we arrived 45 minutes before close, and our server sam was super kind about it. She was amazing! She had great knowledge about the menu, coffee offerings, and was very kind and personable. She and the gentleman from the kitchen who ran our food, brought my dog a treat. Everyone was insanely friendly, including the manager on shift, whose name I did not get, thank y'all for an amazing meal! The food was delicious, the prices were fair, and the service was exemplary. we sat on the patio with my dog and it was very comfortable!

This place is perfect for breakfast or brunch. I had a super fresh and tasty omelet, and the portions were really generous. The staff was polite and helpful, explained everything on the menu. You can tell it's a popular spot, we got there around 10 a.m., and it was almost full, but we still found a table. The coffee was great too, smooth taste, not too much milk, just how I like it in the morning. We had such a good time. I think this might become our go-to breakfast place. Prices are fair, most breakfast dishes start around $12-13, and it's totally worth it. Big thanks to the kitchen: my omelet was honestly perfect. The space is bright and open, with plenty of seating inside and outside

Stopped by before my drive back to DFW. Cool decor and the merch was dope. Poor service to start. I placed a pickup order on Doordash. Stood at the pick up location at the bar for at least 5 minutes before anyone addressed me. They weren't super busy. Didn't get a hello/how are you doing, just "have you been helped yet?". After I told them I was waiting for a to go order, another customer came up and was pleasantly greeted right away. Very weird. Breakfast quesadilla looked promising but didn't pan out. A hefty serving, all of it super bland. The salsa was good, but besides that everything was flavorless. Some salt and pepper would've went a long way. Potatoes were cut way too big. Some of them were on the undercooked side because of this. Got an iced Carmel latte. Nothing to ride home about. Tasted weak. Wouldn't come here again.

You cannot go wrong with a classic Austin diner. It use to be that you order at the counter, but they have now switched to ordering at a table which I'm happy about. There was no wait to get a table of 2 on a Sunday morning. They have tons of great options for coffee and really delicious breakfast plates. I got the eggs Benedict with bacon and avocado and it was the perfect amount and flavor. We shared a big pancake which was moist and sweet! I love bringing folks from out of town here as it is as Austin weird as you can get.

I have loved this spot since they moved to our neighborhood. This Austin Java has such a nice feel. The staff are so friendly and helpful. You order at the counter, find a seat and they bring your food to you. They have a water station and plenty of bathrooms, they have coffee drinks, mimosas and it looks like they had a margarita special. This is a great place for brunch and they have a small outdoor seating area as well.

I gave Austin Java three separate tries. Sour espresso shots, poor service, incorrectly made drinks. So bummed.

We typically enjoy ordering the skillet, but unfortunately, we had a very strange experience during this visit. Even though we were the only customers there, it took around 20 minutes for our food to come out. When it finally arrived, the skillet was completely cold to the touch, and every bite was room temperature. We were genuinely confused, and it was one of the few times we felt the need to send a dish back. Because of that experience, we likely would not return to this particular location, especially when we've had consistently better visits at the Mueller one.

