First off, I wouldn't give even one star if that was an option. This place is not for someone who expects a flexible or understanding business relationship during the terms of their contract. The process of buying used is usually not as upbeat as buying new and most people who go to places like this have had hardships and etc. that lead them to a second chance in-house finance dealer for a reason. I realize they give people chances who have challenged credit so, I by no means, expected any special treatment or anyone to go above of beyond for me in any way. My credit was bad, my wife the same, we used my job as credit and financed a vehicle. Straight-forward terms, bi-weekly payments due the day following payday. Things were fine until I tragically lost my job after years with the company. This was the first week of the year, directly after Christmas, hiring is slow so, I did not secure employment yet. We were 3 days late on the first payment following my job loss, then the next payment was 13 days late and the car was repossessed. Even this was not the problem as we were clear according to their collections rep., Gina, no payment arrangements are ever offered and/or guaranteed, As soon as the car was repossessed, we contacted the company the following day to get a balance to retrieve the vehicle, we were told that we would not be able to retrieve the vehicle until gainful employment was secured. Cash in hand but, without employment, vehicle was not redeemable. Per contract, this is their right to call balloon payment of balance if they feel in good faith that you will not fulfill your agreement so, again, I don't agree with it but, it is not illegal. Most places understand that life does unfortunately happen and job loss occurs, as devastating as that it to begin with and do not take this direction with their clients but, Hello Auto Finance does. So, we accepted their position and said we would like to just collect our few items left in the vehicle, namely 2 safety lock boxes used for medication security for disabled spouse as well as handicapped placard. We were asked to make an appt. to retrieve these items, we said since we had to rely on alternative transportation, we would be coming during the week-end hours but, no specific time. We were told this was ok. We arrived Saturday for our belongings, Gina, refused to allow access without the appointment even though she said ok when we said we couldn't make a specific appt. time, just the window of the week-end hours. To say that she was aggressive, hostile and extremely rude would be an understatement. She actually laughed at our frustration and said that my wife must not need her medication boxes too badly since we haven't had them in our possession for 4 days and commented that the handicapped placard didn't seem to be necessary either since she walked in their building. My wife's disability is not her business and her right to access, she is not my wife's physician who prescribed her medication or handicapped placard. I found her statements to be obscene and the attitude she had to be hugely inappropriate and unprofessional. We ultimately left without our belongings and very unhappy with the foul treatment. Luckily, my wife's physician is compassionate and ordered replacements on her day off when I placed a call to her service. The vehicle can be disposed of however they choose and we purchased another one today as well at a dealership that understands that sometimes people loose jobs and experience hardships from time to time. Our economy is weak right now so, if you are looking for a place that finances challenged credit, please look elsewhere unless you know that you will never be faced with the unexpected loss of your employment during your contract terms and do not ever have the need for an extension on your payments, this place will not allow it. We paid on time, like clockwork until the job loss. The longest delinquency we had was 13 days, exactly. The prior month we were 3 days late, Prior to that, not even a second late. I hope this information is helpful in your decision whether to finance at Hello Auto Finance and gives a good overall impression of the method of their in-house financing offered. While in current payment status, the transactions are quick and never an issue. However, once they did send a late notice for a payment due on a holiday that they were closed on and unable to accept the payment which are made on-site. Just FYI. read more
