Luis just finished up rekeying our home. What an amazing guy! He drilled the deadbolt holes larger to accommodate the new locks we bought, rekeyed 7 deadbolts and 7 handles to the outside, installed everything, and hauled away all the old locks and boxes. Super happy! He was also incredibly patient waiting for my husband to come home so we can get the last lock installed. All the locks work smoothly and cleanly now. Will definitely be calling him back in the future for when we upgrade to smart locks. Highly recommend! read more

Thank you SO much! You both worked so hard we really appreciated it. Very professional, friendly and hard working.

Locked my keys in my car on new years eve. I called at 8pm on new years eve, and they were there in 15 minutes. After about 45 minutes my car was unlocked and I was on my way to the party. No damage to the car at all. Pure professional service. Thank you! read more

Came within 30min of me calling! A lifesaver. Also a bit more affordable than the other rates I looked at. Thank you!

What a dynamic duo.. mother and son saving the day! Lol.. I was referred to Authority when my listing needed to be rekeyed ASAP.. they not only came through quickly and at an affordable rate, they took care of a sticky sliding glass door.. mom is a super hero! Saved on my phone under locksmith Go to! read more

My key broke while opening our door. Service was quick. Less than 20 minutes they were at my house. Very reliable will use their business again! read more

Very appropriate company name because Mario is a TOTAL BOSS. I had been turned down by three(3) other locksmiths previously -- Mario could have done the job with his eyes closed. My 1974 BMW's only key had worn to the point of not starting the car, and the key was discontinued by BMW. Sounds bad right? I was ready to pay Mario for a whole new ignition cylinder and probably both doors but he was able to fix mine! saving me a lot of money and stress. He is a master. I could tell by the way he started my old beloved just the way she likes, the very first time. Then he made me a new key on the spot and on his way out, gave me some free advice about my other ridiculous car's jammed door that 45min later would open it for the first time in months. I seriously do not even want to know much that would have cost. Complete overdelivery of service. Made my whole week. Hire this guy. Thanks Mario! read more

We had locked ourselves out of our house and our spare was out of town! AND we had set the alarm before leaving AND our dog was inside! Worst day ever. Mario was incredible, he came out to our place at 740pm and was done at about 810. Super quick, efficient and professional. We are so lucky to have found him and and glad he answered our call in such a crazy hour and on a holiday weekend!!! Thank you Mario and Authority Locksmith :) read more

Door Knob Change The owner, Mario, was very responsive via email and text even at 4:53 am. He showed up quickly at 5:05 am to our house to change our front door knob! He finished it up in less than 15 minutes! The price is very reasonable and the cheapest among the three locksmiths I have called in the area! Excellent job, Mario! We highly recommend his service to anyone! read more

Called the top 5 Yelp listings and he: a) answered immediately b) was the cheapest quote around (beating another listing by 50%!) c) was the only one who would come out to Castro Valley within the hour (I called at 630 pm on a Thursday night) d) was highly professional & got the job done WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

I don't know what happened but a mom and her son shows up and can barely speak English. I'm locked out of my house so I just roll with it. It takes then two hours, they drill and a day later my door handle is falling apart. It looks like this place is a scam. Lots of locksmith scams out there. read more

I called and spoke to Mario regarding a door knob problem. His quote was the best in town for being Moblie. Mario said he would be at my home within 20 minutes and he was quicker then that. Mario was professional and diagnosed the problem. He was quick to make the repairs. He also showed me the old parts and how they were damaged. read more

I locked myself out of the house and realized it as soon as I closed the door. A moment of panic set in as I felt in my pocket for my keys and they weren't there. A quick yelp search for a locksmith yielded the 5 star service of this locksmith. I gave him a call, let him know my situation, and in 5 minutes he was at my location. He skillfully got through the lock on the security door and then the front door itself. It took him 3 minutes at the most. I got my keys and asked if he could make a copy of them. He said he could do that pretty easily. He made copies of my keys in his van and told me no charge for them. How awesome is that!? Not saying I ever want to have to require a locksmith, but I will definitely use them again if the need arises. Awesome and fast service. read more

I used Mario a few years ago to make a key for my F-150 (I only got one key when I purchased it used). He was able to meet me in a parking lot and make the the key in less than 5 minutes. Very good prices, experienced, excellent service, and friendly. More recently I got a quote from him for a Sheriff's eviction lockout (price quoted was better than the other guys in Oakland) although I ended up not needing him for this. I hope all these 5 star reviews doesn't mean he'll get too busy for me in the future! read more

I was having a rotten day, lost my keys looked all day kind of fiascos..well I finally succumbed and call Authority Locksmiths after reading some good reviews here. This fella Mano that came out was a total sweetheart. Took care of my rekeying, switched out my failing crummy ignition, and times being tough, gave me a nice discount..I don't think they normally do this, but I really really was having a super bad day, and fiddlesticks, we're human aren't we? Thank you Mano, you're kindness and the story lives on! read more

Mario just changed the locks on my apartment door in about 15-20 minutes. It was a little costly but still cheaper and much faster than a lot of other places I called. I decided to use Authority Locksmith based off of the other reviews and everyone was right, the service was great. Mario came in about 40 minutes from the time I called and was done in about 20 mins so the whole thing took an hour. Mario was polite, and gave me an extra set of keys. Also, I noticed that the door closes a little tighter now than it did before. I definitely recommend him. read more