I nearly levitated while eating!!!! everything was incredibly delicious and packed with flavor. The pork soup dumplings were probably my least favorite dish. I wish they had been served a little warmer and had a bit more flavor. The chili oil wontons were slightly sweeter than I expected, but they were phenomenal nonetheless. Their chili oil is AMAZING! We ordered the hot & spicy spare ribs at spice level 3, and they were absolutely delicious, so tender and full of flavor. The spicy beef udon and Yangzhou fried rice were also so so good. I stopped today with my husband and absolutely LOVED it, I'm definitely gonna be back!!…read moreBut let me tell you more! The indoor is very beautiful and smells like cinnamon and apple (a scent that I love), especially going towards the bathrooms. Theres a bar section with plenty of seating and the room inside the restaurant is overall very spacious. I didn't see much of the indoor as I decided to sit outside in the patio. Although being during the Texas summer, the patio has plenty of (very powerful) fans! The view of the green belt next to the restaurant is amazing, and there is also an outdoor bar, which gives impeccable vibes. We ordered two starters and had plenty of food! My husband ordered the Barbacoa Stackers (slow roasted barbacoa, refried black beans, Jack cheese, JAK slaw, Cotija cheese) I personally loved them! The meat was tasty and juicy, the black beans were perfectly cooked and everything was so rich in flavor. Definitely a 10/10! I ordered the Homemade Buttermilk Biscuit, served with honey & seasonal fruit flavored butter (with a side of yummy bacon) Today they had strawberry flavor, and there was even strawberry jam. I have to be honest, THE BEST biscuits I've ever had in my life! And I love me some good biscuits! They were buttery and crumbly to the right point! The strawberry butter with the strawberry jam was the perfect combo! We were told the biscuits are made fresh every morning, and I love that! It was definitely a 1000/10! We also got some chips and salsa. Chips are very crunchy, and the salsa is spicy to the right point! Now I'm building my tolerance with the spicy and this salsa was really yummy, and can build up the spice! The waiter who served it to us, brought it over in a small mason jar and emptied it in the little container for our table, which was something I've never seen done like this. Definitely appreciated it! Makes me think they make their own salsa (forgot to check on that!) They also gave us a complimentary pita bread with pimento, and it was delicious! The pita bread was very crunchy and salty to the right point! They even gifted me a portion of peach and strawberry cobbler, topped with ice cream, for my birthday and it was insane! The flavor was perfectly sweet and mixed with the ice cream was very refreshing and still warm and melting in my mouth! Probably one of the best cobblers I've ever had! And keep in mind, we got here that we weren't feeling super hungry, and yet we were able to appreciate every single bite cause it was so good!! Last but not least - Ali, our server, was incredible! She was so nice throughout the whole dining experience and made sure we had everything we needed. She was so kind to ask if I could add peach puree to my freshly squeezed lemonade (which is a 10/10), and even made sure I had plenty of strawberry butter for my biscuits. We definitely took some leftovers home and I can't wait to have the remaining biscuit in the morning!

One of the misses has been some BBQ spots; some places that I was hyped for, disappointed me. I came in with an open mind to LeRoy and Lewis, seeing that they were more "new school" barbeque. I also came in prepared: I saw many food bloggers do their reviews, so I was familiar with some of their offerings. For my order, I ordered doubly: I got the Monday Special L&L Burger for $10 and Beef Tallow Fried Chips for $3. On top of that, I also got the 2MEATS/2SIDES Plate at $25. If you want to order a premium meat, each order is an additional $3. My plate totaled $31, and with the Burger & Fries, the total came out to $44. MUCH BETTER VALUE COMPARED TO *cough* OTHER BBQ PITS IN THE AREA... If you are ever in Austin on a Monday, you have to stop by L&L for their special Monday Burger deal. You'll get this amazing smoked burger --- made with 1/2 lb. brisket patty, grilled onions, pickles, on a toasted martin's potato roll --- and it SLAPS. The smoke hits you instantly, along with how juicy a patty it is. For the plate, for my sides I got the Frito Pie & the Kale Caesar Slaw. Both these sides are unique and are flavorful accompaniments to the BBQ. Frito pie is fun & has DEPTH, while the Kale Slaw is refreshing after eating so much heavy BBQ. On to the meats: L&L were already sold out of the famous beef cheeks, so for my two meats I got the Tri Tip and the Flat Iron Steak. OH MY GOD. Both options were so immensely flavorful, smoky, and moist. I was completely entranced at how delicious these meats were. For dessert, because why not --- I got the cheddar cheesecake with apple butter. It was oddly, partially savory but I think it was meant to be. The apple butter carried it to the perfect "dessert territory". All in all, I am GRATEFUL AND SATISFIED. Spoke to some employees --- the nicest in the world! They truly care about the craft. Restaurant is clean, and if you come at the "right time" --- spacious when necessary. LeRoy and Lewis --- I see the vision!

Regardless of the food or ambiance the server is the face of the establishment. Bad service can easily lead to a bad review. In this case the waitress, when she finally showed up, was not friendly. She was indifferent, like we were bothering her, and had a borderline RUDE attitude. The clincher was her assumption on who was paying the bill. We waited a good ten minutes for her to initially show up. When she got to the table the first thing she asked for was a credit card to cover the drinks we ordered; which I thought was strange since our family was sitting at a table and ordering dinner. After the food was delivered she never returned to check on us. Other servers had to get us refills and were happy to do so. When she finally returned at the end of the meal with the bill , all smiles of course, she had already run the credit card without ever giving us the bill to review??? The card she asked for, for the drinks, was NOT meant to pay the bill. We were going to split the bill but since she already ran the card the cardholder didn't feel comfortable asking her to rerun the card. This was VERY awkward!! None of us have EVER experienced anything like this ever!! I wish I had gotten her name. I'm giving a 2 star review because everyone though the food was good.
