I called them up and asked if they worked on classic Audi 90 Quattro they said yes. They asked me what I was going to need done on the car, I asked if they would listen to the motor it has a slight know in the number one cylinder and let me know if it's coming from the top or bottom of the motor, I'm only asking for the mechanic to listen to it. They asked me how many miles were on the car I told them 254,000. They said oh no that car is 31 years old and has too many miles, we won't even look at it or work on it, sorry. This is sad that a shop only wants to work on new cars and only wants to do the easy Jobs. I don't recommend this shop unless you have a 2025 or newer. How sad. read more

idk where to start, the whole experience hasn't been good at all. I live in NY so I couldn't look at the car and had to depend solely on the salesman's honesty.. - Was working with Josh and had asked several times "is there any issues with the vehicle" of course he says no and when I get the vehicle its literally leaking oil from the valve cover gaskets. - Josh gave me the wrong account information when wiring money over so I had to go back to the bank and pay another fee to wire money over again.. talked with a Zach and he said there would be a check in the car refunding me and there was NO check in the car upon receiving it. -There was damage to the vehicle's grill that was NOT pointed out during this whole process and after pointing this out to Josh he acted like they had no idea, EVEN THOUGH they said they had rewrapped the front bumper... THEY NEVER NOTICED THE DAMAGE?? -At this point I'm frustrated. Decided, I want to talk to someone who will give me answers. I called the dealership and asked for a Chip Vance and apparently he was on a hour and a half lunch.... And that he would call me back... well he didn't and Josh called me instead saying HE WOULD TALK TO CHIP and then get back to me... two days go by and I hear nothing! Even after txting him with "???" - overall experience has been awful and now I'm stuck with a $6,000 repair with ZERO ANSWERS and ZERO RESPONSE FROM JOSH OR CHIP! First, I'm finding out this car is a rare gem - a Gen 1 Black Eye Purple 2006 S convertible, 34,000 miles, and looks like it's barely been sat in or driven. It runs like it's brand new. Charged me 2500 dollars. Took my car home. Rear suspension started acting up. They had 12 month warranty on the job. 3 months later, rear suspension gave out. Took car back. They said rear suspension was not covered in their warranty. Gave me estimate for 2600 dollars again. I told them not to work on car. Took it to Mercedes Dealer . Before even seeing the vehicle in person we called and made an offer. If we liked the vehicle this was the price we would like, give us a no sale pitch answer. He said yeah we can do that and the rest of the purchase went as smoothly. We test drove it and essentially talked about everything other than the car. We didn't feel pressured or badgered into a purchase. We were in and out within an hour. I think it took that long only because we didn't want to leave. Our second purchase came after a really bad car buying experience at another dealership. I admit now that I should never had went anywhere other than Auto Assets. I won't make that mistake again. Working with Eddie once again, he turned a bad experience into a dream experience and we drove away in a dream car not bruised or bloodied at all. While Eddie has been the salesman we worked with, the entire staff from owner to the owners puppy are wonderful and knowledgeable and fun to be around. If I didn't live an hour away I might just hang out there. It's not very often you get that at car dealership. Maybe that's because they pride themselves on not being car dealership but a place that also sells cars. They love nice cars but more than that they love being there for the people they serve. I took my Range Rover in because the heat would get warm, just not hot. They told me they needed 24 hrs to complete the repair. The next day they contacted me & informed me not to pick it up because they hadn't gotten to it yet because a technician was out that day. Received a call the following day claiming they would need 48 hrs more, so I got a rental car. 7 days later my son & I go to pick the SUV up, and I paid while my son went out to the vehicle. He came back in & informed Rob that the heat wasn't fixed. I had already paid, so they assured me that if I scheduled to bring it back in they'd get it right. After my son went back to Cali and I took my vehicle back for repair, Rob, owner Chip, and another guy came out to the waiting area and told me if I wanted additional time spent on my vehicle it would be an additional $1400. 3 men trying to intimidate a woman by herself. I could have taken them to court or sued, but wasn't worth my time. Took my vehicle to Specialty Sport Cars, and they had the heat repaired by the end of business day!! Word of mouth has already cost them business, and I'm not the 1st person to experience this horrible service either, you just don't see them posted on this site! read more