Mario saved me over $75 by programming my Fob key. I purchased keys online and due to the defective keys Mario couldn't program them, 3 times, but he didn't charge me for them. I tried going to Honda but they were going to charge $170 and if it didn't program I would still be out $170. So i ended up just buying the key from Honda and had Mario program it. And this time it worked. I felt bad for having Mario come for the 4th time so I tipped him. He was very patient and nice the whole time. Will definitely be recommending him to family and friends. Thanks again Mario. read more

Lost our only key and keyless remote fob to our van and was quoted nearly $400 by the dealership for just the key and labor! RIDICULOUS! To top it off our van was stuck at Bart. Saw Authority Locksmith received good reviews and contacted them. Mario, came within 30 minutes, picked me up at home and we were off to Bart. Very personable and professional guy. He created 2 keys for a very reasonable price! I wish I could have given him 5 stars, but his equipment was faulty and he had to call back up to help him which made the process take a lot longer. Either way, I would definitely do business with him again! read more

Mario arrived in less than 15 minutes and I was back inside my house in less than 2 minutes. He is fast, courteous and skilled. I highly recommend Authority Locksmith Service! read more

I broke the key for my 2010 honda civic, Honda wanted $250 to program a new key. Mario gave me two keys for that price. He's awesome.

Mario was great. He helped me remove a padlock on my storage locker that was accidentally jammed with a key that broke off in the lock. I called him up this morning and he met me at the storage facility exactly at the time I requested (actually, he beat me there!). Very nice guy. Great pricing, too. Almost half what locksmiths usually charge for the service provided. Highly recommend. Only thing - he only takes cash, but does give receipts. read more

This guy was super fast to get to me and super fast to get the job done right. Price was very reasonable and an honest guy. Will definitely contact him for future jobs and I highly recommend him. Happy Customer read more

I came home to find the lock -that had been acting funny- on my front door was now broken. To add insult to panic, I was just coming home from a long night shift and my dogs badly needed to get outside to do their business. I simply went to yelp and called the top three locksmiths in my area. 1st one was busy as well as charming and helpful - though unavailable. 2nd was on the phone but text me right away that he would call me back shortly (which he did but Mario was already on his way). 3rd was Mario @ Authority Locksmith, who I left a message for, was called back within minutes, he was at my door within 10 minutes and done within 10 more. (2 locks and 3 copies of the key). I could not be happier and I highly recommend him. He is fast, knows what he's doing, and is very reasonably priced. Thank You Mario! read more

Wow! Mario was here in 15minutes...he was so nice and so caring. He even told me not to leave my purse out in the open because of the holiday theft going on everywhere. Mario was God sent. My lock was difficult to open but he tried and tried and wouldn't give up. I will definitely save his number in my phone. I am grateful. Thank you Mario. Thank you for being more than a random guy out for money for your services. Rare read more

Great service and extremely professional. I would not choose anyone else other than MARIO. He helped our family in a nightmare situation at midnight on a weekday. I will never forget his quick service and professional courtesy. I say if you are ever in need call MARIO. read more

Mario was amazing! Out of three locksmiths I called, he had the best price and was available immediately. He was fast, efficient, and such a nice guy!! I would definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone I know! Edited to add: after calling this company out a second time, I would no longer recommend them. Mario was good. But almost a year later, I lost my house key somewhere in the street and rather then take a chance, I decided to rekey my deadbolts to be safe. Mario was on vacation so a woman came out. There was a huge language barrier and it took three tries before the locks were set how I asked originally. Several of my doorknobs are loose and I had to tighten them myself, but now a few screws are stripped. Also, something happened with our front door and now it's really, really hard to open. I tried to call them back out and left messages but no one returned my calls. Now we have to push on the door hard to get it to open. I don't know how to fix it. read more

The house front door opener and lock required replacement. They came on time, did the job, were friendly, but the door lock and handle fell off within two weeks and I had to get another company to redo the job and ended up paying twice as much for the same job. I'm not sure they knew what they were hired to do. read more

Mario, strongly recommended locksmith. I requested car key replacement, it quoted cheaper than other businesses. Plus he got me extra key as courtesy!!!!! What a nice guy, Mario is such a professional takes very short time to finish the job. Thanks a lot! -Min read more

I misplaced my only car key. Womp womp. I got a couple bids from local locksmiths. The highest one quoted me $250. No thanks. I called Authority Locksmith and Mario quoted me a much lower price and arrived within 15 minutes. Mario was very friendly, quick and efficient. He even reminded me that since I'm a AAA member, AAA offers me a credit when I have to use a locksmith, so I ended up saving even more money. Good lawd forbid I need a locksmith in the future, but if so, Mario will be my first call! read more

Hands down the best locksmith in the East Bay. Pricing: I called about a dozen locksmiths to come to my office to make a key for a file cabinet (we couldn't locate the original). Mario quoted the best price and did not attempt to do the traditional bait and switch that many locksmiths do. Communication: Mario answered his phone right away and told me his availability to complete the requested job. He ran into traffic and notified me in advance that he'd be a little late. He is an extremely professional and friendly person. Knowledge: Mario's years of experience were evident as he assessed the lock and produced a key within 5 minutes. Overall: If you're looking for someone to do an honest and professional job at a good price with a smile on their face, then Mario is your guy! read more

My sister and I were locked out of our Auntie's house, which is where we were staying for the weekend. Gave him a call around 8pm and he was here by 8:10. We were also short on cash due to the fact that it was so unexpected. Not just did this man get the screen door and the wooden door open in a matter of 10minutes, he lowered his pricing in order to compensate for us being short on cash. Excellent service, I honestly don't think it gets any better than this. Thank you so much. read more
