullshit, they even have repeat customers. My newly purchased 97 Silverado put the Chevy to the levy rides like a dream............... Okay So I went to this dealership with a hefty amount of cash looking to drive home with a vehicle. The first thing I noticed is that 90% of these cars have SEVERE hail damage. These people are running a SCAM with these hail damage cars. Heres my experience: I found a vehicle that seemed like a decent deal, but the hail damage was very bad, so i figured i could get an extremely good deal on it. They let me take the car for a test drive, and I drove it up to an auto shop to get a quote on the hail damage and to have a look at the engine and what not. Not only did they tell me that there had been work done to the engine and they pointed out some of the parts that had been replaced (which on the website it says no accidents). Okay immediate red flag. They then went on to tell me that the hail damage was so severe that it would cost about 9k to fix. 9 THOUSAND DOLLARS. Let that sink in. So the shop told me the car is worth about 2k as is with the hail damage. This place was trying to sell the car for 5950. I get back to the dealership and begin discussing my findings with one of the sales associates. When i told him that i took the car to get it checked out and to get a quote on the hail damage he immediately looked angry and his entire demeanor changed. After telling him that i was quoted 9k for the hail damage and that we found issues not reported, he just said they aren't going to negotiate the price. So i probed further and begin talking in detail about the hail damage. listen to this, this is the best pat, HE SLIPPED UP AND TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE QUOTED 6K TO FIX THE HAIL DAMAGE. The Blue Book value was less than 10k PRISTINE and they were trying to tell me that the car is worth 6k. LOL, so lets do the math, he told me 6k in hail damage, the car is worth less than 10k. So realistically this car should be priced at 4k right? So he already knew he slipped up and immediately told me they aren't going to work with me on the price. So either i pay the full 6500 cash or no deal. I walked away, no handshake. Go ahead and go here if you want to get ripped off, you have been warned. All of these cars probably have about 8-10k worth of hail damage, good luck. read more

My husband purchased 2 lemons from this car lot a 3rd car that needs a lot of work but drives. The first car we found out it needed a whole new transmission, when we brought it back they would only take it back for half the price we paid for it. This is how we ended up with the car that need a lot of work. The 3rd car we purchased we found out has 2 transmission leaks and a head gasket problem. They suggest that we made those damages but a mechanic told us it's been like that when we got it. This dealership does not disclose all issues with their cars and refuse to help even the most loyal customers. I think it is best to inform potential buys so that this does not happen to them. Yes it is an as is purchase but all issues are supposed to be disclosed before a purchase and that is not how they do it here. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. We arrived and had to look around on our own without any assistance. After finally deciding on our own that we wanted to take a car and test drive it. When they took the car out they scratched it and gave it to us to test drive without any license plates. After we noticed the scratches we tried to negotiate a price. Very rude and unfriendly man, Michael, told us that was the price and if we liked it to take it if not to give him back the keys. We drove an hour to look at a car we saw online and when we got there it didn't even turn on. On top of people that weren't in the mood to make any sales. As we leave, we tell him he should be friendlier with customers if he wants to sell, and he tells us he has plenty of customers. Not very good salesmen. We've been to plenty of used car dealerships and none have been this unfriendly. There's a way to tell people you won't go down further on the price without being rude. read more

Needed a car for my son. Auto Express had the widest selection that we had seen and we looked at probably 6-7 cars, test drove two of them. They pulled codes on two "mechanic specials" for us and were available and helpful all the time we were there. I've seen other negative reviews, but I spoke to 5 different employees while I was there and they were all very respectful, polite, helpful and up front. On the topic of being up front - they sell cars as cash cars or mechanic specials. Most of the time that means that if there is an engine light on, they can confirm that it's on and pull a code. After that, it's on the buyer. I would expect that rather than expect them to fix the cars and then sell them to you. They are a reseller, not a mechanic's shop. The prices for those specials were adjusted and I felt like if I wanted to take the risk, it was affordable enough to do so. In my case, we ended up buying a cash car, works great, son loves it, drives well, a few minor dings and surface issues that I can take care of. We were looking on the internet for a cash SUV and noticed this SUV on carfax.com last week. The car lot was packed with many different vehicles. The SUV that we were interested in purchasing was in their garage area, behind many other SUVs and vans. Michael, the sales manager told us, "In order to test drive the vehicle, we must first leave a non-refundable deposit fee of $25.00 ; this fee will only be returned if you all make a purchase with us." My husband and I had never heard of such a fee, and we have purchased many cars before, new and used. We started to walk out that place then, but we had traveled at least 20 miles to take a look at this SUV. So, we agreed to their terms. Test drove the vehicle and it appeared to be in pretty good shape for a 2009 Buick Enclave. A week later, no only six days later, the check engine light came on. My husband took it to a local Buick dealership, and the mechanic told him, the problem was with the evaporative emission system. We know that we made a cash purchase and signed As-Is document, but for a vehicle to have a check engine light on in six days, please be warned before you buy. Michael did return the $25.00 fee after the purchase, and also gave us a full tank of gas. read more
