Cotroneo Auto Group offers an auto detailing service, and I got my 9-year old SUV (new to me) detailed by Paco. He did a terrific job on detailing the interior of my vehicle. I could not find an area that he missed in the interior. He was very thorough. The staff (Robert, Paco, Sheila) was terrific. They are kind folks who care about service. I felt welcomed as soon as I entered their door, and I wasn't even there to purchase a car! Note, I would recommend calling ahead to schedule a detailing appointment as this service is available mostly during the weekdays. read more

Note: I've bought 4 cars from different dealers in the past, so I have a little 'experience' with dealers. With that said, I have never, ever been to a dealer like Cotroneo Auto Group. They are non-threatening, non-forceful, and accommodating. I have been searching for a specific (barely used) BMW online for months, but every time I find one, it sells before I get there. Cotroneo is in Dallas, and I am from Austin. I called them that morning, and negotiated a bit on the trade in value and the price of the car over the phone (honestly, I did a rather poor job on the negotiation, but I was tired of hunting for this car. I still got a good deal though). They had tons of pictures of their cars available online, which was nice. When I arrived 3 hours later, I noted the 'wow' factor of their inventory. Everything from value cars, to a Shelby Musting, and AMG Mercedes, Porsches, and more. The car I wanted was pulled aside, outside of the sun, for me to test and inspect right away. I made a ultimatum over the phone prior that if there was a single issue with the car cosmetically or mechanically that they wouldn't fix, I won't buy it. Karl asked for a deposit, but after I said I was uncomfortable doing that, he backed down quickly, which I greatly appreciated. The car was PERFECT inside and out. When I told them I would buy it, they already had the paperwork together including the Carfax report that they explained questions I had (for instance, the report noted that the car was BMW certified, but since I was not purchasing it at a BMW dealer, I don't get that status). I already had a pre-approval for 2.5%, but they were able to get a loan for 1.9%. We only talked price of the car and not monthly payments (this really annoys me when dealers try to do that). The purchase took all of 20 minutes to finalize. I was in-and-out including testing and inspecting in under an hour and a half. This is pretty much family-owned. More than half of them were related. The inside of their office and showroom was nice/welcoming but not 'we spent a ton of money from scamming people to build this elegant and expensive building'. Since they were small, everyone pretty much stopped by to say hi and asked how I was doing. The general feel I get with independent used car dealers is 'we finance even bad credit! Buy these hidden-damaged cars!', but not Cotroneo Auto Group. When I was done with the purchase, they helped me get everything out of my trade in. The salesman 'delivered' the car and was very knowledgable in every component and system and showed me how to do everything before I left. Kudos to Karl and Mike for helping me with the purchase, I will definitely be a returning customer once I run this BMW to its last mile :) read more

First, let me say that I don't typically write reviews but in this case I had such a good experience I wanted to take the extra step. I had been shopping for a Porsche 911 Cab for a long time, before I found Cotroneo's listing on eBay. This was my first Porsche, and I had never purchased a car completely online. In fact, it was my first experience with buying a luxury vehicle - I had never purchased a car valued above $20K. As such, I had to really be convinced that I could put my trust into the dealer. But despite my initial reservations, Cotroneo and, specifically, Karl Lenderman, has made me believe that it is possible to have a great experience buying a car online. I would go even a step farther and say that Cotroneo was the best dealer I've worked with, online or otherwise. Karl Lenderman had promptly reached out to me shortly after I had submitted my offer on eBay. He was courteous, respectful, and highly accommodating. He worked around my schedule, got on the phone with me at my convenience, or promptly returned my calls. I never felt disconnected or out of the loop. All in all, I found it very pleasant to work with him. Despite not having real eyes on the car, he made me feel very comfortable with what I was purchasing. When things came up (and nothing major did) Karl worked with me to make the deal work. In the end, it came down to a few signatures and a wire transfer, and the deal was done. Very smooth and painless. My car arrived earlier this week and it's exactly how it was described/portrayed online. The car is in excellent condition. I could not believe how clean and beautiful it was. Every time I drive it, I have a big grin on my face. I would recommend Cotroneo to anyone. Karl Lenderman is a horrible sales person. He was disrespectful, rude, misogynistic and overall arrogant. I had a car accident yesterday afternoon, and was looking to replace my car as soon as possible. I happened to come across the same make and model on the internet at carsforsale.com, which led me to Cotroneo Auto Group (cagtexas.com), where the car was being sold from. I wanted to keep my purchase within Texas, so I pursued this car almost immediately. The first time I spoke with Karl, a few hours after my accident, he responded with a completely arrogant air about him. I don't know if it was because it was a Friday night or he was stressed or he was just having a bad day, but I don't care. You do not disrespect your customers, especially ones that are serious about doing business with you. That conversation was short and to the point. We discussed the condition the car was in, however many of the questions I asked he could not answer. He basically had no idea what he was talking about. All he could say was that he drove the car and that the car drove fine. The next morning I found out that my insurance company was having trouble with their server and were not able to assign a client representative to my claim until the issue was resolved. Being the communicative person I am, and being interested in making sure the car was still around when the time came for purchase, I texted Karl to let him know what was going on and to see if he could hold the vehicle for me until I was able to purchase it. He spoke of a $500 deposit to take the car off the internet and keeping someone else from buying it. He mentioned that the deposit would be 100% refundable if I decided the car wasn't in the condition I was expecting. Well, at this point I was starting to realize that the price looked a bit high, and if I was going to put a deposit down on it, that I needed to negotiate to a more reasonable price point. I looked up the Kelley Blue Book price, and it was a staggering $4,000 less than what he was trying to sell the car to me for. I texted him back, giving him a lower offer, trying to negotiate to a more reasonable price, and offering the payment in full cash, which is a used car salesman's dream. He scoffed at my offer, saying it was "ridiculous," and sent a word document (that he had probably typed up, mind you) with the words "Kelley Blue Book price $13,946" highlighted, pawning that off as the "official" Kelley Blue Book price. I responded with an image of the actual Kelley Blue Book website's quote of $9,486, to which I got the response, "Good luck with your search. We are not interested in doing business with you." At this point I am fuming mad, and decide to go over his head and call the owner of Cotroneo Auto Group, Ken Cotroneo. The receptionist answered and said that he was busy on the phone with a client, but she would be happy to transfer me to the sales manager. I asked who that was. She responded, "Karl Lenderman." Haha, funny. "The reason I'm calling is because of Karl Lenderman," I said. "He was rude, arrogant and completely disrespectful to me and I would like to speak to Ken about the situation." "Oh, of course," she replied, "what is your name and number and I will have him call you back as soon as possible." Well, ten minutes later I don't hear back, so I call again, this time demanding to speak with Ken Cotroneo. The receptionist says he is out in the lot at this point, but that she will go and get him and have him call me back immediately. I received a call about ten minutes later from Ken. He sounded just as arrogant and misogynistic as his sales manager! The apple must not fall far from the tree. No wonder he has an employee that feels he can treat his customers with disrespect! The owner of the company does it all the time, so it must be okay. Ken proceeded to tell him that Karl was a good friend, starting the business with him and that they had 35 years experience. 35 years experience of crap salesmanship. read more