Technicians had no idea what the issue was and I took it home since the issue couldn't be replicated at the shop. Over the course of the year, had the same issue with numerous "fixes" within this shop and still no actual repair. Finally, gave up on Auto Assets as they obviously didn't have the wherewithal to fix it and took it to the Audi dealership. Guess what?! Fixed in a day. Traded it in considering who knows what else was wrong with it. Bottom line is...if you're contemplating buying a car from this guy..DON"T. I took my Porsche Cayenne here for repair work. I had an issue with the driver's side door controls not working and had determined that the door control unit was not communicating with the CAN bus system. I had done some diagnostics myself but had not been able to determine cause. I booked the Cayenne in and dropped it off on a Thursday evening after hours. The Service Writer Matt took a detailed problem statement (always a good sign....) and kept me abreast of the status of the repair each day. A few different parts were ordered until the problem was diagnosed but I only paid for the parts required. The final root cause was a worn door wiring harness which was replaced after my approval to proceed. Picked the car up the following Tuesday evening. Matt offered to stay late to accommodate my late arrival for the pickup. This could have been a tricky issue to diagnose but the technician took a reasonable number of hours to diagnose and complete the repair. I also took a tour of the shop which was orderly and professional looking. They had a Golf that was getting a turbo upgrade and re-flash, a Cayenne in for a brake job, Range Rover for airbags, a 911 for coolant hose replacement, a vintage Alfa and an older VW beetle (electric conversion no less....). Overall this appears to be an impressive business and a place I have no issues recommending. Oh yes, in addition they have a great selection of used Porsches and other top line brands. Nathan in sales showed me a couple of Macan Turbos and was very attentive and courteous. Note: this would be a 5 star review except for a sticking drivers side window. I will call tomorrow to let them know and get some suggestion on how to resolve. Despite this issue I'm very pleased with Auto Assets and have no issues recommending them for service related work. read more

I had my Jaguar in for an oil & filter change and checkout today. The car was ready with a report to match on time. While driving over there I noticed my cat had scratched holes in the leather seats. Brought my BMW here. These guys know what they are doing. They replaced my spark-plugs. I wanted them to look at something to do with my suspension. They said they were going to have to lift my car and have to charge me 40 dollars. I declined. When I went to pick up my car, they said they did it complimentary. They gave me a large write up of what needed to be fixed. The rate here is 80 bucks, pretty low for knowledgeable people. I recently bought my first (used) Porsche in the Columbus area from a 3rd party and wanted to have a thorough inspection done to see if I had made a good purchase and to uncover any issues that the car may have. I took it to Auto Assets and they did an amazing job of going over the entire car and provided me with very detailed information about the vehicle. Chip, the owner, invited me back and took the time to walk me through what they had discovered during the inspection, and after this experience I knew I could trust them with any work that needed to be done on my vehicle. They even showed me where the car may have had some minor body work done because of minor detections in the paint that they had discovered with some equipment they have. I have had some service work done on my Porsche at Auto Assets and they have done great work and I have been very pleased with the level of service, the waiting room is very comfortable so I can get my own work done while I wait, and their mechanics are very knowledgable about Porsches. My only complaint is that they don't have a 2nd location in NE Indiana where I have moved to. While visiting family in Columbus yesterday, my check engine light came on and I was concerned about being able to get my car back to Indiana (a 3 hour drive) and I called Matt at Auto Assets and even though they were scheduling work a week out, he asked me to bring the car by and their mechanic took the time to see what the error was and assured me it was safe to drive the car back home and they did not charge me anything. I really wish I still lived in Columbus because it's hard to find people that take care of your vehicle like it was their own. read more

30 years ago, I almost bought at 928 from Auto Assets for $55,000, and bought a brand new 300E from Mercedes instead. The salesman was a Gary Foust, and I thought, what a class act, but thought Auto Assets overcharged for their cars anywhere from $15,000 to $20,000. What was funny, the next week, Porsche raised their prices, and the exact same car was now listed for $65,000 by Auto Assets. I thought, wow, what a scam. Although a doctor, I decided to school myself on wholesale and retail prices on high-line cars. Black book , blue book valuations, Sales guys sitting for 15 - 20 minutes shooting the breeze, allowing the customer to sit, with the idea that if they let em sit, it makes em think, they are getting a better deal. The customer, unaware that their salesman knew from the time, he left the room, that the deal was done, and how much money was to be had. From that point on, I made sure, I bought my cars over the phone, and only from the sales manager saving anywhere from $12,000 to $15000 per car, and only after knowing the wholesale figures., before the placed call. I laughed about my next car deal, where I took a good friend to the auto auction at Obetz. He fell in love with an almost new white 450 Lexus, which would retail north of $45,000, and on that rainy, cloudy day, I was able to realize a slight gap in the paint markings in the rear, indicating a fairly good paint job, and pointed that out to several other dealers, that the whole back end had been wrecked. I then went up to another dealer, and asked if he was bidding on this car, and offered him a couple of hundred, if he would be willing to flip over the car to my buddy. I had everything set, but then was horrified to see my friend bidding against himself. I told him, you bid again, I will punch you. But my car, he protested.... That guy's bidding for you!! You just raised the price $400. We walked away with $20,400 plus what we paid for the dealer to flip the title... saving ourselves almost $12,000. Auto Assets eventually moved to Powell from Sawmill, having survived the downturn on the 90's. They still had nice cars, but still way overpriced. In 2017, I had a 'perfect' red Boxster 2001 with less than 14,200 miles on it, basically new, and proud it looked better than any car Auto Assets had listed on their lot, but then one day the passenger window would not go down. I thought about doing the work myself, either the motor or the switch was out, but figured labor at $100/hour, I'd give Auto Assets a try, as I had heard in the small town of Powell, they were not bad. They quoted me $100 to check it out, what I got back, was window motor was bad, and that it would cost $1100 to fix it, and that they had checked out the tires, which I knew were original, but looked new, that those needed to be replaced, and that they had checked all the fluids, which were fine. I hadn't asked them to check any of this. The bill was $172, and as asked, they left everything apart. The car looked rough, and tires and rims no longer perfect, as if someone had driven the car a bit hard, but nothing a good detail wouldn't fix and there was a detail shop across the street, probably the same one Auto Assets used. Driving away, I was able to put the clutch to the floor, and was pissed, because that clutch was totally stiff when I dropped off the car. Rather than just admitting, that someone might have messed with the slave cylinder bleeder screw, I was given a song and dance about how all Porsche clutches are loose that way, and Chip had me check all the ones on his lot, to show me that was so. I told him, I had a 911 I had just bought, 2006 with 16,000 miles with the exact same stiffness in the clutch, and had my wife drive the car to the lot to show him, but he then claimed there was something wrong with my 911 clutch, rather than just admitting that air had somehow got into the slave cylinder line in my Boxster. Now my wife was seething. You giving us a line of bullshit, You know it and I know it. Silent, I got the bill adjusted down to $100, after waiting the proverbial make the customer wait at least 12 minutes. My wife had already left the dealership. I guessed she wouldn't be coming back. She didn't like being lied to. After taking the car home, I found it was just the module to the window was bad, got a refurbished one for $65, replaced it, and put everything back together with minimal fuss in less than 2 hours. I suppose I should pay myself the $1100. I checked since then with other Porsche dealers, and found, no one keeps their clutches this loose, and that someone at Auto Assets appears clueless regarding air in a slave clutch assembly. It's a simple fix to bleed that line. I just don't know why Chip didn't just manage it, instead of handing me that line of BS, about all Porsches have loose clutches. Either they truly are clueless, or they are making it up as they go. I know that read more

Beware!!! I first called Auto Assets to discuss my problem with my Cadillac Allante. They assured me they would be able to figure out the brake issue with a diagnostic fee. I then paid $110 tow bill to have it delivered. Auto Assets contacted me saying they could not figure the brake issue out and needed another hour of work to give me a definite quote on fixing my brakes. Once again they called and said they needed more time....after charging me $738 for "diagnostic" still not figuring issue out...they wanted me to put another $1200 for fixing something that they say needed to be done to figure out brake issue. I took my vehicle to Auto Assets based on their reputation of good work. Auto Assets prices are more expensive than any other shop. They fixed nothing and still could not tell me problem with my brakes for $738. Ridiculous! I will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General and BBB of Columbus. read more
